I was a student of J. Panero
I was a student of J. Panero at FIT in NYC in 1975. He and Martin Zelnick were wonderful professors. I was around when they were putting together their first book and was glad to see this one. Keep up the good work

Essential for anyone involved with the built environment.
Have you ever been enthralled with those thick, illustrated books that line the shelves of every architect's office? This isn't one of them...its sitting open next to their cad station. I have few books that have followed me from college into practice, but this revised edition has assisted the design development of many residential projects and earned me high marks with my project managers.

Great book
This book articulates a solid understanding of tantric yogas
and incorporates several forms of tantra into a comprehensive
study.
Evola talks at great length about the notion of the shiva/shakti
duality as well as various sadhanas (practices) such as kundalini, ... magic, and chakra work. Keeping in mind that ... magic is a key and valid point in this context Evola treats such ideas with informed maturity and a solid knowledge of how it is correctly performed.
This book is at times difficult to read but only because of the complexity of the issues discussed (the chapters concerning the Tattvas and human condition are the most profound and thus complex).
All in all a great tantra source.

Evola Rocks the Modern World
Julius Evola is an elitist. Having experienced both the First and Second World Wars, Evola firmly believed that we are in the Hindu Age of Darkness or the Kali Yuga, and that enlightenment would only come to those who sought it out and achieved it through power of their will. Writing from the perspective of an experienced occultist, Evola warns the reader of potential problems of undertaking Eastern systems, Hatha Yoga in particular, without a fuller knowledge of their purpose and potential. Evola writes serious books about serious subjects, yet manages to present the material in a manner that is both meaningful and practical. Evola is not for everybody, and those more attuned to New Age fluff had better leave him alone. However, occultists who want to understand a man who was a major force in Italian esotericism, and who to this day is having more of an impact after this death than when he was alive as a result of translations and symposiums, will find a wealth of knowledge and esoteric insight.

Air-Cooled Automotive Engines
Published in Paperback by Halsted Press (1972)
Author: Julius Mackerle
Amazon base price: $27.50
Collectible price: $144.00

An expert's review of aircooled engine design
This 1961 edition is the best book written to that date on air cooled engine design. Mackerle was principal engine designer for the Czechoslovakian Tatra auto and truck firm. The company specialized in air cooled engines and produced some of the world's best. This book combines theoretical knowledge and practical experience to provide advice still relevant to air cooled engine designers today. A later edition exists that I have not read. Be aware that Mackerle is an unabashed advocate of air cooling for engines. Designers of water cooled engines should look elsewhere. I recommend any interested reader seek out the latest available edition. Marvin McConoughe

The Artist-Blacksmith's Craft
Published in Hardcover by Skipjack Pr (1995)
Authors: Julius Schramm and Robert A. Ruhloff
Amazon base price: $29.00
Average review score:

A booklet that is included with the Schramm book
Julius Schramm, by Hugo Kükelhaus and Julius Schramm

In this little booklet, Hugo Küekelhaus recapitulates the core of Schramm's own essay on the artist-blacksmith's craft-faithful adherence to techniques that exploit and express the natural qualities of forged iron-and Schramm himself follows up with an autobiographical sketch. More than a dozen photos illustrate both Schramm's notion of a disciplined approach that derives from ancient tradition and his own innovations within that tradition. Those innovations have been carried forward by his successors, notably Fritz Kuehn, and have become a part of the contemporary idiom of the craft.

...Schramm reminds us that making objects with integrity of ornament, function and natural expressive of the material is no crime but a rich aesthetic and intellectual experience.

Michael Spencer, Artist-blacksmith, from the postscript

Extremely hot!
This book is incredible - Julius is an artistic god, and it really shows in this story. The story follows a young boy who is caught having sex with a manager in his father's company. He is sent to live elsewhere, and along the way discovers hot sex with everyone, including his uncle. For fans of erotic art, especially Julius, this book is for you.

The Battle for Gaul

Author: Julius Caesar
Amazon base price: $64.00
Average review score:

A must for anyone in the military
When I was in the military, they stressed that to understand the craft of war; one should read the classics on war. However, no one told me that it would be fun. I stayed away from Caesar because I thought it would be stuffy. Well I was wrong. This book is a geography lesson and a history lesson. It is even a "how to". Nevertheless, it turns out that being a first person made it come alive. However, he had an ego and a half. The Campaign took place between 58 and 50 BC and the names for the tribes of Gaul are similar to the countries today. Now close your eyes and now open "ItDoesn't Take a Hero" by General H. Norman Schwarzkopf. Where does one stop and the other begin?
