My copy is weathered, written in.... obviously much loved!
This book is a treasure trove of ideas, inspiration and many many reasons
to remember and ACT on "Putting Your Heart" on paper.

Klauser is an extremely engaging writer. I found myself smiling in
response to what I thought were personal inside jokes like a lyric
from "Sound of Silence" being weaved into a paragraph about the
impact of the vocalization of a baby upon a group of tired, unengaged
adults.

This is a book I find myself continuing to return to over time. I don't

think I ever read through it front to back. Instead, I go to the Table
of Contents to find what calls to my spirit and then I usually find
myself reading a couple chapters before and after that chapter.

I can't imagine any reader coming away with less than 49 ideas to
try out and implement, much beyond what Klauser calls "Now You"
when she specifically asks you to apply what is in the chapter.

Read this book, treasure this book. You will soon notice it is becoming
weathered which is an honor bestowed upon books which are truly loved.

This is a book for everyone!!
This book is full of great ideas on communicating with the ones you love. It is a book not only about being heard but hearing what loved ones have to say to you.

Writing To Heal
As a writer, I find this book of imformative and creative ways to get your thoughts on paper, fabulous. As a mother who has had a child die, I found the chapter, 'Easing The Pain of Death' to be of interest. While I don't like the term 'recovery' for I feel a mother never recovers from the loss of a child (losing a child is not like breaking a bone, the bone does heal completely and there is recovery. The pain from a child's death will always remain), I was encouraged to read the message that writing does bring healing. I have found this to be true in my own experience. As an advocate for 'writing it down!' I recommend H. A. Klauser's book. ------Alice J. Wisler, author "Slices of Sunlight, A Cookbook of Memories".

Beautiful
Reading this book will make you feel happy, energized, and calm. It is easy to read and it clears your head. Never have I had this much peace of mind. If you are looking to help others or yourself, read this book and you'll feel wonderful.

A Reminder of How to lead our lives
This book reminded me that life isn't about the rat race. It is good to stop and take the time to appreciate those around you, to take in the energy that helps you through each day and to share the positive attitude you generate from a peaceful state of mind with others. I highly recommend this book for anyone in search of a little rest for the soul. It's an easy read with great suggestions about how to go within yourself to find peace rather than searching for it from others.

For all wishing to find inner peace and healing: a must read
Pat Upczak takes us through the steps of the Reiki process, but in so doing, she has also opened the doors and windows to her own life. Pat practices and shares with her readers the lifestyle she ahderes to and the spirituality she espouses. This book is not only a guideline, but also an insight into a master Reiki practitioner. It is an inspiration and a beacon for all.

Folded Corners
This is one of my very favorite books. It is one that I have read, at least, once a year for the past 10 years. The story of three orphans thrown about from foster home to foster home makes you cry for their unhappiness, but then makes you cry even harder at the end when their luck seems to finally change. I tell eveyone I know to read it, and have lent it out several times. It will soon fall apart because it has been loved so much...I hope that I can find another copy when it does. : )

The most wonderful and heartwarming book ever!
I thought that this book was the best book ever and Ann Hall Whitt did a wonderful job on her autobiography I thought it was wonderful. I even cried at the end. I thought it was so sad but I figured the book would be good and trust me it sure was. I had been wanting it all year at my school library and I finally got it and read very quickly because I just couldn't put it down! I think u should read this book because it is just wonderful, I give it 5 stars and 2 thumbs up

A Wonderful Story
I read this book for the first time when I was in the 3rd or 4th grade. That was back in 1982 or 83. The author, Anne Hall Whitt came to my school in Silver Spring, MD to talk about her experiences growing up. This is a touching story and I highly recommend it.

Tumble Tower

Tyler's "Tumble Tower" is a Terrific Tale
I am an adult who never liked picture books as a child (I fell in love with reading in fourth grade, when I finally had the vocabulary and comprehension skills to read the more appealing "Chapter" books). I came to this book because Tyler is one of my favorite contemporary novelists, and even though I love tons of other novelists both present and past, sometimes I just can't wait for Tyler's latest to hit the stores. So, I read her children's book, and I was enchanted. The story is great, the pictures are charming, but what I liked best was the book's "Child is father of man" philosophy. Modarressi, who happens to be Tyler's daughter, has written and illustrated a number of other books: don't miss "Yard Sale!" and "The Parent Thief" and even the weaker "The Dream Pillow" is worth a look-see.

Captivating illustrations are what make this the prize it is
The story of Tumble Tower is hardly throw-away - Princess Molly the Messy is almost despised by her family: King Clement the Clean, Queen Nellie the Neat, and Prince Thomas the Tidy. Molly lives in the castle tower, where her room is beyond what most would considered "a bit cluttered." However, as we soon discover after the rest of the castle is flooded, even the messiest of rooms can be considered a safe, even comfortable haven. Seeing life through Molly's eyes gives the rest of her family a sense of understanding, perhaps even empathy.

While Anne Tyler's story is very nice, I found the illustrations to be far more engaging. There are hidden surprises in almost every page, and the characters are wittily, handsomely, and endearingly brought to life in a style that almost resembles the Saturday morning series "Angela Anaconda."

The kids will love having this book read to them again and again, and there's enough treasures spread throughout to make the parents most happy to oblige.

Children love it, too!
Although an avid Anne Tyler fan, I just discovered this book she wrote for children and I now number it among my favorites. I find it perfectly charming to see childhood "messiness" vindicated. My grandchildren (ages 8 to 13) thoroughly enjoy the book, too. I can tell they relate to "Messy Molly," although maintaining that their own bedrooms are never as messy as the wonderful two-page spread of Molly's room.

This exceptionall well written, hilarious travel book should be in every travelers Christmas stocking, male or female. It makes you want to take off on adventuresome journeys, rids you of mundane travel plans, and gives you the heart to try new adventures daily.

makes me want to haul out my rucksack and hit the road
freaking' hilarious, mate. Made me itch for the 34d class local from calcutta to delhi, sipping chai from a clay cutp. this is the real deal, no hot tub, no mint on the pillow. I howled. Thiss should be a mandatory purchase for anyone who's picking up a Lonely Planet guide to anywhere!

Laugh, Wince, Yelp!
Whether you're a backpack-totting purist, an armchair vagabond or something in between, you'll laugh, wince and let out an occasional yelp of disbelief when you take in The Unsavvy Traveler. It's a lively collection of travelers' travails that, taken together, will either make you itch to catch the next plane or, perhaps, be just as content to play it safe in that armchair.

Secrets of Tarot (Natural Care)

Quite good!
For such a little book, it is loaded with Tarot history and helpful information on the definitions of each card and suit. I especially enjoyed looking at the wide variety of sample cards from various decks. Lionnet also presents several different layouts, besides the usual "Three Card" and "Celtic Cross", that encourage diverse experimentation.

Another helpful item was the collection of "sample readings" at the end of the book. Lionnet applies each layout (i.e. Jungian, dual Options, Celtic Cross, etc...) to a specific Querent and then discusses each card in the spread in relation to the other cards.

A handy book for either the casual or the merely curious, this would make a great gift.

Convenient
This is a sweet little palm-sized book that is perfect for reading on the bus or train or during lunch breaks or between classes. It's small size makes it convenient to carry with you anywhere. The print is also rather small so you might not want to give it as a present to someone with less than excellent vision.

GREAT FOR BEGINNER
So, your intrested in starting tarot? This tiny book has loads of information for those who are unfamiliar with the tarot. It tells you all kinds of spreads and gives meanings for the cards. I like this book because it had pictures of the cards from many different decks. This could help a beginner choose which deck looks good to them!

not a light read
This book ranks with Norman Rush's Mating and Tim Parks's Destiny as a deep and absorbing portrayal of a relationship viewed from the inside of one person's psyche. The main character is a man in his forties at a turning point in his marriage whose story is told very narrowly in the first person. I don't think the reader ever even learns his name. We are never told anything objectively about his experiences but Grondahl brilliantly puts us inside his head. This book requires some concentration to read since the story is so internalized but the effort is more than worth it.

Masterful....
I generally don't read a lot of fiction unless something original about the story captivates me. I picked this one up for no particular reason and found the subject matter compelling - the odd dynamic in relationships whereby you can spend years with someone and share all levels of deep intimacy and yet still not really know them. Grondahl's work on a pure story level was incredibly satisfying, exploring the complexity of the human psyche and portraying the protagonist's deep introspection and trains of thought with wonderful skill. The story was also written in the first person with no real interference from any all-knowing narrator - no small feat.

All told, this is a thoughtful and thought-provoking piece of work. It is a book you cannot (or should not) read quickly; rather I found myself getting through chapters or even different scenes within chapters and having to stop and think about what I read.

Highly recommended!

A great book for a silent vaction.
In October, I was spending my vacation in Sweden and Denmark. Before my trip I ran across this book and thought it would be interesting. I was spending some time in Scandinavia and wanted to read something with a different view of the world-so why not a Scandinavian author?

Upon my second night in Sweden I began reading this book. I was suprised at how the story pulled me deeper into the book. Sometimes the book seemed complex; but the story flowed so well. It's now January and I still think about this book!

This book was a great find. I hope the US publishers will print more of his books. If they don't, Mr. Grøndahl's books have been translated into German and many other languages; so I will just read the others in German.

While in Copenhagen, I made sure my friends bought the book as well for their holiday in India. This was the only English book by the author I found while in Copenhagen.

Actually, 4 and 1/2 stars......
"To Love a Dark Lord" is my first Anne Stuart book. I have to tell you..I'm thrilled that I have discovered her and I cant wait to dive in and read her other stories!! Girls, This book was fabulous!!!..I enjoyed the storyline and the H/H immensely. There were also some of the most wonderful secondary characters in this book!! Killoran is so romantically tortured and Emma is his perfect match..I was up so late reading this..I couldnt bear to put it down!! DEFINITELY a MUST READ!!!!!!

The Best Historical Romance Ever !!
This book is my absolute favorite Romance Novel. I have not found any Romance before or since that I have liked better. This book should have been available in hardcover as well as paperback. I really can't say why I singled this book out of all the others that I have read but my fantasy is that one day they will make this book into a movie. I don't understand why this book is no longer in print. I fell in love with all the characters in the book. I cannot express enough how much I love this book.

Stuart's Best Historical!!!
Anne Stuart is one of my favourite authors, I admit that, but for a reason. She is simply one of the best either for comptemporary or historical and as usual she delivers - this time one of her best historicals ever!

She is the Queen of creating bad boys with blackhearts and souls. This time the scoundrel is James Killoran, who has a heart and soul so black he himself knows there is only one reason to lives and that is revenge. But then revenge, can be a bloody dull and boring reason to live, since he cannot find the right weapon to extract it, so he uses people to relieve the tedium of his boredom when he is not drunk - and sometimes when he is! As he continually rescues poor Emma Lagolet from some of the most amusing and yet dangerous situations, we know the Irish Lord has met his match. He believes he has found the perfect instrument to form his vengeance, and will not let his attraction from Emma stand in his way.

It is funny, with strong characters, proving once again, Stuart is the tops. One of the Best!!

The Amazing Days Of Abby Hayes #8
If you are looking for a series about girls than I would recommend the series of 'The Amazing Days Of Abby Hayes'. One particular book that I think stands out is #8. In this book Abby is ecxited that it is the last week of school bt once she plans a 'Horray Its Summer' party she thiks that her friends will think that her room is boring and dull. What do you think Abby will do to change her room?
I think that the theme of the book is purple. I think that because that is Abby's favorite color and that also has to do with what Abby does to her room.
I would recommend this book to you because it makes me laugh and feel happy. I would mainly recommmend this to 9-11 year old girls or fifth grade girls.

HAPPY READING!!!!!!

a two headed review
Two Heads Are Better Than One is my favorite Abby Hayes book yet. It is about when Abby is sick and gets a bad haircut. To make things worse, when she comes back to school, her science fair partner is a......... boy!! Could this day get any worse? this is a funny book!! so read it.
this is a really funny book first abby gets sick, next, she cuts her hair into this really ugly hair cut, then she gets better and goes back to school with the funny hair cut,and the person who is her science fair partner is a BOY,and all they do is argue,argue.argue.but they finally get things slinding across the ice a little more smoothly everything turns out all right and her hair is even growing back in the end!!!!
