Comprehensive, Insightful and a Superbly Good Read
This is perhaps one of the most comprehensive treatments of this now broad subject area that I have ever read. The authors are to be applauded for gathering together some of the foremost experts in this field of study and organizing a diverse group of papers into a volume that is not only eminently readable by scientists and laypeople alike, but will also certainly stand as one of the outstanding volumes in biological anthropology for years to come. Professionals, students, and laypeople alike will all find something thought-provoking in this book. Very Highly Recommended.

A highly recommended text
"Biological Anthropology of the Human Skeleton will become a leader in the field for texts in the discipline. The editors have collected together key workers and focused on major areas of study and developments in techniques of analysis. Underpinning and preceding the main chapters has been the very important consideration of the ethics surrounding the analysis of human remains, somehting that is often ignored in similar texts. The thoroughness in which the authors have tackled their subjects is testament to their status as experts. The text will appeal to staff and students of anthropology, archeology, medical history and a much wider audience in genetics, pathology, histology and statistics. a highly recommended text." --Charlotte Roberts, University of Durham

An excellent guide
"I have adopted this book for my graduate seminar on human osteology. The contributors review their specialties in depth, and explain the pros and cons of the various analytical methods that are current in our field. This is an excellent guide to a very diverse literature." --Della C. Cook, Indiana University

Circle of the Soul
I was so grateful when I learned that Anne Carroll Decker had published a second book, because I gained so much from her first. Her messages bring the word of God alive in our lives today. I highly recommend her books for an uplifting view of our sometimes-dark world.

We are better for having read (and re-read) Anne C. Decker.
... Anne Carroll Decker's Circle Of Souls emphasizes that we are fundamentally one. Our heartfelt concern for others, no matter how despicably they may behave, turns out to be very important to each of us personally. For the central point of the book is that ultimately no-one can be set free if any one remains chained. Freedom, as used herein, may be taken to represent and include all good desires, all hopes - in fact those lists of spiritual gifts the Scriptures discuss. Chained is
used herein to represent the state of those who behave horrendously: the murderers, the liars, the rapists, those who would use fear to coerce others and those who harbour fear and unbelief themselves. The startling thesis is that no-one (no matter their sanctity) will be set free until each and every one of us (the worst offenders included) comes to salvation

Other authors have written emphasizing the thesis of all-encompassing unconditional love. Authors as diverse as Betty Edie and William Brugh Joy MD emphasize that love must be unconditional. Jesus himself pointed out that even the heathen love those who reciprocate goodness and He recommended that we love those who harm us (and presumably, those who harm society at large.)

While Anne Carroll's book emphasizes the great importance of unconditional love, it goes much farther. It states that our unconditional love and our prayers for those who are chained by their sins can help misled offenders to be set free. And until each and every one of these are set free, no-one will be set free. For humanity will be regarded as a single holistic entity.

Anne Carroll contests with an Angel verbally even as Jacob once wrestled the angel at Penuel. She has trouble accepting the angelic ideas outlined above but he persists and overwhelms her contradictions time and again.. Sometimes angels of varying religious persuasions or ethnic derivations invite Anne Carroll to witness God-respecting "foreigners" whose approach is other than standard American Christianity. Some angelic tour guides are difficult for Anne Carroll to bear. As one who has achieved all the signatures of the idealized modern American woman, the author must find angelic messages somewhat counterpunctal. Yet she knows somewhere down deep within herself that the values they are pressing upon her are worthwhile on a level that material success can never approach And much of the charm of this book lies in the honest presentation of this conflict. A dedicated and devoted woman, she has worked very hard to meet the criteria of a materialistic culture. But Anne Carroll Decker's angelic friends will not let her rest on sterling laurels. Goals set for her (and incidentally, for all of us) include more than the honest, satisfying life. Working, tithing, helping others, and maintaining the suburban marriage and mansion are not enough.

The new goal superimposed is the eventual Freedom of all mankind!!! That is the responsibility of each and every one of us. Our tools are unconditional love and the power of prayer.

We must not rest until every one of our others is set Free. We will not be Home until all are welcomed Home.

Such is the message of this interesting and well-written book.

Circle of the Soul
I highly recommend reading Circle of the Soul by Anne Carroll Decker. It is uplifting, readable- a gem of a book. It provides answers, actions, solace for living in today's confusing times. Don't miss it.

Great book for a learner
Possibly a great book for those that know something alreadytoo, just look at the endorsements. Not a step by step book - no hardand fast rules to DM - goes to the principals derives guidelines and provides examples. A good approach that suited me - I always want to know why something should be done a certain way not just follow a prescription.

perfect to understand the practical side of marketing
I read a number of marketing books before this one,but after read Drayton's book I understand how to create and execute a direct campaign. The best side is,I think, the simple words due to the writer experience in the marketing business .If you are looking for the best combination of experience and easy reading with a ''How to...'' aproach ,this book is the best.

This is it! Everything you need to know about the business
This book contains all of the information you need to know about direct marketing. It puts aside the myth regarding the 1-2% return on mailings. I had no idea that a 50% return was possible! The book is full of proven advice and tips; planning, list selection, the offer, pricing...it goes on and on. Reading it from cover to cover gave me the information necessary to execute my own mailing which cost me less than $200 but reaped close to $100,000. Read it!

Excellent cook book!
This was one of the best shower gifts that I recieved at my bridal shower! It's a perfect gift for a new bride or even those who have never cooked before. The recipes are so simple, and it even shows you defiantions of other cooking terms found in other cook books, that beginner cooks' wouldn't know. It is a great reference for new cooks! This cook book is so neat! Betty Crocker shows you each kitchen tool, and the def. This book also talks about dinner parties, and there is even a space to write "his" and "her" favorite recipes as well as other spaces. It also talks about having and dinner party and cooking for two, and different kinds, of rice, etc. This is def. one of the best gifts that you could give a new bride. Not only is it a wonderful cook book, it is also afforadobly priced for the public.

Good basic gift for the newly married couple
What a nice gift this is to give to a couple just getting married and setting up a household. I've looked through it and found it to be very helpful and full of good basic recipes. I have always found the betty crocker cookbooks to be among the best. It's a great gift that every couple (or single person) could use.

wonderful cook book
I got this book as an engagement gift a couple months ago, I've already tried several of the recipes. It has not only many great recipes, it also has really helpful tips. I've made the carrot cake and apple cake several times already and brought it to work. Everyone loves it.

A GOOD BOOK TO HAVE
This book reflects upon various issues which affect the African American parental experience. Even though it brings light to the everyday subjects that are discussed in most parental books, it takes the same approach as Dr. Spock's baby & childcare books. The authors of this book are very knowledgeable professionals. This is a good book to have in your parenting collection.

Mother Love

Excellent!
Dr. Anne Beal is my 9 month old son's pediatrician. She is fabulous! She is not only knowledgeable, but very compassionate. I am a white woman. My husband and son are both white. Although, this book is titled "The Black Parenting Book", it is an excellent guide for all parents. I purchased the book mainly because Dr. Beal is our pediatrician, but I find myself using it for reference quite often. I can't stress enough how wonderful Dr. Beal is as a doctor and how well-written and helpful this book is.

Written with our cultural dynamics in mind...
I'm the mother of a 2-year-old, and although the other books on the market had info, it didn't address my concerns about explaining racism, different hair textures, and other things that affect Blacks uniquely and color our view of the world. It has a caring, authoritative tone that's never condescending, and touches on most modern issues. Although I wish it had discussed other issues,(i.e.,the "raise-the-daughters-and-spoil-the-sons" phenomenon that occurs in our community all too often), it answered more of my questions that I thought possible from one source. If you are a first-time parent, or if you're feeling "rusty", this book is the answer. If knowledge is power, then this book is the ATOMIC BOMB!!!

GREAT for preteens, girls with sensitive skin, and scientists
****My mom bought this for 10-year-old Amanda, who has eczema, and has to be careful what she puts on her skin.
~ - ~ - ~
For other pre teens who need to be careful of skin, - this is great! You know what the ingredients are, as you make the concoctions yourself. Now all can join the herbal and scented shampoo/body potion craze.
****
Directions are easy to follow, but be prepared for a little searching for a couple ingredients (we initially had trouble finding sea salt which was used in one of the best recipes)

Great recipes included milk bath for dry skin, and salt skin scrubs (seriously-feels great!) for mild exfoliating and skin softening.

Pre-teens and teens can follow recipe instructions fairly easily, but may need help shopping for a couple of the more hard to find ingredients. (Natural beauty supply stores and the Internet helped)

****Lots of good, *clean*, healthy fun, attractive to young teen girls

Oh my gosh! This book is AWSOME!
I recently purchased this book and it is fantastic! It has recipes for hair, face, hands, feet, etc. I've tried some recipes and they actually work! This book comes with a spa box that contain 3 essiential oils and other items that are necessary. It also shows you to give a complete facial, manicure and pedicure! All the recipes are simple and you could find the ingrediaents in your kitchen! Enjoy!

Great Book if you're interested in natural body care!!
This book is soooo good! The recipes are fun to make and use, and they really work.It has instructions for each different thing and scattered throughout the book are interesting tips and facts. The perfect book if you're planning to do a spa night with some friends.

Exciting action packed tale of reunited love.
Dr. Kathryn Jackson, after finishing her residency in pediatric emergency medicine, begins a long anticipated vacation to Mexico. There she encounters Maximiliano Ramos, now a high ranking government official, who had captured her heart ten years before. Drawn to Max, but knowing they live in different countries and come from different cultures, Kathryn tries to fight the attraction she feels for him. Circumstances and Kathryn's independent nature as well as her fiery Irish temper place her in direct conflict with Max. Unwittingly, Kathryn finds herself involved in the underworld of illegal drugs, and torn between her love for Max and the needs of a small child. Kathryn is forced to make choices that change the course of her life.

This book was thoroughly enjoyable. Anne Hodgson delivers a fast pasted, and intriguing read. Reunited love is always a favorite theme, and Ms Hodgson does it with style.

Perfect romance !!
AWESOME!! Anne Hodgson is a true romantic writer! Her gift of character, style, suspense, and love are so captivating. From the moment I started the first page, I couldn't put it down! Kathryn is beguiling and bewitching! What a combination! This book is well worth the read and re-read and re-read! Thank you, Ms. Hodgson, for adding such a wonderful story to my library of romance novels.

A heart-warming modern day romance set in Mexico!
This new novel from Anne Hodgson (annehodgson.com) is just wonderful! I loved it from the first page and couldn't put it down. I read her first novel, To Love and To Cherish, and have read it several times. I'll read Chance Encounter again, too. It's full or romance, love, and passion. I can't wait for Anne Hodgson's next book!
