The Secret of Roan Inish/Movie Tie-In

Average review score:

Great coming of age story. The power of youth enthusiasm.
Fry's style is quite readable, diverse, descriptive and active. Her words make the story - although simple - alive and empowering. Fiona is an inspiration for the youth of today - who often lack direction (due to adult irresponsibility).

A Parable of changes a Shepherd brings to life.
I loved the blend of prose and poetry Joanna Horn used to bring depth and emotions into her story. Set Me As A Seal is an excellent read, and a challenge to the resistance to change that most of us feel from time to time. I will read it again and again.

Shaft Seals for Dynamic Applications
Published in Hardcover by Marcel Dekker (12 June, 1996)
Authors: Les Horve and Leslie A. Horve

Great book
This is an excellent book for any engineer that is applying radial sealing technology.

The first week I received this manual I was able to apply much of what I read. The value of the data is priceless.

The design related information is accurate and well as the material selection criteria.

This book is also written very well, (considering the fact the most engineering manuals are hard to read).

You could use this book alone to design and develop a radial lip seal for any application.

fantastic true story!
The story is told by the son of the man who first tamed, and then released, Andre the harbor seal. Fantastic for children because it is told from the perspective of a boy who grew up with this seal, but also very informative and interesting to adults as he is very specific about the difficulties they encountered. While it is a funny and heartwarming story, it also points out the inherent problems faced by wild animals when they are raised by humans. Many fascinating discussions can come from this reading!

A great book to learn about whales, dolphins and seals
This book is captivating and fun to read. The stories are exciting and educational. I have a new respect for the creatures of the sea. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is amazed by the creatures of the sea and wants to learn more. Anne Collet is a very inspirational person. She has a great desire to futher the world's knowledge of the species and inspire others to follow their heart and pursue dreams of research or scientific study.

Great Way to get a feel for Life in the Icey Wilderness
The colors in this Eskimo village in the Far North are warm, rich and soothing. They give you the impression of a soft darkness, illuminated by the Aurora Borealus. Tiktala, a young girl who expresses a desire to be a great sculptor of soapstone, goes on a quest to find her spirit guide. She is transformed by the spirits into a Harp Seal and learns what it is like to live as one, in the beautiful and dangerous wild.

Webster's Wardrobe
This is a terrific baby pleaser--my friend's three month-old is fascinated and mesmerized by the bright colors and bold shapes. The language is rhythmic and musical, perfect for infants and toddlers. Every baby I have given this book to has loved it.

A must read for anyone who is interested in the war on drugs
From what seems like real damger in the begining while acting like a low life junkie ends up later looking like childs play. Later Mr. Bartone goes deep undercover and goes on to con and collect several thousand dollars in cash and drugs from key members of the Cali Cartel. Even though the situations that Speziale gets himself into are very dangerous you often find yourself laughing because he always finds a way to pin the drug bust on someone other than himself and even having the nerve to ask for retribution for his losses. Along the way he meets up with and learns from an interesting character named Paul Lir Alaxander who is a mysterious as he is savy when it comes to understanding the drug business. The book reads like a novel but the story is anything but fiction. If anyone takes the time to read this book it will be one of thier best reads ever.
