Bioengineering goes awry
The resulting saga is a brilliant hybrid of science fiction, adventure, social satire, political intrigue, and spiritual awakening. A bored, lonely housewife discovers that she has perceptive abilities that lead her to unexpected adventure and love. The battle finale is unlike any you've ever read. Rosetree's experience as an aura reader and empath, plus her incisive wit, make this novel a must-read in this age of awakening.

I loved reading this book!
The Roar of the Huntids is a book I will buy dozens of this coming Holiday season, to give as gifts to people I love and care about. I personally know Rose Rosetree to be a talented and gifted "Face & Aura Reader", having offered her professional skills to both my corporate and private clients for many years now (through the Washington Talent Agency, which is where I work as an Agent.) Rose has the unique ability to be able to entertain and teach at the same time, offering amazing insights to all! In the Roar of the Huntids, Rose continues to do the same...entertain and teach, in the form of a fun, fascinating futuristic novel while sharing her knowledge of spirituality, especially empathy as she knows it to be. I had so much fun reading this book that I was sorry when it ended. If you love a good novel yet often prefer non-fiction, especially "self-help" and "spirituality" books, buy the Roar of the Huntids. You will not be sorry! You, too, will want to share this book with friends. I anxiously await her next book and have just purchased Empowered By Empathy.

It makes you think
The Roar of the Huntids is written as a spiritual awakening story. Rachel, a housewife has it all, but still longs for something. In Russian such a longing is called "toska" - pain of the soul that cannot be described by words adequately. And when Rachel's destiny offers a chance to reconnect with the Universe, she accepts it. Awakening comes with the price. It doesn't resolve her problems, rather adds more. In spite of it, it rewards heroine with inner balance and spiritual fulfillment.
It shocks when the ways of a housewife cross with global problems. We all know the feeling of being an outsider. This book gives a bold lnsight into the problem. If you read it, you will find out that Rachel had done some thinking for you. It may encourage you, also, to embark on a journey of soul search and spiritual growth.

It is a sincere book, and it comes from the author's personal experience.

A recommended guide for all Alzheimer's caregivers
The collaboration of licensed therapist and Alzheimer caregiving expert Sandy Braff and Mary Rose Olenik (Staff Research Associate in the Department of Psychiatry, University of California - San Diego and a participant in an N.I.H. grant studying the effects of stress on the immune system of Alzheimer's caregivers), Staying Connected While Letting Go: The Paradox Of Alzheimer's Caregiving is a "reader friendly" guide to Alzheimer's debilitating effects on the mind, the stress of handling both the physical demands and the emotional turmoil of caring for a loved one suffering from Alzheimer's. Providing expert advice for avoiding the trap of neglecting one's own health; counsel for dealing with sensitive issues such as inappropriate public behavior in one's patient; and much, much more fill the pages of this very highly recommended guide for all Alzheimer's caregivers. If you have a loved one suffering from Alzheimer's, then give a careful reading to Staying Connected While Letting Go.

From the voices of caregivers................
Over the four years during which my brother and sister and I arranged for, and provided, care for our mother, I experienced the soul numbing range of horrors that Alzheimer's disease visits on both its victims and their caregivers.

•The disbelief that my mother could possibly forget that she had asked me the same question three times in 10 minutes, followed by the self-hatred at my anger and lack of understanding.
•The feelings of helplessness and confusion that accompanied our struggles to figure out what would be best for her, and the absence of definitive answers from the medical community.
•The deluded belief at each particular phase of her illness that things couldn't possibly get any worse, only to watch the next descent destroy more of who she was.
•The heartbreaking relief when she smiled at me in recognition when I arrived to visit.
•The innumerable times that I had to pull my car to the curb as I returned home because I was sobbing so deeply that I could no longer see the road.
•And, most of all, the overwhelmingly empty feeling of isolation and solitude.

Now, I watch from a distance as my cousins endure the same horrors in caring for my mother's brother. But they have a reaffirming guide that was unavailable to us. I sent them a copy of Staying Connected While Letting Go.

In our high tech world, we often forget the importance of the individual human story in passing along culture, history, knowledge, and simple wisdom. But to me, the highest value of the human story is to trigger in the listener, or reader, a sense of shared humanity. Recognizing one's own experiences in the story of another person shatters one's sense of isolation. This is the genius of Staying Connected While Letting Go.

Ms. Olenik and Ms. Braff have structured their book around the stories of caregivers, who describe their experiences with their loved ones at successive phases of the illness. Neither the caregivers nor the authors try to sanitize what is frequently the unpleasant reality of facing and reacting to the confusing and disturbing behaviors that can accompany Alzheimer's. As a result, the book has a credibility that will strengthen its appeal to caregivers, while sharing the coping mechanisms of the caregiving community to which they belong.

It's extraordinarily rare to find a book that has such enormous potential to help people who desperately need a sense of community. The authors deserve our thanks!

A fabulous book!
As a long time caregiver, I wanted to thank you so much for the gift of your wonderful book. It's a continuous support group for Alzheimer's caregivers. There were so many stories and situations I related to, since I experienced some of the same events over time. Having participated in a support group for caregivers for 15 years, I found the book to show great understanding and empathy of caregivers, and to be a real acknowledgement of all the caregivers I have known and learned with over the past 15 years. It's a great resource and will be a wonderful help to all who read it!!

Yvonne - a caregiver for 15 years.

So If you like the Kennedys, buy it

A touching story!
Discover the Kennedys viewed by Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy, the matriach of the clan. First she tells about her familly and youth, and then you discover with her her children, her husband and all her life. You fell her pain when she lost her children. If you like the Kennedys, buy it.

WELL WORTH REMEMBERING
I received this book as a 13th birthday present and it remains a treasured gift to this day. Rose Kennedy was clearly a very intelligent and literate woman from all accounts and this shows in her memoir.

My favorite parts of this book are the parts outlining the growth and development of Robert Kennedy. We watch him remain in character. His progress is tracked from the time he doggedly tried to teach himself to swim at age 4 to some 35 years later, in 1965 when the then Senator, an acrophobe, climbed a previously unscaled mountain in Canada out of love for his slain brother. Robert Kennedy was a stubborn, determined hardworking person and these traits showed up early in his life.

From all accounts, Rose and Robert Kennedy were close. In looking at pictures of the mother and the son the physical resemblance is quite strong. Robert Kennedy was the only one of the sons to have the "Fitzgerald" face. Like his maternal grandfather who, in Doris Kearns Goodwin's book, "the Fitzgeralds and the Kennedys," Mayor John Fitzgerald took up a rigorous physical regimen to develop himself into a runner and augment his physical strength. We see this same characteristic in Robert Kennedy, the boy who tried to teach himself to swim, the undergrad who was determined to show his mettle on the football field and the man who would, in 1965 climb that mountain. Both mother and son shared a deep devotion to Catholicism and both were consistently described as serious and committed to following their social consciences.

This book is such a treasure chest of memories and is well worth reading time and again.

An Inspirational Story
I was struck by the faith and hope demonstrated by both Nancy and Theresa, as well as the love between them. It is not often that someone is inspired to take on a project like this for the next generation. I'm sure that Theresa's daughter will be very grateful that her grandmother wrote this book about her mother. Breast cancer is a devastating disease, but I feel that if women hear Theresa and Nancy's story they will be encouraged to hold their heads high and be the heroines they truly are.

Truly The Most Beautiful Rose
Nancy writes beautifully about Theresa's life and her struggle for life. Nancy also lets everyone know there is hope beyond hope. Theresa's fight was valiant and her mother's account of her whole life is a wonderful tribute. Theresa's daughter Madison will truly appreciate what her grandmother has done for her. The book very truly indicates how precious life is, and how, we as the people left behind must tell our loved ones everyday how much we love them.

A Reminder for Us All
The True Story of Theresa, The Most Beautiful Rose is an incredible journey through the life of a young woman who was taken too early from her family and friends. This account not only shares the devastating effects of cancer and cancer treatments but it sets an example of the power of love and faith. Nancy Moore has a powerful story to tell and her work is well written. This book is hard to put down and leaves the reader desperately wanting to change the ending of the book. There is a strong message here to never give up hope and to treasure each moment of life and the love of those around us all. There are lessons to be shared - never stop looking for answers and miracles, never forget to say I love you, always remember that life is a precious gift and hold onto your faith.

Excellent Book!
An excellent book for the new student! This text provides insight into the depth and subtlety of traditional Chinese medicine by delving into the linguistic and cultural wellsprings of China's venerable past. The authors' knowledge, thoughtfulness, and dedication to their topic clearly radiate from every page. Steven Given, Dean of Clinical Education at Yo San University, has this to say of the book: "Their interweaving of language, religion and culture results in a cogent and highly readable discourse that ties together the elements of culture and medicine. Zhang and Rose's examination of the etymology and structure of the Chinese language is a major contribution to our understanding of how traditional Chinese medicine functions today."

mind, language, perception
The book is extremely courteous in guiding the reader through the basic structure of that enormously complicated thing called Chinese culture. The first part will be particularly helpful to those who do not know the Chinese language in the way it shapes and articulate thought for those who think in Chinese. The entire cosmology upon which medical theories and perceptions have been formulated is laid out as a reflection of the mirror (language) that bears the warpature to best suit the Chinese language. The first part ably shows how the fact that Chinese does not have temporal tenses in its grammar affects the shaping of premises with regard to the body and medicine in Chinese worldview. Food and Chinese cooking are also introduced as important vehicles that have carried Chinese medicine through its path of evolution. The latter part of the book deals with more theoretical concepts, including philosophy, and how they gave rise to and founded certain clinical practices. The book is an organic introduction to a science that is founded and corrected on the lived experience of thousands of cases observed over two thousand years.

Marvellous
It's a great book for all chinese culture lovers It gives us a comprehensive idea of Traditional Chinese Medicine origins and basis . Provides a good biblography too A must for everyone who wants to understand more and more about traditional chinese culture and art of healing

Following your heart when there are forks in the road . . .
The Road to Eden's Ridge by M. L. Rose is a complex yet riveting family saga and romantic novel.

It tells the tale of a family from Maine, primarily through the eyes and experiences of Miss Lindsey Briggs. Lindsey is a vivacious and headstrong young woman who is standing up her fiancé at the alter as the novel opens to abandon the traditional life style and follow her heart and dreams by heading off to Nashville to try her hand at country music.

"Follow your heart" is pretty much the cornerstone of this novel and Lindsey's determination to do just that serves as the prism through which the twists and turns of this novel are reflected and refined. For it is the will and determination to block out all but her dream that brings Lindsey success-and great pain and heartache, as in the process of "following her heart" she loses track of the fact that it's a world with many roads and that one's heart may be destines to travel more than one of them.

Heartache has certainly been a facet of the character of her family members and the choices they have made. The whole middle section of the novel provides context for Lindsey's agony as she learns the truth about the previous experiences of the women in her family and the choices they have made and the heartache they have endured.

In the end Lindsey must decide whether her laser like focus on her dream is (as her country music mentor and long time family "friend", legendary country music performer Ben McBride wonders) Lindsey's greatest strength or her greatest weakness.

This is a richly constructed novel with an array of likeable and well-developed characters. It is realistic in its approach to the striving and struggles of musicians on the make and working to fulfill a dream as well as to the Nashville music scene in general. Most importantly, it is an honest and engaging love story that revolves around what feels to be real people with real emotions-a rarity in this day of mass manufactured "romance" novels consisting of cardboard characters of contrived circumstances that exist merely to titillate the reader and make a buck rather than communicate anything about love or life.

This is a novel that will move you and remind you of those bygone days when your own heart was so moved and so full of aching, longing and happiness at the same time. In other words, this is what a romantic novel is supposed to be.

Turning pages on a good story
This is a refreshing story for anyone who believes that we have souls that might be connected and that love exists as part of that connection. Not that Lindsey Briggs necessarily believes it. "No one is destined for anyone else," she tells her grandmother early in the story. But she does call off a wedding that just doesn't feel right and heads to Nashville to pursue an old urge, and as soon as she arrives she falls into a set of friends and a life that seems to be scripted by a fate Lindsay claims not to believe in. But fate, whether one believes in it or not, is a central character in this story. Or was it merely chance that Ben McBride walked into the Bluebird as Lindsey's band was beginning their thrid song. Was it merely chance that Lindsey, in order to relax in his presence, began to talk before she sang that song, unwittingly speaking the words that connected him to her in a way she didn't know.

This is a good story. There is an honest feel to the landscape. And the gentle conversation between Ben McBride and Lilly when they are looking at the sunsert and the flowers and talking about Emily Dickinson and birds is as good as it gets. How can one not believe in love and the connection of souls.

This story will resurrect your dream!
The fact that Lindsey left a sure thing behind to follow her dream is quite inspiring. It reminded me how important that is. It doesn't take a songwriter, singer or musician to be captivated by this intriguing story. This one will stay with you. Eden's Ridge needs to be on the big screen.

Living with a new gourmet chef - and loving it!
My fiance got this cookbook for Christmas, and has already made four recipes from it - all of which turned out perfectly! He's generally one to "test" new recipes on me before making them for friends, but these were all spectacular on the first try. Especially wonderful so far has been the risotto with butternut squash and the ravioli stuffing with butternut squash and mascarpone cheese. Absolutely amazing. When you can make cooking fun, it's definitely a triumph - and Rogers & Gray have completely succeeded in that respect. BENE!!

Totally satisfied
Fabulous, concise, expansive, enjoyable! Rogers and gray make it possible for my friends to think I am a kitchen God!!!

i'm a total fan
My boyfriend and I are good cooks and food mavens who nonetheless don't cook a lot. We know from great food and the recipes in this book are superb. In no other book have I ever found recipes which consistently yielded such high--i.e., restaurant-quality--results. Another great thing is the fact that many of these recipes don't require a lot of expensive/hard-to-find ingredients. We cooked out of this cookbook and its sequel, these two books alone, for a year and a half. Then we visited the restaurant in London, which is sublime--but that is another story.

A Rose at Midnight (An Avon Romantic Treasure)

WOW........
"A Rose at MIdnight" is not your basic romance. The story of Nicholas and Ghislaine is a darkly beautiful one that is sure to move you. I enjoyed the secondary characters of Tony and Ellen as well. I had a few complaints about how the end was somewhat thrown together, but all in all this was a great read.

CLASSIC ANNE STUART!!
With some authors I just NEED to have every book they've written and Anne Stuart is one of them. If you've read any of her books (historical or modern) you know she goes in for a dark hero who is usually more bad than good (or maybe I should say so bad he's good). At any rate, I stumbled across this earlier book and WOW!!! What a ride. It takes place right after the French Revolution and our French heroine has managed to survive but not without a load of emotional scars. She is living in England when low and behold she is presented with the opportunity to take revenge on the Englishman (our hero) she blames for all the woes she and her family suffered during the reign of terror. And we're off. . . Needless to say things don't go as she plans. Great story line, great characters who are FULLY developed and complex. Wonderful "secondary character" love story. Order this book! It is worth the extra you will have to pay for a used copy. A definite keeper to add to your Anne Stuart collection. It's 394 sexy pages of adventure, tears and pleasure!

A bodice ripper with a difference
The characters in this novel are tortured and somewhat unlovable, but they are so wounded and needy that they complement one another. Anne Stuart is such a clever and skilful writer that she is able to take a storyline that could fail miserably in someone else's hands, and write something delightful and compelling. Think of this book as a reluctant buddy novel where the hero and the heroine go on a road trip.

Where Liberals Go to Die: The End of Let's Pretend

The Truth
Evans does a phenomenal job of expressing what's on every right-winger's mind. Chapter after chapter he hits the nail on the head and drvies to the heart of our country's problems.

I'd refer to it as the guide to America's struggles: Liberal quest for power vs. Republicans desire for progress.

A concise handbook in the fight against liberalism.
James Evans has done a good job in creating a simple, straightforward book that debunks the liberal trends in our country. He explains clearly the imaginary concepts that liberals conceive their ideals. He illustrates the roots that took shape in the 1960s that evolved into the leadership coming of age today. He exposes very well the outcomes of the law, Affirmative Action and public education. He also demonstrates common sense rules to live by that would create an orderly society. Mr. Evans was of the hippie culture of the 1960s. He later understood the irrational thinking that this liberal ideology would bring about. His book is an easy to read guide to the trends our country has been on for the past 40 years. He simply demonstrates good alternatives to develop good citizenship, self-directed responsibility, and a better community for us all.

Another good work from Mr. Evans.
Not only is Mr. Evans right on the money, but he does is hilariously. If you are a liberal standing on shaky, Mr. Evans is going to get you. The humor is gut wrenching, the satire thick and the message right on. Another good work from Mr. Evans.
