Dietrich et al. (Eds.) on Clifford algebras
This volume is an unusually inspired collection of papers by some of the most ingenious researchers in Clifford algebras. Since Clifford algebras and the closely related octonion and division algebras are themselves one of the most inspired and ingenious tools in mathematical physics, the reader of this volume cannot go wrong. It is important that mathematicians and physicists learn about Clifford algebras, regardless of their background. Clifford algebras, like most branches of algebra, have a remarkable simplicity that appeals to the researcher's intuition, and they also have a rigor and a logical development and categorization which is hard to beat in any other branch of mathematics. Clifford algebra goes one step beyond most algebras except perhaps Lie algebras and Grassmanian/tensor algebras in that it is applicable to geometry and geometric physics to a degree that is difficult to believe. For example, quaternions (a branch of Clifford algebra) are now being applied to aerospace and space exploration, as several important volumes recently published indicate. Chisholm in Great Britain, Pezzaglia in California, Hestenes in Arizona, Bayliss and Ackermann, Okubo, Benn, and numerous others have applied Clifford algebra to quantum theory (including quantum field theory and quantum gravity), general and special relativity, and so on. The algebra itself seems to lead researchers forward with less effort. Unlike vector analysis, which struggles with inner product and cross product formalisms which are hard to manipulate, Clifford algebras have a natural multiplication reminiscent of ordinary multiplication which cuts through most of the "red tape" of theoretical and applied physics. The reader should obtain a copy of every publication on Clifford algebras, octonions, Division Algebras, etc. As I have pointed out in another review, readers with poorer mathematical backgrounds can always hire consultants and even tutors to help them translate these remarkable treasures.

A small, obscure literary masterpiece.
This book was a delight to read. It takes one back in time to meet a man, who like the rest of us, struggled with his faith, doubted, feared, was angry and yet never let go of his belief in his God. The pages provoke thoughtful meditations that let the reader read at an almost meditative pace. I read one or two pages and I'd have something of substance to ponder for the day. Sometimes I felt so close to the subject. Frost is quite a literary engineer to have mastered this concept and place the reader in the room with "friends" like those of Job. Those full of pat answers, advice, judgements, etc. Only to find that Job was the one to end up counseling them. I certainly will have this one in my library within easy reach. Excellent for those who have questions that don't require tidy answers, just a true faith. After reading this, one will find that it really isn't the answers we crave as much as the One who is the Answer.

The letters of two geniuses
Walter Benjamin and G. Scholem are two of the most important thinkers of this century. And in this book we can listen to their voices and thoughts. In my opinion the most interesting part of the book are the letters related to Franz Kafka. In fact, I think the way they understand and illustrate Kafka is still unsurpassed, and just for that is really worth to read this book.

Great book for decorating ideas
I really have enjoyed this book. I love to make cakes, cookies, and desserts with themes. This book is filled with all sorts of great ideas, and each recipe comes with several pictures. This colorful book features beautiful gingerbread cats, happy sun cookies, and they make shortbread into eye catching flowers. They have many recipes featuring chocolate. Since this book is based out of Great Britian it features many recipes on sponge cakes. It also has a good amount of ideas for holidays. This book is a wonderful source of new ideas.

a real pity this is out of print...
....no modern discussion of morality or ethics would be relevant without the insights of such a book. How can we strive to be ethical individuals without such a thorough understanding of what our shadow side means to our efforts?

Not an Institution, but the People of God
This book communicates the author's vision of the Church and its role in the world with power and progressive clarity. Lohfink demonstrates that an understanding of the Church cannot be separated from an understanding of Israel as the people of God, the vehicle through which God brings salvation to the entire world. Using historical critical methods and his experience as a biblical exegete, he reconstructs the story of Israel, particularly its Exodus traditions, showing how the experience of Israel with God resulted in a social project, rooted in the Torah. It was a radically new form of community and worldview that stood in contrast to other nations and peoples. He proceeds to weave the story of Jesus in the context of Israel's history, connecting his gathering of the Twelve with the eschatological gathering of Israel, and portraying his death as the renewal and sealing of the covenant for the people of God. Finally, he details how the Church is a continuation of a history that began with Abraham, but now centered in Jesus.

Of particular interests is how Lohfink handles Jesus' feeding of the five thousand. He shows how the historic Church has tended to make the same mistakes as Jesus' disciples did in their response to the hungry multitudes. Lohfink uses Jesus' response to their questions to deduce how the Church must be formed in order to be more than another charitable organization or religious services provider. The mission of the Church is rather to be the new society, a locus of salvation capable of transforming the world.

Finally, Father Lohfink shares his own story, describing his experiences in the German Church from the time of Hitler to the present, including his decision to relinquish his chair as a Professor of New Testament at the University of Tubingen to join the Catholic Integrated Community and its Association of Priests in Munich Germany.

Does God Need the Church? Yes indeed!

A wonderful book for pharmacological Researchers
The book is a wonderful addition to books on drug evaluation. I feel pharmacologists are getting very few books on this subject. This book can end up the search for such pharmacologists. It will surely boost the research in this field. I hope that this book should reach into hands of every pharmacologists. Whether he/she is a academician or researcher, this book will be a valuable addition to his/her personal library. Each institute conducting research or teaching in pharmacology should also have this book in the library.

Many thanks to the authors and publishers of this books.

An extraordinary study of mother earth and the moon.
I was exceptionally impressed with this work. I was taken with the very descriptive text on the inner workings of our planet, along with her spiritual aspects. What really got me was the description of the people and animals on the moon. It almost makes me believe that no one has ever really landed on the moon!! How could life on the moon have escaped them? It so happens that my sister gave me a new book, "Saturn" also by Jakob Lorber, and it's just as wonderful and descriptive as Earth & Moon. It leaves one to ponder why this information has been so long in coming.

Electronic Materials: The Oligomer Approach
Published in Hardcover by John Wiley & Son Ltd (24 June, 1998)
Authors: K. Mullen and Gerhard Wegner
Amazon base price: $225.00
Average review score:

An essential book for the electronic polymer research!
This is book is aimed at exploration of Oligomers and their structure property relationships in conjunction with conjugated structures and electroactivity. On one hand it is a literal Bible of references for this area of research and on the other hand it does not dwell into the details of each aspect which may even turn one off at times. There are few books and reviews which have touched this fundamental area of Polymer Research
