A must for any newly PG couple!
This book should be required reading, forget all that other mushy stuff. This is the real deal! Great read, funny and down to earth. My babe is 14 months now and I still pick it up now and again just for a giggle. This should be given at every baby shower!

as essential for new parents as a Diaper Genie
I loved Planet Parenthood! I recently gave a copy to my brother and his wife, who just had their first baby, and after taking a look inside, I couldn't resist reading it myself cover to cover. It was a terrific read -- I laughed my hiney off, and it seemed really wise and true, to boot. I've already seen bro and sis-in-law grappling with some of the issues mentioned, and I think the book will be a big help to them in putting it all into perspective and getting a good laugh, even in their sleep-depreived state (excellent therapy for stress). I was a fan of Tilsner's earlier book, 29 and Counting, and she's done it again!

Love this book!
OK, so I'm not a parent yet. But, I have about six girlfriends who've either given birth in the past year or who are almost due. I got this book to give as gifts (I'm a fan of Julie Tilsner's first book "29 and Counting") and couldn't put it down! So funny, and so right-on for what my girlfriends-turned-mothers were going through during their first year of motherhood. It almost makes me want to join the planet. (Almost!)

The authority on pointing Labradors
This book took me from not knowing anything about the breed and what made the difference in pointing labs, to well rounded and having a foundation to learn so much more about these amazing dogs. The Knutsons really have done it right with this book, they go from prior to purchising the dog, all the way to the finnished lab. If you are intrested in this type of dog I suggest you make sure the dog has some good pointers in its breed, and it is not an average lab from the classified ads. If you want a dog that can do upland as good or better then the common pointing dogs, and can also go get that duck in the middle of the pond, this is the book. I have never seen a book cover so much and make it so easy for the reader to understand and do, if you want an outstanding pointing lab, buy this book before you buy your dog.

The Bible for training pointing Labs!
What a nice book. Paul and Julie Knutson have written a great book that emphasizes training the pointing Lab as an all-around hunting dog. The text is factual and clear, but there's also a lot of thought and careful observation on what works and what doesn't. It's easy to tell that the authors really love their Labs and want to train them to the highest level of their ability. For anyone who has a pointing Lab, this is the Bible for training those dogs!

The Pinting Labrador
This is a must for anyone interested in a pointing lab. The book is great for those who know nothing, aswell as for those who know everything about pointing labs. The book is very easy to read and understand and provides simple but effective techniques to work with labs.

A rollicking adventure
Trixie Belden and Honey Wheeler find a diamond in the abandoned gatehouse at the edge of the Wheeler's property, but someone is trying to get it back. Meanwhile, Trixie's brothers Brian and Mart have returned from camp, meeting Honey and her brother Jim for the first time, so the secret Bob-Whites of the Glen club is ripe for formation.

As much trouble as the girls get into, the adults still come off as helpful and intelligent, unlike many other YA mystery series (or even the Harry Potter books).

Usually I prefer the Deluxe edition with covers illustrated by Paul Frame, but for this one, check out the Glossy edition illustrated by Mary Stevens. One picture shows Trixie and Honey doing some pruning -- with Trixie looking remarkably like Beavis of MTV fame -- and a charming Ashley Judd look-alike picture of Trixie greeting Mart. This book also features the memorable line by Regan, the Wheeler's beloved young groom, "Reach for the ceiling, Laughing-Boy."

Trixie Belden is the Best!
It doesn't matter which title you choose to read (although you should try to read them in sequence) all the Trixie Belden books are wonderful reading material. Trixie comes from a family with values and she's down to earth. She has two older brothers that tease her and a little brother she takes care of. Her escapades could readily be done by the reader and every character in the books becomes "real" to the reader. The stories are engaging and always a mystery to the end. I read these books when I was ten, 43 years ago and I believe if I sat down with one today I would enjoy it still. I made my son read all of them!

Trixie Belden and the Gatehouse Mystery
I started reading the Trixie Belden books when I was 9. 21 years later, I still have the first 36. At that time I thought that they were brand new! This was the first that I read, and it's always been my favorite. One of the things I enjoy most about this series is the way that all of the characters are developed, both primary and secondary. Not only do you have a good understanding of the main characters' personalities, but you also get to know and understand the other characters. The series also focuses on qualities that are missing in many of today's novels: friendship, honesty, values, responsibility, and hard work. They also deal with issues that are a reality in children's lives: friends, siblings, parents, hobbies, school, etc. This book does an excellent job at highlighting the strong friendships that develop between Trixie, her brothers, Honey, and Jim, while at the same time giving you a good mystery! I believe that this is one of the finest written books in the series, in that it seamlessly weaves together the developing mystery along with the growing friendships, while introducing the new characters of Brian and Mart in person. The climax never fails to excite me, even after reading 15 times! I strongly agree with other reviewers that this series should be re-published for today's youth.

Faith's Desire
Ms. Farrow held my interest in this book from beginning to end. The suspence and intrigue of the characters was well written; and the love story part was outstanding. She knows her stuff. Hope Ms. Farrow writes another soon!

Very enjoyable
Julie has certainly explained her characters and made them very believable. I rarely read love stories because they are so much the same but this had a really human interest story with it and was described very well. She kept my interest up throughout the book. I look forward to her sequel, Shelley's Promise and will certainly pass this on to my friends. Continue the story, Julie.

Romantic Intrigue
WOW! Faith's Desire hooked me in the beginning, carried me along with fast-paced drama, and swung me into a page-turning dynamite ending. Titilating romance scenes added another dimension to the already powerful action sequences and kept me glued to the book. The author obviously has had extensive experience in a trauma center, or did an amazing job of research, because the Emergency room segments of the story were very realistic and had a ring of professionalism.

Great book! Great story! Great read!

Megan and Ariel
I saw the movie on the Disney Channel and taped it because i LOVED it so much. The movie is about a 14 year old girl named Megan LArson who loves windsurfing and a boy named Cutter. Then Ariel Cola comes into the picture. She is blonde and pretty, but does not understand " this strange place called Earth". While her father, Cosmo Cola is enjoying earth life, Ariel longs to be a bubble once again, and be Sueza of Circalon, with her beloved Phinool by her side. But things go haywire and Kathy LArson and Cosmo Cola fall in love, putting Megan's and Ariel's lives into one chaotic ride. The girls soon decide that the only thing to do is to break up their parents, and when plan after plan don't work to split up the parental units, Megan and Ariel began to like each other. To complicate things even further, when the horrible Emperor from Circalon comes to freeze Cosmo, his son Phinool finds himself falling for Megan, and Cutter finds himself falling for Ariel. This is a must see movie for kids and grownups alike. Please see this if you get a chance!

Realitic, sexy, witty
Courtesy of Love Romances

Cole Travis doesn't know he has a son until the death of his ex-wife, Kelly. He is furious, not because of her deception, but because of the abandonment of his son by Kelly right after his birth. He hires an investigator to search for his son, and so far he has got five possibilities. Today, he arrives in Valle Verde and by pure luck; he has the chance to pose as a handyman to find out if the Simpson boy is his son.

Lauren Simpson is a retired model and has settled, with her adopted son, Jem, in Valle Verde. She is in need of a man who could refurnish her new home and turn the barn into a store. When Cole applies for the job, she hesitates to offer him the position because she is attracted to him on first sight.

Cole soon finds evidence to prove that Jem is his son --- but it isn't just Jem that he wants but also Lauren, the woman that he has grown to care about and love.

Just the title of TANGLED SHEETS, TANGLED LIES promises a hot romance with plenty of passion and loving. Readers will be delighted to find this tale realistic, sexy, witty and pleasant to read. The story itself is dramatic but doesn't lack for humour. Be prepared to lose your heart to Cole, Lauren and Jem once you finish this book ---AND--- be prepared to want more.

Rose Chastain

Great first book!
The characters are believable and likeable with a complete story line. I found it very reminiscent of a Danielle Steel novel. I'll be waiting for the next one ... You go girl!

Read this Book!
Okay, first of all, could this really be her first book? Wow! What a debut. "Tangled Sheets, Tangled Lies" is a "Jem" of a story destined for you keeper shelf. Julie Hogan has the kind of fresh new voice I've been waiting for from Silhouette Desire. This book is funny, touching and full of well drawn characters you won't want to say goodbye to at the end. So I have only one question: When's her next one coming out!!??

What birth can mean for a family
Welcome With Love talks about childbirth with love, feelings, and great respect. It is about the kind of birth that all women are entitled to have -- and all families are entitled to be part of.

This wonderful children's book depicts a gentle, natural home birth on a windy, fireplace-lit night. The whole family participates in welcoming the new baby into the world. The story of a mother's fourth baby being born, is told in her young son's voice. He speaks of his mother's great noises during labor but he's not afraid, because she had told him beforehand that she "might make a lot of noise", he mustn't worry because "that's what it's like when babies are being born," and that she'll feel better if she yells and screams. The book shows the mother in full naked splendor pushing her baby out, the family watches with great love, tears in their eyes and excitement in their faces. The pictures were illustrated with absolute respect and regard for the birthing woman's privacy and dignity.

The book describes childbirth with touching honesty and realism. This is a perfect book to prepare children for the homebirth of a sibling. I found this beautiful story at our local library and enjoyed reading it so much I purchased a copy for my family. I love this book and highly recommend reading it to children of all ages.

Home Birth Momma
As a home birth mom myself I adore this book! I needed a "how was I born book" for my daughter. So many books talked about the hospital birth and I did not want to imbed that into her precious mind. Co sleeping, brestfeeding, labor and love are all beautifully portrayed! I nerer noticed the rusticness until I read it in these other reviews. BUY IT, KEEP IT FOREVER!

Beautifully illustrates natural birth in a family
It seems like every book about the arrival of a new sibling tells a child he should be jealous -- do we set them up for this? This book, instead, illustrates wonder and love as it tells the story of the birth of a family's fourth child through the eyes of the third, while acknowledging subtly and honestly that young Jack is aware of the change in his place in the family, through a single sentence near the end ("[The baby]'s between Mum and Dad, which is where I'd like to be.") In this home birth, though a midwife attends, family is central: Julie Vivas depicts the girls holding a hot water bottle against Mum's back and bringing her towels; an aunt arrives bearing flowers and soup; Dad holds Mum tight during contractions. Breasts and nursing and naked Mum are illustrated naturally and beautifully. Yes, the setting is rustic (as some reviewers note) but the book takes place in Australia, which probably accounts for cultural differences. Homebirthing, breastfeeding, and family-bedding folks will find content that supports these practices. My 15-month-old loves to turn to the page with a large illustration of a wrinkly, naked boy baby with the cord still attached. I plan to use this book liberally with my son when we begin preparing for his first sibling in a couple of years.

Every Conure owner should have this book
My family and I have two parakeets and two cockatiels; they are such energetic members of the family and are so loved that we decided to add another bird - you guessed it, a conure. When we brought our Jenday conure home (at 12 weeks old), we had little knowledge of how to take care of a "larger" bird - that is, until we bought and read Julie Rach's fabulous book. It is written in such an easy, friendly style that it's almost addictive to read - and add to this all the up-to-the-minute information on care and proper diet - it's the Conure Bible! We don't hesitate for a moment to say - GO OUT AND GET THIS BOOK!! You and your conure(s) will be glad you did!

Everything about you wanted to know about Conure's and more!
This is a truly informative book. I was leary about buying this book. Some of the other books i bought seemed to be written for idiots, and i was bored quickly. This one answered all of my questions and went into hard to find detail. I highly recommend this to people who own other birds and are already experienced in bird keeping. It is not just the basics, but the odd things that apply to just Conures. BUY THIS!

VERY Helpful for potential owners
If you are considering becoming the owner of a Conure then I would strongly recommend reading this book. I was planning to become a Conure owner and this book raised a few doubts about whether a Conure was best for me or not. It was very enlightening; I learned a lot from it. For example: did you know that the sound of a vacuum cleaner excites Conures because it reminds them of a thunderstorm from the rainforest and that they will want to take a bath when they hear it? If you are planning on becoming a Conure owner, BUY THIS BOOK!

Yuummmy.
Reading this book just makes my mouth water and it has some history of Italy, with references to just about every spice and tasty combinations. Wow, I ran out and bought a soup pot! One downside, making broth, Uh! Although I will say the book offers substituted canned broth I just don't want to throw these wonderful ingredients into anything less! This is a great book for readers too, I loved hearing about the Famularo family!

Tasty and Sensible
Not only are the soups tasty and inventive; but they are sensible and nutritious. They require little time and ingredients that are neither exotic, nor hard to find. Most recipe books are loaded with expensive ingredients that necessitate driving 20 miles from your home, and that you use only for one particular recipe. I want recipes that use inexpensive stuff I have on hand, or will have no trouble finding. This book meets those requirements. I read cookbooks like other people read novels, and this is the best cookbook I've ever had. Now that he's conquered the soup pot, Joe needs to move on to pastas and more.

A downright miracle
I'm not a cook. But during winter months especially, I do make a few soups to help in the household. And this book is the one I usually use as my guide. I need a recipe. I need recipes that are foolproof. And here is where I get them. Not only does every recipe end in a soup that is edible, but one that is tasty and repeatable. That, with this "cook", is downright miraculous! There is variety here, a learning experience, and in the end a soup that is invariably a tasty success. And I'm not even Italian.

Julie Andrews is truely magical
As a child I fell in love with the actress Julie Andrews in Mary Poppins and The Sound of Music. Still an outstanding actress, I enjoyed her recent Princess Diaries, I am continually amazed at her abilities. If singing like a nightingale and acting weren't enough, she has also proven to be equally talented as an author! My eleven year daughter bought Little Bo two years ago with her hard earned allowance money. She couldn't put it down then and frequently goes back to enjoy it over again. She is currently reading it to her five year old sister who can't wait for bedtime now since she so enjoys her bedime story. The only problem is that their eight year old brother runs off with it at the most inopportune times thus wreaking havok! He thought if he could sneak away and read it in hiding no one would tease him. Boys who are almost nine are only supposed to read cool stuff, you know. He, too, found Little Bo irresistable and no longer even tries to hide it. I'm beginning to wonder if Mary Poppins wasn't really a fictional character at all but a chapter in Julie Andrews life. Don't stop now Ms. Andrews. We love you!

A Must-Read Children's Book
Bonnie Boadicea "Bo" is a little kitten born into a family with a loving mother and father, but not to kind owners. She is the runt of the litter, and doesn't eat much due to her small size. Her father loves her, and to make her feel special gives her a big name, but calls her "Bo" for short.

One day it is time for the kittens to leave their mother, and the nice warm house. They realize that they are going to be hurt unless they escape from Mr. Withers, who was supposed to take them to the pet shop. So all the kittens run in different directions, and are soon scared, wet and hungry.

Bo meets a nice sailor and gets into all kinds of mischief with him on the boat he works on, and is soon a sailing cat with a nice home and a kind owner.

This is a must read children's book that anyone, young or old, would enjoy.

Julie Andrews Edwards reading _Little Bo_ is a must.
The CD/book edition of _Little Bo_ is a must for young children. Julie Andrews Edwards reads as well as she sings. This edition adds much to the written text. The CD can be used as a series of short readings. The conclusion of each chapter is accompanied by gentle music that tells the child or parent that there is a natural break. The author researched the book well, and the portions of the book that take place on a fishing boat during a severe storm are very plausible. Henry Cole's soft drawings do much to convey the flavor of the story.

Bo, the kitten, and her siblings were sent away during a snow storm by the owner because their sire was an alley cat. Bo finds a friend in Billy Bates, a sailor aboard a fishing boat. Bo survives a severe storm and the dislike of the boat captain. Billy and Bo leave the boat to find new lives for themselves.
