Code of Silence
I got a chance to see Andre on Sally. After hearing his story my heart went out to him but I was angry with his mother. I changed my mind when I read the book and heard the whole story. Congratulations to your Mom on her recovery. I'm glad you two stuck together. It really makes us stop and think about the decisions we make in life. Someone else is always affected by them. It is hard to belive that children can be so heartless. Andre you need to take your story to every city, school and jail in the country. I hope you recieve the funding to do it. This is a project many as well as myself would have no problem helping to support.
I am sorry for your tragedy but please do not blame yourself. I pray that the peace of God will rest upon you and your family. And I pray that you live a joyful and fulfilled life until time to meet your loved ones again in a better place. Thank you for sharing your story and I'm sorry for your pain.

Couldn't put it down!
This book is so great. I just couldn't put it down. I took it to work with me and read it every chance I got. Those poor kids, it was so heartbreaking but yet it was a in your face drama that was so moving.

A real international Commentary
Whay I like about this commentary is its real international and interconfesional approach. When you read a commentary on a biblical passage, you will find that the interpretative perspective enriches your own perspective as you find what a scholar from other part of the world is saying about his/her understanding of the biblical message.

In this commentary you will find the work of people from all over the world; and there is a great participation of third world Bible scholars and women.

Comentario Biblico Internacional
One of the best comentaries I have seen in Spanish. I do not know how can so many writers and authors get together to write one book! This is not your regular comentary; this is from people who know to people who know. I love the articles about the translation of the Bible, pastoral aids, the Bible and arqueology, and the fact that it has the books included in the catholic Bible. You need in your bookshelf!

one of my earliest memories
I read this book as a child and it was my favorite book growing up. I must have checked it out of the library 25 times. Unfortunately, I remembered the story, but not the title. I had a vague recollection of the author, but could never find the title. Thanks to Amazon, I can now find a copy for my daughter (and read it again myself!).

Best book I read as a child--every kid must read it
This is one of the first books I ever read when I was about five. To this day (22 years later) I still remember it vividly. The wonderful story is enhanced by frequent illustrations of the hideous Ness. Any child will love this book.

little known genius gives glimpses into his masterwork
This book contains introductory material in the first half, and excerpts from The Temple of Man in the second half, making it the perfect introduction to this author. Schwaller de Lubicz proves countless points about ancient Egypt's level of philosophical, cultural and mathematical sophistication that eliminate conventional ideas about history as likely or even possible. It's too bad this work doesn't reach the audience it deserves. Less compelling is the fact that the bulk of his work, including this book, is nothing but his own medieval, alchemical philosophy projected onto the Egyptians. His ideas are interesting on an intellectual level, but not to be taken literally, and they won't exactly lead you to the "philospher's stone". Unlike de Lubicz's measurements or his observation of water erosion on the Sphinx, which we can reproduce, his interpretations of the meaning of the heiroglyphs are entirely subjective and spring from his own prejudices. So there is much gold here, but you must know how to separate it from the fool's gold.

BEST BOOK I'VE EVER READ ON EGYPTIAN PHILOSOPY
Understanding this philosopy makes you a good student in any religious school.I even dared to consider sufism from this standpoint and asked questions such as "what's the place of form-and- geste in islamic dinamic meditation techniques?" Extraordinary for understanding egyptian painting and architecture.

A great book!
I thought this book was extremely good. The characters seemed alive, and the plot was very entertaining. I couldn't put it down! The authors did a good job of building upon the previous book, but I'd have liked to read more about the dragons. Hopefully they weren't left out of the book on purpose! I can't wait for the third book to come out, I hope it's soon! If you've read the first book, you have to read this one!

neck breaking adventure
IF you read the first one you have to read this one. And if you didn't read the first one you have to read this one. The breakneck speed this story runs at made it impossible for me to put the book down. And there are absolutely no characters you could care less about in this book. The only thing I could find wrong was that I wondered if the authors had maybe too many characters, because I want to know what happens to Kelyan? He was there, and then after everything he does for the Elvenbane she just ups and forgets he's around? Please tell me that was an oversight! But this will be one that will keep you up until the dawn finishing it.

Waystar, the Thieve's Guild and a Forerunner Artifact
Ziantha, another of Andre Norton's outsider characters with a wild talent, was working for Lady Yasa, a Salariki Veep in the Guild, when she was compelled to aport a Forerunner artifact.

If the sentence above means anything to you then settle back, you are going to love Forerunner Foray. If it sounds like so much gobbilty gook then you are in a for a bigger treat-- welcome to the far future world of Andre Norton.

Humanity has spread out to the stars like fluff blown from a dandelion head. Terrans have met alien races, been exposed to alien suns, and mutated until it is hard to say what the original stock was.

Ziantha, the heroine of Forerunner Foray, is Terran to the eye, but she has a wild talent that makes her both feared and valued. She has psychic abilities that first draw her to a chance seen artifact in a room where she is engaged in some highly illegal activity. Unable to forget the item, she later aports it from the apartment with the aid of an alien "pet", kept by Ziantha's employer, much as Ziantha herself is kept. This release of power is noted by a prowling sensitive.

This event is noted by Lady Yasa's superiors and she is warned to disappear for a while. This fits in very well with the Salariki's own plans for Ziantha.

This book gives a closer look at the underworld of the future, including the mysterious Waystar, an outlaw hideout. There is also an interesting adventure story as Ziantha and her puruser are drawn into the past of the source of the Forerunner artifact.

There are some darker themes played out in this story but it's also good space opera and better than average Norton, which is very good indeed.

A simple little job for an Esper thief...
Don't confuse this book with _Forerunner_ (public libraries sometimes mix them up). They're not part of the same series, in that they don't deal with the same characters or even the same planets, just the same universe. _Forerunner Foray_ is actually 3rd in the Shan Lantee series (see _Storm Over Warlock_, _Ordeal in Otherwhere_), although it won't be apparent until you're well along in the book.

"Forerunner" is a term used to refer to long-dead civilizations, where 'long' is measured in millions of years rather than millenia. Forerunner artifacts are sometimes of immense value, particularly examples of technology that outstrip that of the current galactic civilization. In this universe, archeologists have to compete not only with legitimate government agencies over custody of their finds, but with the Guild, that shadowy, loose organization of the Galaxy's criminals.

The evening our story begins, Ziantha, a Guild Esper, ventures into the office of one of the many power-brokers who reside on the pleasure-planet Korwar. She's not there even to touch any of the valuable artwork - just to use her talent to identify specific computer memory cubes in his safe, and to copy their contents into her own memory without touching them, or leaving any trace. But while her defenses are down for the transfer, she is drawn to one of the artifacts - the ugly lump of rock on the coffee table, which is more than it seems.

Ziantha's superior, the Lady Yasa, organizes an expedition to trace the artifact back to its origins, during which Ziantha is drawn into its past.

This book provides a different view of life on Korwar (the starting point for several of Norton's science fiction novels), more Forerunner civilization(s), and a closer look at the Guild.

Some background information, for flavor: Korwar's capital city, during the Council/Confederation war mentioned in other books (e.g. _Dark Piper_) was the site of a refugee camp. After the war, those whose worlds had been destroyed (or traded away over the peace table), were trapped there, so it became the Dipple, a huge slum blighting the otherwise serene face of Korwar. Troy Horan (_Catseye_) and Niall Renfro (_Judgement on Janus_) were of the first generation, brought there as refugee children; Ziantha is of the next generation, born there.

Ziantha's superior, Lady Yasa, is an example of the interesting supporting cast. She identified Ziantha, then a street child on begging detail, as a potential sensitive, and rescued her from the Dipple. One of the few high-ranking females in the Guild, she operates behind a respectable (and quite real) cover as the operator of a powerful Salariki trading firm. (Did I mention that Yasa is a feline Salarika rather than a human? :) Aliens have crooks too. Equal opportunity organization, the Guild.)

If you like this sidelight on the Guild, you might want to try _The Zero Stone_, whose protagonist is the son of a respected Guild fence and appraiser.

Simply excellent
Maximilian Kolbe was one of the 20th century's greatest witnesses to truth and what it means to be fully human, an extraordinarily courageous man, and yet so humble that few will have heard of him. This book is superb in conveying his greatness, and what it means to say that someone is a great saint. Suffering from chronic tuberculosis and with less than one full lung's capacity, he went as a missionary to Japan where he published his first newspaper within a month, in Japanese. During the war, his monastery gave shelter to 1,500 Jews. When the Gestapo were taking him and other Franciscan brothers to Aushwitz, he managed to stay cheerful saying that for once, their mission was paid for by someone else. What mission? Survivors of all beliefs remember his constant smile, his kindness in the dark of the night (he would go to the side of the dying to comfort them). In the end, he volunteered to die of starvation in the place of a young father so he might live to see his family again. When it comes to witnessing Christ, Kolbe was simply awesome. Inspiring yet sober. In one word, moving.

"Forget Not Love" is Special
"Forget Not Love" is the story of St. Maximilian Kolbe, the Polish Franciscan who offered to die in the place of a married man at Auschwitz, yet this book is about so much more. It creates a portrait of Kolbe as a real human being, it tells of one man's zeal for his faith and country, and it is about what love really is. This book is one of the best I have read on St. Maximilian. Frossard's beautiful writing is an added plus. I HIGHLY reccomend this book to all!

A Student's Perspective
The word BORING is what usually comes to mind when I read textbooks for my classes. They are not something I look forward to because I typically drift off into never-never-land. Usually they're missing some dynamic, and as a result they just don't seem to capture my attention.

However, this textbook sparked a DIFFERENT reaction in me. First off, I found the futures and opinions market interesting and the material in the textbook easy to understand. It was teeming with examples and diagrams that enhanced my grasp on the fundamentals behind the market. Unlike other textbooks, I found that I ENJOYED the reading. In particular, I enjoyed the numerous real-world applications provided in the boxes throughout the chapters.

I believe the greatest asset in this book are these real-world applications like: how price movements in the orange juice markets market could forecast freezing temperatures better than the U.S. National Weather service, to the enormous role hedging plays for the airline industries. By intertwining stimulating examples into the required nitty-gritty, it held my attention. I thought reading this textbook was both educational and FUN. It sparked in me a new-found enthusiasm in futures and opinions.

Futures and Options Markets: An Introduction
An outstanding introduction to futures and options markets, clear, concise and bursting with examples and current issues and controversies. Unlike most futures and options textbooks this text focuses on all types of assets - commodity, financial, energy etc. The book's blend between theory and applications and examples is outstanding. The applications, which are an intergral part of each chapter makes this a must for students and established researchers who want to gain a full understanding of the current state of the futures and options industry.

Good Advice for All
I've been running a video game company that is now over 10 years old. It is refreshing to read a book that distills the important information, approaches the industry with a clear mind, and promotes useful thought even for veterans. Well done!

A lifesaver
I manage nearly 50 software engineers at a fortune 500 company. Once I got this book, I realized that our engineer contracts are extremely weak given the volatile nature of many software developers (something I've personally witnessed), and if anything ever went wrong under our existing terms, we'd be in a very litigious situation. Thanks to the information presented here, however, I've been able to outline a strategy for our legal department to consider for a revised draft that could potentially save our company millions of dollars and countless manhours of paperwork in averted lawsuits and other such nightmares. Take it from me-- most engineering managers and entrepreneurs are not as well versed in legal issues as they should be. This book was a huge eye-opener and I recommend it highly.

Finally, somone that knows something about law!
This is a great book for anyone that wants to know the actual details of media related law and intellectual property, but doesn't have the time to get a law degree. I own a small software and web company and we are constantly paying attorneys to review "potential" copyright, patent, and other infringements. I have wasted so much time paying for legal advice, but it seems like these experts never can give me a straight answer. I have been looking for a book that can be understood by a non-attorney, but that has explicit examples of copyright law, trademarks, what is legal, and what is not. After reading this book, I feel 100x more confident now, and I immediately no longer need legal advice in many areas, I KNOW the law in the areas, and can be confident that my decisions are reasonable. I highly recommend this book to any executive or business person that is in the intellectual property loop, but is sick of not understanding what is what.

Beautiful Bud
What a great collection, the pictures were just amazing and I certainly won't be taking the postcards out of this book. As well as the great pictures there are also detailed captions, some of which are funny but mostly descriptions of the growing set up or the strains.

Totally Amazing Pictures, Totally Amazing Buds
Wow, I couldn't believe how great these cards are, I felt like I should have been able to smell the sweet buds. And the size of the growing facility was mind boggling, Trichome Tech must have more bud than they know what to do with.
