A Child is Parent to the Adult
If the book is 1/10 as fascinating as the movie, it's a winner. A 'must see' for all parents, educators, POLITICIANS!, sociologists, mental health professionals and everyone else who cares about who we are as humans. Entertaining as well as deeply thought-provoking.

Too bad it's out of print.
This is a 3-story anthology with nuclear war as a common theme. By far the best is Spinrad's entry, which (I think) is not available anywhere else. It's a hilarious tale of a pot-smoking Arab oil sheik bent on acquiring nukes to annihilate Israel, and an attendant power struggle between a screwball American president (a former used-car salesman) and a computer-animated corpse of the Soviet Communist Party Secretary General. All the comdey ingredients are there and Spinrad makes the best of them!

A Must Have for Young Lawyers in Alabama
Whether a law student, a young lawyer, or an experienced attorney, Alabama Tort Law is a must. Roberts and Cussimano provide a comprehensive look at the history of tort law in Alabama complete with many case citations. The book is excellent for hashing out possible theories, discerning awkwardly written statutes, or finding a quick reference for citation purposes when preparing a brief. As a first time law clerk, I have found the content invaluable. Each litigator in my current firm have copies on their shelves and the library contains a copy as well. Roberts and Cusimano are currently working on a third edition. This will continue to be a valuable tool for all in the legal profession no matter what stage of the game.

Review of Ambulatory Pediatrics
...Since 1968 the field of ambulatory (general or community)pediatrics has developed rapidly and today most pediatric departmentsin the United States have a large division of general pediatricsresponsible for patient care, teaching and research in all out-of-hospital settings. Such divisions are also responsible for the care of children with complex chronic diseases both in the hospital and the community.

Ambulatory Pediatrics has 81 chapters with 103 contributors from various American universities. The book is divided into four major sections: Child health in the 21st century, health promotion and disease prevention, management of disease and the practice of contextual and integrative child care. The new edition has undergone many changes with less duplication of topics from the more traditional pediatric textbooks. The focus in this edition is more on the clinician's role in health promotion, disease prevention, adaptation, early intervention, coordination of the care of children with chronic illnesses, diagnosis and treatment of children with psychosocial problems and the role of the family and the community in child health.

In Ambulatory Pediatrics you will find chapters on homeless children, maternal literacy, child labor, poverty, self-hypnosis, self-care and international health perspectives. In the section on health promotion you will find chapters on home visits, telephone care and computers in pediatrics. ...

Ambulatory Pediatrics is a book that can be warmly recommended to the pediatrician working in general pediatrics, the out-patient department and the community pediatrician.

Great For Beginners
I Came across this book at the library and decided it was time to get my own copy. It focuses on information for the beginner as well as teaching techniques for instructors. It goes very in depth as to what makes a good trainer plane, equipment, and flying practices. This book stresses on-the-ground and in-the-air safety. There are many great pictures and diagrams and the explanations are very clear.

Indispensible for Understanding Adolescent Girls
If you're public health professional, a teacher, a social worker, or even a politician, dealing with teen pregnancy at any level, you don't really understand what's going on, unless you've walked the walk, or read Kristin Luker's Dubious Conceptions, Judith Musick's Young, Poor and Pregnant, or Norine Johnson et al's (Eds.) Beyond Appearance: A New Look at Adolescent Girls. If you haven't been in their (adolescent mothers') shoes, but you have the social conscience and sense of social justice to want to help these kids, these three works are, in my view, indispensible reading. If you depend on organizations like The National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy for your good ideas, you have really been missing the boat. Come down to earth and discover their real world.
