I thought this book was overall, pretty good. I would definatly recommend it to anybody.

This is the best book written about the bald eagle and how it was established as our national symbol. It is well researched, referenced and documented. Isaacson's writing style is expressive and concise. The photographs are of great quality and of images of eagles rarely seen by the public. A truly great book for those interested in American history, the eagle as a symbol of our republic, and those that enjoy the decorative eagle as an art object.

Though this book is geared to leadership for blacks and blacks would more than likely identify with some of the examples and struggles in the book, the book provides Biblical and practical tips on leadership and wisdom that any race can appreciate! It's a shame this book is out-of-print. It has so much to offer the African-American community.

I am a Seminary Professor and I use this book in my classes for Leadership and Administration. The diverse backgrounds of the leaders make this resource explode with potential for training a new generation of leaders. I highly recommend it.

The Messianic Seal of the Jerusalem Church
Published in Paperback by Olim Publications (01 July, 1999)
Amazon base price: $12.99
Average review score:

The Messianic Seal is an important archeological discovery, and this book is an excellent resource. Part one gives a brief history of the Essene sect with whom the Seal orignated, and part two expounds on the signifigance that this discovery has to the Church and the world today. This is the definitive work regarding the Messianic Seal.

I found this book fascinating with an historical insight I didn't learn in seminary. The first Christian Church was Jewish, connected to Mount Zion where the Upper Room had been built over King David's tomb, and the first Christians used a symbol that combined the Menorah, Star of David, and Fish into one pattern. Within a few centuries, this symbol was reduced to just the Fish in the wake of Rome's purging of all Jewish characteristics out of Christianity. The book contains pictures of archeological strikes of the symbol that have been found - findings that have been suppressed by both Jewish Orthodox and Roman Catholic leaders. The first part of the book traces the backdrop and development of the Essene community, its Messianic connection with the House of David, and the elimination of its influence by the time of the Council of Nicea in 325 A.D. The second half of the book shows the significance of each part of the triune symbol and its meaning for Jews and Christians today. If the foundation of Christianity is Messianic Judaism, this book is central to an understanding of the Church's identity and future and rightly calls for a reconciliation of Jew and Gentile believers.

Just read this to my third graders during a lesson on the beach habitat and the effect of an oil spill. I had the students brainstorm on what they would do to clean up a spill and then read them the book to see if it matched our predictions. They loved the cute seal too.

For girls who think Prince William is good looking (just like me!) You would die for this book! It is the best! I think it gives good information! I think many people will enjoy this book! My applause to Gloria Rand! Great Job! Thanks

The book provides an excellent look at some of the more technical aspects of mechanical seal design. It is a very good reference for any rotating equipment engineer. While it has some very intricate details, it does provide a lot of real word applicable knowledge.

I agree with the previous review... this text is an excellent source of information regarding mechanical face seals. It is detailed enough to satisfy your curiosity regarding some of the details, yet it is written in a manner that has proven easy to read.
I have found it very useful to read this book, then search for and read the technical papers Mr. Lebeck has written since 1991.

A young boy discovers that his mother is in fact a magical seal, trapped in human form by his father, who cannot keep his promis to set her free.
This book was written and illustrated by my father, and is one of my favorites.
Wonderful qualities of light are used in each picture.

The Seal Mother is a beautiful tale that works on two levels. First and foremost, it is an enchanting story that captivates childrens' imaginations. Second, it reminds us all that when we are called back to the sea, it is where our soul needs to be.

This was a bit slow to start, but quickly evolved into a book that was difficult to put down. It did an excellent job of describing combat situations that could only be handled by individuals as tough and tenacious as Navy SEALs. I rate it as one of the best military action books I've had the pleasure to read in a long time. In fact, I 've made it a point to seek out other books by this author.

Dick Couch was a REAL navy Seal officer, (vs the usual phoneys who are crawling out of the woodwork). This is probably the best novel ever written about Viet Nam seal operations. I rate it up there with "The Element of Surprise" with "Element" being possible the best non-fiction book. Couch's other fiction books are , unfortunatly not as good.

This novel could be a real story taken from the headlines of some of the terrorists who live in our world. George knows how to weave a story based upon his first hand military experience and his knowledge of what "really happens". It is an engrossing story that is hard to put down. Bravo.

Move over Spillane, good bye Le Carre', a new star is born: George Vercessi! Is it reality or fiction?....... is it fiction or reality? Only who knows know. Read and ........ maybe you'll find out.

I thought this was a great book. It is a detailed report of what really happened over in Vietnam and who was doing it. This book really tells how it happened, when it happened, and why it happened. This is a must read for anyone even remotely interested in unconventioinal warfare.

"SEALs" is the book version of a historical master's thesis written by Tim Bosiljevac, a highly respected career SEAL officer (and former enlisted Army Ranger). His work is essentially a diary of SEAL operations in Vietnam. It moves chronologically through the arrival of UDTs in the early 60's to the departure of US forces in 1975. The book's matter of fact description of numerous operations, taken from SEAL Team logs, allows the reader to appreciate the complexity of the intelligence gathering systems employed by the SEALs to generate their own target lists. The detailed descriptions of equipment carried and the synopses of patrol orders allows will appeal to Soldiers interested in finding out how the "best of the best" prepared and executed missions in the Rung Sat. This book is highly recommended for current and former Special Operators.

Having read books 1-5 in the SEALS:The Warrior Breed series, I couldn't wait to get my hands on book 6, Marks of Valor. The book is an excellent continuance in the series of characters which I have grown attached to. In the book, there could have been a little more action. The book spent more time on getting to know the SEALs and how it was like back in America during the Vietnam War. (I'm one of those who like to read about the guerrilla fighting) I think H. Jay Riker is writing an excellent series and this book continues to pull me deeper into it. Excellent work, Mister Riker. I can't wait to read "In Harm's Way" and other books following it in this excellent and ongoing series.

One of the greatest books I have ever read. Riker did a great job on this one. It had a little something for everyone. Good action, a little love, and some real life type situations from the homefront made this one a must read.
