Schwaller De Lubicz has deciphered Egyptian Philosophy
This is a short jog into Rene's greater work Le Temple d'Homme. Sacred Science is a guide to the metaphysical world harnessed by the pharaoh. One will quickly agree with the well recorded research and analysis expertly layed out in this work. This book casts shadows on other books released about Egyptain Theocracy. This book traces the origin of Heliocentricity much farther back then Capernicus and sites the Pythagorian understanding behind the Cathlic "Heretics" of the middle ages. And consequently traces Pythagoros back to his roots, his training by the priests of the temples in Egypt for 15 years! This Book is filled with amazing revelations is dry and techincal, possibly aimed at the acedemic community, but If you enjoy Ancient History, Cause and Effect, Ancient Egypt or Greece, mythology or are a skeptic you will love this book.

The most thorough and accurate guide to Bay area dining.
I am very interested in reading restaurant reviews. We dine out very often, and found Gayot's guide to be very right on target. It was great to find a guidebook that also included wine country dining, as Sonoma County is an important and exciting area for food and wine. The reviewers were not biased towards famous or trendy restaurants. They mention several not yet well known "jewels" for the reader to discover. Much better than Fodor's or Zaggat's.

Segovia Technique

excellent diagrams of hand and sitting positions
This book has the best diagrams I have seen of some very hard to explain things about the classical guitar. You get to see hands from angles that really show you how they are supposed to be-I find other books take photos of players at odd angles and can misrepresent their playing positions.

A picture is worth a 1000 words
This book is an absolute must for the aspiring classical guitarist. The pictures of Segovia's hand positions are the best for learning , period. I have this book open at all times when practicing so i can watch his hands vs. watching my hands in a mirror. The Segovia Technique is in my opinion the only way to make classical guitar tones that please every and all ears. I also recommend The Art of Classical Guitar Playing. By Charles Duncan.

Segovia: My Book of the Guitar
Published in Hardcover by Putnam Pub Group Juv (1979)
Author: Andres Segovia
Amazon base price: $9.95
Average review score:

Excellent method book for the beginning classical guitarist.
This is an excellent book for the beginning classical guitarist seeking a self paced method of instruction. The book was written with the child musician in mind, but the level of difficulty really is more appropriate to an adult beginner. Especially nice are the short pieces at the end of the book. They are relatively simple but effective at building basic technique. At the same time they are musically very pleasing to the ear, such that you can play them over and over without becoming bored with the music. It is unfortunate they stopped publishing this small book.

Self-Images: 100 Women
Published in Hardcover by Edition Stemmle (1995)

Amazon base price: $49.95
Used price: $45.60

self-images... What's yours??
The idea behind this book is simple: 100 women models, one box camera, one white room with no props, one video monitor to see what the camera is seeing and one shutter chord to take a photo of yourself... nude. This is perhaps the first book of photography where the photographer himself is not actually doing the camera work. 100 women, from vastly different walks of life and ages, pose before the camera to capture how they see themselves. Rival had only two requests: don't move the camera, and photograph yourself in the nude. Like "Naked New York" by Greg Friedler, people looking for hot, "model perfect" women will be disappointed (I'd recommend Playboy or some other rag). Those who are looking for a wonderful, successful experiment in the model exerting control over her environment, vs. just passively posing, and the exploration of one's self-image, will find this book refreshing, tasteful and moving.

Must Have Resource For Quilters
For the quilter wondering how to set your stack of blocks, here is the answer in 80 different ways. Ms Hanson covers side by side settings, simple sashing, sashing and setting and many more. She also suggests which block patterns are best for each type of setting. And best of all is her Special Considerations chapter where you learn how to deal with blocks that aren't quite the same size and how to set an unusal number of blocks. She ends this great resource with a Set Design Work Sheet and Inventory which makes it a snap to determine how much material you will need to finish your project and a "Quick Reference Charts" page that simplifies many of the "common calculations you will need when designing your own masterpiece."
