Probably the IFD cycle affects almost everyone to some degree: who doesn't have some ultimately frustrating expectations? But instead of letting our frustrations discourage or delude us, we can and should learn from them; some mistakes may prove worth making for the sake of the discoveries they lead to.
"People in Quandaries" includes some semantic exercises with which we can learn how to learn; by recognizing the limitations of our expectations and language, we can learn to see beyond them.
The idea is to use books the students are currently reading to help them learn how to write and revise well. If you have struggled with coming up with writing lessons that interest the students and get the point across, this is the book for you! The author provides examples of many different books you can use to teach the lessons, and she often includes specific excerpts right there in the book. This book is very user friendly. You will find it easy to read and you will feel ready to try some exercises in your classroom right away!

The author's approach is straightforward, without the usual sales mumbo jumbo in other books. I found his strategies for improving the odds of success very effective.
The book is a bit expensive, but after winning a couple multi-million dollar contracts that price seemed very small.
I've read many books on proposals, but this is the only one I would recommend. You won't need another book if you have this one.

I love this book. Of course It would be nice if there were floorplans. And as usual one closes the book wishing he could see more photos of each of the houses. But there are many stunning photos. Kudos to the photographer. It is well worth the money and I will get it someday if I can no longer borrow it from my boss.
