I've read the White Notebook, but have not been able to get hold of the Black notebook as of yet. Even so, I'd definitely make the recomendation! Gide published the White Notebook at age 20, and never looked back on it with displeasure, though some of his views either changed slightly, or developed further with time. It's an insightful work - both into human nature, in general, and the author, in particular. Also, Baskin's footnotes and introduction are enormously helpful. A delight to the Gidean scholar.

The turning books are all interesting. Each giving a different insight into the WW series. Bringing new thoughts and ideas...a very satisfying read...as all the books in this trilogy were. They are all good additions to your library.

this was the first book that i read that i looked at the authors name so i counld find other books written by her.it starts with a photographer being where he shoudnt be and getting caught in a time travel experiment and being sent to the really,really ancient past. there is wonderful character development and great what if questions.the science is fuzzy this being more of a science fantasy than hard science fiction.this is a fun book.

As a dentist who is currently enrolled in a 3-day intensive course in ITI implant system , I found this book incredible in introducing the ITI sys. in implantology supported with many colored photographs of all cases treated with the system. I advice every dentist requisting basics in implantology , extensive information about implant materials , clinical decision and the surgical procedures , to add this well-recomended book to his collection .

Organic & Wholefoods is a book of beautiful photography and extensive and instructional text on all categories of food and ingredients, preparation and cultivation. I have never seen a book on these subjects done so satisfyingly well. It begins with definitions, history, and some basic nutrition to orient one and explain how "organic" really does come from and create health. Then, in inspirationally beautiful and intelligent fashion, the food categories are covered. Historical, cultural, horticultural and culinary information is presented. (also exciting recipes!) The animal and animal products sections are fabulously well done, too. There is a section on herbs, on oils & vinegars, on drinks...nothing is left out. The last few sections cover the kitchen, the organic garden and organic farming itself. This book is a feast and yet not intimidating or overwhelming. I'm "gushing", I know, but I have never found anything even close to this amazing. This book is inextinguishably thrilling.

Picasso says "the mask" has appeared very few times in human history, and that he is looking for it. The book is precious and makes one think deliciously on one's own "museum"
