I've suffered from lower back pain from years and it seemed to be getting progressively worse, regardless of many visits to several chiropractors and physical therapists. Last year, I finally went to Dr. Harry Oxenhandler for help, and he has turned things around for me. This book encapsulates his approach to diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of a heretofore unappreciated but apparently very common back problem. If you've had little or no success with other approaches, this may be the one for you. If you're a physician frustrated by your limited ability to offer real relief to patients with lower back pain, this is the book for you. It emphasizes straightforward diagnostic techniques and self-therapy through stretching. It's all here.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who suffers from chronic back pain - and I suspect that there are many of you out there. The book is clearly written and easy for a lay person to understand. The many photographs are especially helpful, plus the exercises for all levels of mobility. Dr. Oxenhandler's approach is simple and logical, but most importantly, it works. I know because I have tried it!

This wonderful book is particularly valuable for several reasons, most importantly, it is writtin in a style, with illustrations and photos that average non-medical readers can use.
The exercises recommended and explained carefully, can truly relieve or eliminate pain. If the diagnosis of a problem had indicated surgery and yet "pain" is relieved by following the exercises and suggestions, perhaps, that diagnosis was not correct. Give this book a chance, you'll be pleased!

If only every husband would pick up this little jewel and read it we'd all be happier campers. Mr. Harrison's wife is a lucky lady.

Straightforward, funny and so true! Every husband should keep this book handy for a daily reminder. I gave The Husband Book as a gift to a new groom, but also plan on giving it to my in-laws who've been married for decades. It covers all the bases.

Mr. Harrison's book was witty, fun and SOOOO true! I'm sure his wife appreciates his love for her! The book was full of very true insights that were hopefully not too hard earned! Mr. Harrison made me laugh out loud and repeatedly reminded me that perhaps there are sensitive men out there in the world! I also read his book, "Father to Son," another extremely insightful book on raising boys. As a single mother of two teenage boys, I think Mr. Harrison is right on track. His words hit home in both books. I plan on giving these books as gifts to all soon-to-be or new husbands and/or fathers of boys. The books will make you laugh at his wit, sigh at his insights and make you wish he held seminars for husbands and fathers alike! Great books! Fun reading!

This book is the best single source of information for preparation for the JNCIP-M lab exam. The book reads easily, configurations given are well explained and with the case studies at the end of each chapter you can test your knowledge and practise.
I believe this book helped me to pass the JNCIP-M exam, it also deepened my knowledge about subjects I thought I already knew well.

In my opinion this is one if the best book I have read. It is not a book about JUNOS basics or technology basic, you are assumed to have at atleast a JNCIS level of knowledge with prior knowledge of JUNOS. The book walks you through what seems to be every possible exam topic that you can encounter when going for your JNCIP exam. In addition to these topic discussions, the author does an excellent job in showing you the commands to configure the task at hand, verify your work and the steps you should take in working your way through a problem. He gives you tips throughout the material and gives you different solutions to a problem. At the end of each chapter, you have a case study that he walks you through and last but not least, some questions to see if you can spot the problem which really enforces the material you just read. This book is one of the best written books I have read. It is easy to follow and understand and you will love some of the humor he throws in. It shed some light on topics that I had missed when I took my JNCIP exam and has made me much better prepared to tackle it the next time around. It is worth the $$.

Excellent! I managed to pass the JNCIP-M Lab exam on my 1st attempt, thanks to the help of this great book. All 6 chapters opened up my eyes to what an M/T series router loaded with JunOS can really do. Each chapter goes through the configuration options available, what i liked most was that the author also displayed how to perform verification of his configurations. This is really useful if you do not have a lab of routers like me. (I had to remember what i did during work, and fiddle around whenever i got the chance) By the end of the book, you will most probably know ALMOST every configuration option under the following hierarchy Levels

I remember devouring this book series when I read it for the first time at age 12. Being so deeply affected by the impacting story, I recently sought out the books again sixteen years later and found myself plunged back into the story, coming up for air and food only two days later when I was done.

I appreciate the honesty and yet the hope that is offered in this story. This is shown through the beauty of the human spirit in dark times and also of a God who sees, loves and cares for His people.

I highly recommend this literature.

Journey Through The Night is an exciting glimpse into the daily life and struggles of a Dutch family and their community during the German occupation of Holland. Historical fiction at it's best with a continual and sometimes comical reminder of how precious true freedom and family are. It's an easy reading for the whole family and well worth the investment.

I cannot begin to express my love of this 4-book series. I read it when I was in grade school and have tried to reread the series at least once every few years. However, as I do not own the series, I must interlibrary loan it or borrow it from people who do own it. [This review can also double as a plea to the publisher to republish the series.]

This series was originally written in Dutch by Anne De Vries and was translated into English and published in Canada. The four books are: (v. 1) Into the darkness (v. 2) The darkness deepens (v. 3) Dawn's early light and (v. 4) A new day.

The series traces the German occupation of the Netherlands from 1940 to 1945 during World War II. The books are seen through the eyes of John De Boer, a Dutch teenager who grows up during the war and assists in the resistance movement. Filled with suspense, intrigue, and harsh reality, the series protrays what life was like during the war.

The books are written for middle school ages and up. The prose is easy to read, though not simplistic. A parent may want to read along with a younger child because parts of the books can be very emotionally disturbing.

The stories of enjoyment and excitment people have written about really struck my fancy. When the Harry Potter series first came out i thought 'Its just another kids book' but when my class was forced to read the first book Harry Potter and the philosephers stone i just had to get the rest of the series. I rate this book 100 out of 100.

harry potter has enchanted millions of readers from around the world and pulled the the children away from their television and showed them that reading is fun. read this if you want to see how far a child's imagination can carry him.

It's great that people are finally listening to the kids point of views. Its the kids who made this series popular in the first place and then it spread to the parents and to other adults. Without these loyal fans, this series would not have been so popular and its about time that they get some credit for it.

The Tale of Krispos series, is actually a two book set about young Krispos, followed by a stand-alone third book about a mature Krispos and his kids. The Tale of (young) Krispos begins with "Krispos Rising", and continues seamlessly with "Krispos of Videssos". This is a classic rags to riches story, perfectly done, with the added adventure of a sword and sorcery tale. Krispos is born into the humblest of beginnings, then his life gets even worse. Just when you think things might be turning around for him, things get even worse than that. Finally he is left with nothing, and sets out to seek his own fortune in the world. You get to enjoy Krispos' rise from the very depths of the low, to the utmost pinnacle of his world, every step of the way. It is thoroughly enjoyable, not only because Krispos so richly deserves his reward, but also because his world of Videssos is a better place with him at the top.

The spellbinding detail of the world of Videssos was painstakingly developed in the author's first series, The Videssos Cycle, beginning with "The Misplaced Legion". This is a story about elements of one of Caesar's legions travelling into Rome's future of the Byzantine Empire. Only it's not the real Byzantine Empire, it's a parallel universe where magic works. Aside from that, it's Byzantium written by a Byzantine historian. In his first series, Harry Turtledove is contrasting the vigor of an expanding Roman Empire under Caesar with the decadence of the Byzantine Empire in decline. In his Tale of Krispos series, he is contrasting the industrious work ethic of the rural peasants with the jaded debauchery of the Empire's noble elite. With 1000 years of Byzantine history at his command, the author is able to richly describe detailed colorful characters, places, and events in this series, the same way he did in the first. They all ring true, because they are based (sometimes loosely) upon real historical fact. The realism of Videssos is unsurpassed.

The Tale of (young) Krispos is a must read for anyone who likes to read a gripping tale about a young man's struggle to reach the top. It is also a must read for anyone who is fascinated by the inner workings of ancient empires, particularly the Byzantine and Roman. Finally, it is a must read for anyone who likes sword and sorcery stories, because there is an evil wizard to defeat, and a barbarian invasion to turn back.

Krispos is just a poor farm kid, or is he? The stars seem to have other ideas. As I followed Krispos from his rural and slave beginings to wearing the red boots of Avtokraor the intrigue and action was non-stop. Another Harry Turtldove must read!

The story continues in book 2 with more fast-paced intrigue and adventure. This sequel is impossible to put down. So what if you miss a little sleep!

This 128 page paperback version may be a good read. I don't know, haven't read it. My copy is the 946 page hardcover edition. It is thorough, balanced and an excellent read. If you can find that version, get it!

Using extensive documentation, including documents unreleased by the British government when earlier, more speculative biographies were written, Jeremy Wilson produced a phenomenal work of great scope and power. The book may be too exhaustive for casual readers, who will find the reams of speculative nonsense written about Lawrence more to their liking. Wilson also carefully deconstructs many precious Lawrence myths: that Lawrence was homosexual, for instance, is unproven (there's no evidence that he was sexual at all); that he made up large portions of his adventures is also proven untrue -- though in his later writings he sometimes shaped a story to sound better and certainly he had to dance around descriptions of his intelligence work. But these are both side issues. Lawrence lived a life of tremendous accomplishment in the First World War, but in other fields, such as archaeology and literature. Wilson is fair, and corrects Lawrence's own accounts when necessary. This is not a work of hagiography. It is the most well-documented biography of Lawrence, and Wilson quotes primary documentation extensively -- perhaps too extensively. It's a must for the library of any Lawrence fan, and the only necessary secondary reference work for anyone who wants the truth about Lawrence. Those who require something more nonsensical and speculative in their diet may add Knights "Secret Lives of Lawrence of Arabia".

I had previously read the Robert Graves book on Lawrence. This was far more superior. It was engrossing, detailed and made me want to know more about this incredible man. There didn't seem to be any bias for or against Lawrence by the author. It moved quickly. It's apparent that he did a very detailed job of researching Lawrence. I am know looking for other books that might uncover even more information. Enjoy!

No nonsense, brilliant and fascinating. Gives me an appetite for more. The best book I have ever read on the subject. Harry's software is fantastic too. It is a real eye-opener.

Harry Lorayne, one of magic's most sought after teacher, will teach anyone the ins and outs of excellent magic. I started with this book 9 years ago and still use it today for reference. This book is organized into card tricks, coin tricks, impromptu magic, and sleights. The best part is Harry's personal presentation tips for making a lasting impression on your audience. The tips alone in this book are worth more than the price of the book.

If you've dabbled in magic and decide you want to get serious, this is the book to get. If you need a gift for a budding young magicion, this is the book to get. Many people know Harry as a memory expert, but magicians also know Harry as an accomplished performer, teacher, and author of magic.

``The Magic Book'' contains descriptions of solid, professional style (no pulling coins out of ears magic here!) close up magic. Indeed, many magicians complained to Harry that he was giving too much away. Their loss is definately your gain.

As a note, this book is in print, having been republished recently by L&L publishing. You might have to search for it. Any magic shop should be able to get it for you, or search the web for a magic supplier.

Harry Lorayne is best known today as a memory expert. Six Las Vegas casinos won't deal Blackjack to him because of his ability to remember cards. However, within the magic fraternity, Lorayne is both a top notch entertainer and original thinker. I've used two card sleights he invented, the halo cut and the ultra-move, to perform what look like card miracles for audiences. In "The Magic Book", Lorayne presents a complete and solid grounding in the basics of sleight-of-hand magic. Starting with cards, he explains the basics of false shuffling, false cuts, double lifts, palming, and forces. His explanation of the jog shuffle is vital for every magician who works with cards. The following two chapters describe effects and routines that use the sleights just explained and essentially self-working card routines.
