Very Informative/Useful Information
I think that this book is a must for anyone writing a paper on Homosexuality, Homophobia, or Gay Rights. The authors do an excellent job at debuking many stereotypes found it America. They are obviously extremely emotionally involved in the struggle for gay rights and they display their emotion excessively in this book. Maybe even to a point of indulgence, but it still is greatly helpful, so 4 Stars.

Outstanding Book
This is one of the most thought-provoking books on any "morality" subject that I have ever read. The authors are very clear in explaining the difference between 'special' vs. 'equal' rights. It is unfortunate that the audience for this book will be almost exclusively gay. It is one that EVERYONE should read.

If you buy it, pass it on to a friend. If you have straight friends, buy them a copy, ask them to read it, and tell you what they think. After all, it's not that expensive, and maybe they'll even understand you better!

A must read
I am so happy to have found this book. The authors have done an outstanding job of presenting and explaining the issues of Gay rights versus special rights. This book does a great service to people who are interested in understanding why the U.S government and Fundamentalist right are so opposed to extending civil liberties to all citizens. Very concise and thought provoking. I loved it! Thanks to the authors for finally explaining the real issues behind gay equality.

A classic
This book is wonderful and MUST be read by anyone interested in Roman history. It's focused on emperors life, reported annedocts and facts.

Just beware: not all the facts are considered to be true.

A must for advocates of democracy opposed to demagogues
I find this book essential not, as most readers see, a simple history of Rome, but rather as a grim example of the excesses possible when democracy fails and absolute power is contained in one human being(Rome beginning its career as a wonderfull Republic). Although most see Suetonius' vivid descriptions of lust and other deviant vices as mere gossip, I propose that is exactly what he is trying to elucidate for the ages to see. These same excesses gave rise to almost the entire fundamental ideas of the religion known as Christianity and their whole hearted opposition to orgies, torture, crucifictions, feeding to the lions and the like, all due to the whims of deranged monkeys who called themselves Caesar. Read for yourself, for example, the history behind St. Valentine's day.

Read your primary sources people!
In historical study there are two types of literature. Secondary sources are written based on the original writings which are known as Primary sources. If you want to lern about the earliest Roman Emperors this source is indispensable. True, some of it is not historical and Suetonius is somewhat of a gossip monger at times, seeing as he explains in detail the various sexual appetites of each Caesar as well as other deviant behaviour. Still, this is one of the foremost primary sources about those famous Romans and most of the history books written on the Caesars are standing on Suetonius' shoulders.

ONE STEP BENEATH EXCELLENCE
At 1773 pages, the "Manual of Clinical Microbiology" is a good (medium size) reference for a clinical or diagnostic microbiologist. It offers detailed information on both practical and theoretical aspects of the subject. Its authority is unquestionable. Pathologists, doctors, pharmacists, nurses, and anybody whose business concerns infectious diseases will find the book useful.
The only setback is that it is awkwardly expensive. Many potential buyers would be enticed by cheaper alternatives: there are lots of them out there.

The classical Microbiology laboratrory text
This book is comprehensive, well put together and thorough in all of its aspects. It is an invaluable text in the microbiology department. I and my workplace have a copy, and it is the most often refered text in our laboratory only Bergeys and Mandell come close. All aspects including bacteriology, virology, parasitology, mycology, laboratory metheds etc etc are covered it is a one stop clinical microbiology text. I have no resevations in wholeheartedly recommending this book. The only thing I would add is that I would like to see it on CD-ROM

it is very good book
this is very good book , but u have to know the basic back ground of microbiology because , it give u the smallest detaile , and the unusuall things in microbiology, but it is the bible of clinical microbiology

Mmm, Review
Mmm, Cookies is a wonderful book!In our class we did an author study. It was a web page, and we put a lot of work into it.The way the story was put was just amazing! The order he put the story. Other books he wrote are very excellent. The boy in the story finds play clay and actually makes cookies out of it. He gives it to his mom! Can you believ that? He actually gave his mom that looks like play dough. My reading buddie especially liked the book. Robert Munsch is a really talented guy along with his illistrator. I recommend this for kids 3-8. a little more desription in the end would have made this book much better.

Mmmm Mmmm GOOD!!!
I read this story quite frequently with my two children, 4 1/2 and 9 months of age. The repetition and use of sounds when eating the fake cookies is so much fun. We really get into to it and then after reading it we have fun making our own playdoh cookies. It's great to bring the family together.

MMM, Fun
Like the other Munsch books, this one is wacky and funderful. Also, like the other Munsch books, it began as a story told to children. It builds to a crescendo at the end when the story explodes. My 7-year-old likes the way Munsch's kids are level-headed while the adults tend to go off the deep end.

A Great Book for Boys between 10 and 13!
Mostly Michael is a book about a boy who is eleven-years-old. He recieved a diary for his birthday and felt it was a stupid gift. Everyday he tries to write in it telling all of his thoughts and feelings. He goes through some very rough times. He dad works a lot and he has to help his pregnant mom with the housework and a little sister who can be a pain. Michael is pretty close with his grandma. He loves it when she comes to visit. She teaches him all sorts of way to make Mindy, his sister, behave. When the time comes for his mom to have the baby, his dad is out of town and it is Michael's responsibility to help his mom. How will he do it? Read to find out what he does for her.

Mostly Micheal is an awesome story!
Mostly Micheal is so good. I would recomend it to peoplefromfifth grade and older because some parts kids would be very imbarassedabout.(I'm age 11)

Fantastic
This is the best day by day account of a young boy that I have laid my hands on. We learn about the daily events that shape eleven-year-old Michael's life, from the trite stuff like weather and what was for dinner, to the wonderful, heartwarming events like welcoming in a new sibling. By the end of the book, you will feel like you have gotten to not only know Michael very well, but will also have become his friend. A must read for children of the junior high school age.

The Nuremberg War Crimes Trial of 1945-46: A Documentary History (Bedford Series in History and Culture)
Published in Hardcover by Palgrave Macmillan (1997)
Author: Michael Robert Marrus
Amazon base price: $35.00
Average review score:

Well worth the read
Another good read for those interested in this field

Grand Book
This a brillant book in how it shifts through the various documents in order to make the reader fully aware of what has happened. Marrus allows for a good mixture of both procecuting and defending testimony from the Trial and the various confrences during, before and after the Trial. He gives a very good documentation of how the Allies came to teh conviction of 19 Nazis. As a historian of the Trials, I recfonmmend it to all who want to learn more of the Trials.

Well done,thorough but not overwhelming>
The author has done a very good job of using primary sources to tell the story of the Allied attempt to be fair when punishing the Nazi leadership. I was impressed with his ability to tell the story and allow the reader to make his or her own conclusions. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in the History of the Nazis and the Worlds response after World War II.

Vertigo a challeging symptom
It is a comprehensive book dealing with vestibular physiology and pathology. It covers the possible causes of vestibular disorders and the clinical presentation as well as the differential diagnosis. I found it very helpful as a resident in trying to understand the pathophysiology of vestibular dysfunction. I also found it helpful in classifying the etiology as peripheral versus central.

Disorders of the Vestibular System is a first rate source
This is an up-to-date, comprehensive review of disorders of the vestibular system written by leaders in the field. The book is divided into four parts: basic vestibular mechanisms, clinical evaluation, common vestibular diseases, and treatment of vertigo. Part I reviews the anatomy and physiology of the vestibular system with emphasis on clinically relevant material. Part II describes features in the patient's history, examination, and laboratory evaluation that help the clinician determine the probable site of lesion and likely pathophysiology. The history is emphasized since it is the critical first step for understanding the patient's complaints. Part III covers the differential diagnosis and specific treatments of common neurologic disorders. One chapter provides an overview of the common syndromes seen in neurotology. Part IV discusses general principles of treatment that are relevant to all vestibular disorders. This book should be useful to all physicians who treat patients complaining of dizziness. It can be used as a text by students entering the field or as a comprehensive source of reference to those in internal medicine, family practice, otolaryngology, neurology, head and neck surgery, and neurosurgery.

learning fan
Two parts make this book. In the first part Benardete shares memories of his youth and family, education and professional preparation, friends and colleagues. This section is gossipy in the best of ways concerning the climate and personalities that made the University of Chicago and Harvard such dynamic places of learning during the last four decades or so. Bloom, Strauss, Grene, Rorty, Bellow, Dardan, Steiner, Rosen are some of the names named at the U of C alone. I loved reading that student members of the Committee for Social Thought pursued grand projects and perused authors in the voluminous reading time they were granted, allowing many to develop profoundly thick or curiosly sharp lenses with which to scrutinze the world. Benardete peppers most accounts with humour and sharp descriptions. I enjoyed to the Rolls Royce Road Trip.

The second part of the book presents formulation of the ideas and opinions that Benardete developed during his productive career as a scholar and teacher. The most frequently engaged authors are Plato and Homer, but the author smears the canon of classical works with his thoughts. I cannot say I am convinced by or necessarily in agreement with many of Bernardete's idiosyncratic readings, but I remain dazzled by the cleverness and intensity of the author's talent as a reader and interpreter of ancient writings.

The second part of the book is surely richer and more likely to engender rereading. The first part makes for excellent mind candy. On the whole the volume nicely circuits the career of Benardete, who seems to have been an admired teacher and thoughtful scholar. Funny and light, heavy and thoughtful, this book resembles its author.

Platonists in Rolls Royces
A nice, chatty book. Benardete's insights into Plato, Homer, and Sophocles are beyond compare, and here you get to hang out with him for a while. Time ran out on these conversations, but one wishes both for a little bit more "behind-the-scenes" fun with the Rat Pack Straussians tooling around Chicago in antique Rolls Royces, drinking, and arguing (hardly Kingsley Amis stuff) and for some indications of Benardete's intentions. --Keep it next to your copy of Bellow's Ravelstein for handy reference when watching how the future unfolds.

Very helpful & informative
I just recently purchase this book, at a time when I was getting a bit discourage as a stylist. It helped me to realize that there are good days and bad days and to keep my head up! I believe that the book chosed me at that very moment. It is very helpful in terms of preparation for production shoots. Also informative in knowing the different ways each photographer preps and how Mrs. Coddington binds with each photographer's concepts. I have had the pleasure of working with Mrs. Coddington as a model, and I can confirm that she is a down to earth person which makes one feel comfortable when working for her. Thank you for sharing your 30 yrs!

stylist supreme
Grace: Thirty years of fashion in Vogue is a delightful collection of some of the most memorable and influential fashion photographs since the nineteen seventies.....all of them touched by the imaginative and chic eye of super stylist and editor Grace Coddington. The range of fashion fantasies is impressive. From the tough erotic chic of helmut newton, whimsical femininity of sarah moon on thru the joyful, innocent sexiness of bruce weber, Miss coddington helps each image become something entertaining and memorable. The printing is terrific , layouts are elegant , plus, perfectly boxed in a delicious and very chic pumpkin. Well worth it's luxe weight....
