Excellent
Excellent book to be used as both a text and review source. Icons on the side of pages tend to be more distracting than helpful.

Illinois Issues, devoted to Illinois politics, has published its second edition of this collection of sketches of Illinois governors. A colorful and sometimes idealistic lot.

An exciting way to learn MR imaging of the brain
This is an excellent collection of high quality MR images of the brain, each accompanied by a brief clinical history, radiologist's findings, a discussion, and a list of suggested reading. The 100 topics cover a vast area of clinical neurology, from common disorders to the uncommon and the rare. The presentation in the form of a teaching file gives the reader the opportunity to study the cases in an interactive way. As a practicing neurologist, I found going through the pages of this book an enjoyable, and of course, a profitable experience. I have no doubt that all those interested in clinical neurology, from undergraduates and postgraduates to practicing clinicians will find this book an exciting way to learn MR imaging of the brain and sharpen their clinical acumen.

Wonderful Books
When I was in Canada a few years ago I bought a copy of "Murmel, Murmel, Murmel"--in fact I bought three copies! I had never heard of Munsch before, but this little book ("Murmel . . .") caught my eye because it is about a little girl who finds a baby who can only say "Murmel . . .", and the little girl tries to find someone to care for the baby. At the time, my granddaughter was in foster care and did not understand why she was not with her mother, but when we read this book (over and over again!), she finally had some understanding that maybe a mother can't care for her children, but someone else would love to! Great author, such understanding and compassion! Good illustrations. I'm glad they are finally available in the US.

Munschworks Rocks!
Robert Munsch is my classes favorite author! He is a really funny man.He tackles really strange topics(farts, peeing, etc) and has my class in hysterics. He is a wonderful author for teaching classes to read. He has a lot of predictable text in his books so the classes can read along. One of the nicest things about Robert Munsch is the fact he answers the children's letters. I have written to him at least four times with four different classes and he has written back each time. The reason I like the Munschwork books some much is the print is bigger and the pictures are bigger so the kids can see the both a little bit easier. He has written at least twenty books so I can have a Munsch break every day after lunch. If you want your class to enjoy story time buy Robert Munsch!

Munschworks is great
Robert Munch has done all teachers and parents a favor bycompiling some of his more popular stories into onecollection. Children at my school love it when I take out this book. Munschworks is a great tool to involve young children in emergent literacy. The stories "Thomas' Snowsuit", "David's Father" and "I have to go" really get the children involved in the telling of the story which instills begining reading skills in the young reader. The children have these stories read to them so much that they end up memorizing the story and they can tell it to you. The children also like the silliness of "The paper bag princess" and like to make up different endings for this story. The idea to put five Munsch stories together is a wonderful one. Michael Martchenko and Munsch make a great tag team in the world of children's literature. The children in my classroom can't agree more. END

FABULOUS AND INTERESTING
I happen to found this book at our local library and check it out thinking that my 6 year old would enjoy it. Much to my surprise it was my 2 year old that was so engrossed by the baby in the hole and Robin desperately looking for her a home. The tone of voice that you can use to read this book will captivate your children too. ENJOY! WE DID.

The New Biology: Discovering the Wisdom in Nature
I thoroughly enjoyed The New Biology for its refreshing and riveting presentation of the microscopic in light of the macroscopic - both in terms of the biological and the logical. From animal behavior to accounting for systemic variation in terms of turning on DNA codes, the book is a very readable and insightful rendering of biological phenomena and interpretation. Although written by a physicist and a philosopher, the book is rich with quotations and findings from pre-eminent biologists that support the theses of the writers. The authors make a compelling case for purpose in evolution and cooperation rather than competition as the guiding principle in living things and communities. A physicist is well-equipped to make the case for "a new biology" in light of the new physics born in 1905 with relativity and quantum theory. The authors argue persuasively, and often using the words of famous biologists, that the mechanistic reductionist paradigm that assumes life is merely the sum of its inorganic parts is rooted in a outdated Newtonian understanding. In order to understand the complexity and integration of living things, the organismic must be seen as more than the sum of chemical phenomena. Using hundreds of examples from the panoply of living things and the findings of experts in their biological fields, the authors reveal the larger organic whole that defies sterile inorganic explanations and take to task Darwinian dogma that a gradual natural selection based on survival of the fittest explains nature as we now know it.

Excellent practical cases from real life!
I require this text in my graduate New Venture course at Western Michigan University. The real life cases and fundamental concepts covered provide a great foundation for New Venture teaching. I also require my start-up consulting clients to read Chpt 1,2 & 3 along with the case study "R&R". Good way to find out if they have what it takes. I first used and enjoyed this book from the other side of the class during my MBA studies at the GSB - University of Chicago.
