A vital review of the current state of our health delivery
The book has been published. It is truly encyclopedic in its coverage of everything from medicine including medical education to surgery, nursing, pharmacy, psychotherapy, dentistry, execise and nutrition as well as hospitals, mental hospitals and nursing homes. Very important is a thoroughgoing analysis of the HMO and insurance company entrance into the lives of physicians and their patients. There is also a good deal of discussion of the role of government in health care. This is a must for everyone interested in this topic, whether professional, patient, medical student or political activist.
Historische Laut- und Formenlehre der lateinischen Sprache

A truly masterful...
treatment of the historical phonology of Latin. The following sections on morphology are not quite up to that high level. All in all, however, perhaps the most satisfying work on the subject.

A Historical Treasure!
By way of introduction, this book was originally planned to be part of the textbook, Hyperbaric Facility Safety: A Practical Guide, another first for the world of hyperbaric literature. As editor of the safety text, I initially wished to include a chapter on the history of hyperbaric chamber design as I am convinced that we must understand the role that engineering played/plays in hyperbaric facility safety. It was an easy task to select the author of this chapter as Gerhard Haux is recognized throughout the international hyperbaric community as truly "our chamber historian". When asked, he did not hesitate. When I received my first draft, it was virtually ready for publication! I knew immediately that this effort deserved to stand on its own merit and requested Best Publishing consider publishing it as a separate effort. They agreed; I omitted it from Hyperbaric Facility Safety: A Practical Guide; and, Mr. Haux' life-long effort now exists as a separate book - clearly a testiment to his knowlege on the evolution of hyperbaric chamber design.
Although my efforts were minor, I am honored to contribute to this historical masterpiece. Mr. Haux chronicals a detailed history of how hyperbaric chamber design has changed in terms of engineering, manufacturing, utility and function. He includes some extremely rare hyperbaric chamber photographs, previously not widely known. This book is a must for hyperbaric technicians, hyperbaric physicians and nurses, sports and commercial divers and especially pressure vessel engineers. If you have any interest in hyperbaric chambers and/or hyperbaric medicine at all, this text should be in your library!

Professor Kershaw delivers once again
Professor Kershaw's book describes the social impact of and reaction to the "Hitler Myth" created by the Nazi propaganda machine. It explains what the "Hitler Myth" was and the effect the Myth had in the German society. The book discusses the rise and development of the Myth during the pre-war years. It also explores the fall and final bankruptcy of the empty Myth. Generally, it is an excellent book on German society during the Nazi Era.
Hitler's War in the East, 1941-1945: A Critical Assessment

An Excellent Aid for Research
This work is an incredible help in tracking down resources concerning the Russo-German War (1941-45). Not only do Muller and Ueberschar list thousands of works in English, German, and Russian, but they walk the reader through the trends of the literature in the past five decades. It is definitely not an accessible book for the layperson, but if you plan to do scholarly work in the field of WWII studies, this work is a must.

A hallmark of twentieth century art
'Honey is flowing in all Directions' is an important historical document. It covers one of the most inventive and evocative works Joseph Beuys made for the Documenta exhibition 6 in Kassel, Germany in 1977. The Documenta is the world's foremost art manifestation, which happens every five years. This book can be perceived as a case study about the way Joseph Beuys thought and worked. The photographs in the book are made by Gerhard Steidl, the 'house photographer' of several Documenta's. Klaus Staeck, one of the foremost publishers and distributors of art books and special editions in Germany, published this book. It's a beautiful and inspiring publication that should be on every modern art lover's book shelf. Beuys' 'Honigpumpe am Arbeitsplatz', an installation in the central staircase at the Museum Fridericianum during Documenta 6 was a milestone. A large electrical pump squeezed fluid honey through a circuit of transparent tubes going up and down the staircase and entering adjacent spaces. The Honey Pump represented an Industry both of Vision and Discourse: Beuys' installation was physically and spiritually connected to a space behind the staircase where daily discussions took place. They were organized by the Free International College for Creativity and Interdisciplinary Research, an organization founded by Beuys. Its evocative power and intelligent social interface makes Honigpumpe am Arbeitsplatz a hallmark in the history of twentieth century art.

a bible book to learn Gibbs sampler and simulated annealing
This is absolute a bible book for any person who want to learn Gibbs sampler and simulated annealing seriously. The format of this book, though full of mathematical equations, is very self-evident and concise. Nothing is missing and nothing is redundent. It is an enjoyable journey to follow the logic and principle in this book, with all your attention in. There are full of in-depth discussion in all aspect of the Gibbs sampler, simulated annealing, from the visiting scheme to cooling schedule, and parallel algorithms. The references are excellent too. The author seems to have read all publications till 1995 about this topic and give an excellent detailed and in-depth survey in his book. At the end of your reading, you would have love the mathematical form the author used. Without these tools, many discussions in this book will be just impossible and groundless. I personally have read this book for several times.
The Jew in Christian Theology: Martin Luther's Anti-Jewish Vom Schem Hamphoras, Previously Unpublished in English, and Other Milestones in Church Do
Published in Hardcover by McFarland & Company (1992)
Amazon base price: $37.50
Average review score:
The definitive work in the area.
A remarkable, dispassionate, scholarly work tracing the largely sordid history of Christian church doctrines regarding Jews. The translation of "Of the Unknowable Name" was heretofore the only major work of Luther which was not translated into English. This was no accident, and was not simply because it was the most difficult of Luther's works to translate; the degree of violent outright bigotry in it is enough to raise the hairs on the back of the reader's neck. If we are not to repeat the mistakes of our past, we must bear in mind that the most renowned of Church theologians were but men, and as men, made hideous and consequential errors. This sobering and brilliant work should be the second book in every Christian's library.

An Absolutely Reliable Biography
Of all the biographies and interview books on Jung, this one is the cleanest and clearest -- if also the longest. It includes information in the form of quotes, extracts from letters, and occasional secondary sources. It does not include many opinions or judgments about Jung, his life or his work. It is the only place I've met Jung as a father, a traveler, and a guy with problems, as well as Jung the innovater and psychological pioneer. Alhough more of a scholarly work than a page-turner, to meet Jung and not his doppelganger, I reccomend this work.
