The Heights of Zervos (Isis Series/8 Audio Cassettes)
Published in Audio Cassette by Isis Audio (1995)
Authors: Colin Forbes and Sean Barrett
Amazon base price: $69.95
Average review score:

Forbes is in a class by himself and Zervos is unforgettable.
In the past year I have read dozens of audiobooks, but none had the impact of The Heights of Zervos. It begins with a gripping descrition of sabateur hero Ian Macomber narrowly cheating almost certain death, and keeps up the pace in this unabridged story of four men's struggle against huge odds. It's deliciously long, so the pleasure lasts. The writing (and reading) is exceptional (compared with others in the genre) and the characters really live, by their wits, as they carry us to the thrilling conclusion. I must read all the Forbes bookshelf now.

Sean Fannon is a creative genius, not!
I can't stop talking about Sean's High-Tech Enemies. Having had the pleasure of being throughly trounced by several of Sean's evil creations, I can safely say that I hate him and the evil NPC's he created. May the Weasle, Dr. Destroyer, and Master Control die horrible deaths. To ensure that Mr. Fannon doesn't create more of these insidious characters that give me irratble bowl syndrome he should be scheduled for a labotomy.

One of the best comics ever made
The art is fantastic the story is more complete than one would expect.

This is the trade paperback version of a 3 issue set that came out about 12 years ago. You would have to go to Tim Truman's Wilderness or Lone Wolf and cub to find a better comic.

As an adaption of a book, no other comic compares. Buy it.

Hockey the NHL Way: Goal Scoring
Published in Paperback by Greystone Publishing ()
Authors: Sean Rossiter and Paul Carson
Amazon base price: $8.95
Average review score:

Good for intermmediate and awesome for beginner players
At $8.95US cover price, this book cannot be beat. I picked it up because I need help developing my slapshot. The coverage of all points related regarding scoring is fantastic. You won't find information about improving your skating, but you will find plenty about dekes, stick handling, shooting, and best of all, reading the goalie.

I only found one fault with the book -- some explanations are too simple and don't go in depth where you might have a question about their explanation.

I cannot express to you how helpful this book is to me. I am an average player, and it filled me in on a lot of things I didn't know and probably never would if I hadn't read it. Besides, this book is so colorful and well put together that just the pictures of the pros make it worth the money.

I'd say a "good read" for any player who has been playing less than two years and a "must read" for any forward who has been playing for less than two years.

This book gave me some direction
I bought this book a couple of weeks ago and it was an easy read. It has a lot of good tips in it. I really appreciated the part about websites, since reading this book I built my own art site and I have more knowledge about making money in the arts. My only dislike is that in the back of the book there is a lot of resources for artists, but it's just for American artists. It'd be nice if there was a list of resources for Canadian artists too.

100% funny
Most books of quotations contain more that their fair share of duds, this one doesn't. The funniest book that I have ever read, but not to be read in public as you are certain to laugh out loud and get carted away by the sanity police.

Good stuff for a great game!
It has a similar layout to White Wolf's other Player's Guidebooks. New Merits and Traits (Internet Savvy, Uneducated) new classes (the Hermit and the Wayward) and an absolute ton of ideas on how to create and play an average human being (a surprisingly difficult task at times).

I have most of the stuff that has been put out for Hunter so far, and this would come right after the Survival Guide in order of usefulness and game expansion. The Hermit class is EXTREMELY interesting (they hear voices from the Messengers constantly) and the Merits/Flaws really help to round out a character (there's a fair bit more than just the standard merits/flaws that find their way into all the player's guides).

The roleplaying tips and ideas are realy nice, especially concerning what types of people are likely to pick up a given creed. There are some interesting rules presented on changing creeds as well (you were an innocent, but you've seen enough, etc.) which make good sense. A whole section on Bystanders is a nice addition as well (they hint that many Bystanders are failed Hunters - ones who heard the call but failed to act).

There's more here than I can lay down, suffice it to say if you've picked up the main book and want to delve deeper into the roleplaying of Hunter this is definetly a worthwhile purchase.

Great nostalgia and fond memories on every page!
If you ever owned, or wanted to own a lunchbox from the 50's through the 80's, this is the book for you. This book provides fond memories of school days, mom's lunches and "what was cool!". Full color photographs of the boxes and thermoses from various angles really make it a must for someone interested in lunchbox collecting or for someone just looking for a fond recollection of a simpler day gone by...
