The screwball comedy lives!
If you like screwball comedies, you should read this book. It's about an English professor who's about to marry the "right" woman. Until the real right woman shows up in his life, along with a tattoo, a motorcycle, a protector named Raven, and plenty of chaos.

Unlike a lot of romances, this book has memorable secondary characters. They could've walked right off the set of a romantic comedy, except they seem to have rewritten all the scripts...

By the way, secondary character Raven gets his own story in "Rough and Rugged," part of Harlequin Duets #22. He has shaved, but I'm sure he's just as fun.

Anne M. Marble Reviewer, All About Romance

I don't usually like romances, but I LOVED this!
Most romances are too corny for my taste, and too dependent on Mr. Right. This book is funny and features a feisty and independent woman who has high expections from any guy that wants to spend time with her. Read it and get ready to enjoy yourself!

Fun book by a up-and-coming author.
I am fortunate enough to know the author, Colleen Collins. She is a marvelous, imaginative person and it shows in her book. Ms. Collins pulls off an improbable plot line with skill and humor. I started reading the book, had my husband order in dinner, read through dinner and did not come up for air until the last page turned. The book is light, funny, and never an insult to intelligence

OUTSTANDING
This book is truly original and hard to put down, yet also a book that one doesn't want to finish! Told through letters, the author brings us into the thoughts and heart of an adolescent girl who is suffering from a lack of attention from parents, a grandmother, and others in her life. How Taswell deals with her pain is both surprising and touching. And the person who comes into her life as a positive influence is equally unexpected.

The characters are complex and well developed, and along the way Collins enriches the story with exceptional humor and wit.

This is a wonderful book!

Bravo!
Once in a while a book comes along that you can't put down and you'll never forget. Signs and Wonders is just such a book. It's brilliant. Told entirely in letters that bring the characters to life and keeps the pages turning quickly, almost too quickly for I hated to reach the end. Taswell, the main character, takes us on a fantastical emotional journey, which ends quite beautifully back in reality. Her wild imagination driven by the need for something as simple and as complicated as love. A must read and like Catherine, Called Birdy by Karen Cushman, destined to become a classic.

Wow!
This was a really great book. The story was told entirely in the letter correspondence of Taswell and her grandmother, father, and guardian spirit, Pim. The storyline was very gripping and different, as Taswell finds out that she has been chosen for a miracle: she is pregnant; a virgin birth. All of the characters are well developed, from Taswell's chattering classmate Madeline to her father's new girlfriend to the interrogating school counselor. This book is a must for anybody.

Were you paying attention during World History class?
Me neither! The History of Christianity is essentially the history of Western Civilization; so if you don't remember who Atilla the Hun was, aren't sure what caused the Great Schism, or can't tell the difference between Martin Luther & Martin Luther King, Collins & Price will bring you up to speed.

This is a very readable book that takes a heckuva lot of information and presents it in an understandable format. I find myself actually wanting to pick it up and keep reading, which is a first for a non-fiction book and me!

If you're looking for an in-depth treatise on the Christian religion, I'm sure there are heavier tomes. But if you just want to feel like you can hold your own watching Jeopardy, this is the book for you!

Rontgen Isaac
This is an Excellent Contemporary Book of Christian History during and after JESUS CHRIST. It also highlights the various Christian events that took place that shaped the world and resulted in Christianity being the Predominant Faith in the World. The Book is concise and has vivid colour illustrations to show the various events. These qualities make the book unique.

A must for any avid reader on Christianity
Rarely has a book so vividly captured the history, the faith, pageantry and essence of the message and legacy of Christ as this publication. The two authors, one a young Catholic priest, have done a superb job in conveying the richness and the diversity of Christianity in all of its glory. Their emphasis on the importance of the historical facts had a special resonance for me, as only through the lessons of the past can we come to understand and respect each other's traditions.

This book is a testimony to state-of-the-art printing and lavish design and production. It was a joy to behold, and a treasure to keep in my library. I commend it to you without reservation.

A must have for any tennis player
This is the one book anyone learning to play tennis must have. The author gets his point across in a humorous way, making learning a frustrating game fun. It is very easy to transfer the words in the book to the court. All those who teach tennis could learn how to better teach their students with the many examples used in the book.

Must Have for any Student of the Game
This is a must have book for anyone serious about learning how to play tennis. The author uses humor to make learning fun. It is difficult to learn tennis from a book, but the lessons are easily transferable to the court. This is also a good guidebook for the tennis professional. I just wonder how long it will be until tennis lessons are no longer $40.

Tennisnut
This book is very different and lots of fun. Anyone who has taken a clinic from Ed, as I have, will recognize the tips and the teaching style. Much of material is very unique to Ed Collins and very helpful. I recommend that the book be part of any tennis library.

I think that this book is my favorite cookbook and I have over 1000 cookbooks! The game and lean recipes were my favorite. The desserts are great --the Raspberry Upside Cake is fabulous!

Excellent Moth Guide
I have been looking for a guide like this for years. This book shows great pictures of all the bigger moths of North America including their caterpillars. Loaded with maps and drawings of the cocoons this book is a must have. Don't let the price scare you away.

The most comprehensive book to date on N.A Saturniidae!
Very impressive coverage on the Wilk Silk Moths of Noth America. Most known species are shown in exellent photographs, some in the larval stages also. Good range maps and detailed text make this the laymans best friend when exploring and learning about the habitats and life histories of some of our most magnificent moth species. The best book I've seen on the subject period!

Impressive details of each moth's life cycle. Easy to read.
For each moth there is a color picture of last instar caterpillar and one or more pictures of the moth. There is also a range map and detailed descriptions of each stage of the life cycle with notes on rearing.
This is a well-written, well-researched, easy to read book. I would recommend it to anyone interested in these largest and showiest of the U.S. moths.

One Of The Most Detailed Examinations Of Windows 98!
Windows 98 is alive and doing quite well despite government and competitor attempts to block its full implementation. It is standard on new computers systems worldwide and its impact has been breathtaking. Although a number of books have been written on this new operating system to help users, several standout as being among the better ones available. The Windows 98 Bible written by Fred Davis and Kip Crosby is one of them. This single book offers one of the most detailed examinations of Windows 98 on the market.      This comprehensive guide will provide readers with in-depth understanding of desktop controls, including the start menu, fonts and font use, display settings, multitasking, the use of pointing devices, installing software programs, installation and use of printers and other hardware devices, multimedia tools, system tools, network operation, the use of other languages, and upgrading computers. Readers will learn how to use Internet Explorer and Outlook Express included with the operating system.     The authors provide readers with an explanation of the improvements and advance features of this new operating system that will greatly enhance their computing experience. The most useful features of this book in my estimation are the coverage of desktop interfacing with the Internet, multitasking among programs, and file management that are so important for business use today.     Another feature of this book that will appeal to more advanced users is the coverage of the Registry, the file database that stores all the information about one's computer, installed hardware, and software programs. While most users will not require immediate information about this important system feature, it is available at hands' reach when such times may arise!     As readers make their way through this nearly 1,000 page book they will gain more than adequate knowledge about Windows 98. In fact, companies that depend upon this operating system will do well to read up on it and familiarize themselves with what it can accomplish for them. This friendly book, laced with wit and wisdom, offers loads of helpful instruction, some in the form of tips, tricks, and tweaks, to make the most productive use of it. This book is highly recommended for intermediate and advanced users!     Best quote from the book: "What's this Windows 98 thing?!" It's what Windows 3.x never could have been. It's what Windows 95 always should have been. It's what will come pre-installed on your next computer. And because Windows 98 is all those things, it's also what we wrote this book about. We hope you like it. - from the foreword

A clever balance of wit, wisdom and in-depth information.
What an enjoyable read is this book! Most books on such technical subjects are mostly re-telling what can be found in the manual or on-line help. This book really takes you inside Microsoft's operating system and pulls no punches while offering both praise and criticism of everything from Microsoft's attitudes to its system tools. Along the way, details emerge that I haven't found in any other source including a wonderful glossary called "Microsoft's Networking Vocabulary" that offers even a breakdown of what T1 stands for, not just the speed it represents. It's the attention to the details that sets this book apart from the rest. I can't imagine a better resource to have; why the index alone (almost 40 pages) is worth the price of the book!

This has to be the best book on Windows 98!
I run a small business and I depend on computers every day - but that doesn't mean I know everything about them. The Windows 98 Bible was written for people like me, especially because Microsoft doesn't bother to write manuals any more. I guess it would cost them too much :-).

EVERYTHING about Windows 98 is in this book, and it's clear, logical, easy to read, and sometimes even funny. Unlike some of the Windows books I've read, it's not entirely pro-Microsoft, but Microsoft will like it anyway, because it will convince people to upgrade from Windows 95. It's convinced me; I'm going to upgrade as soon as I can buy the software.

Winning Pinochle Strategies

A Must Read for the Serious Pinochle Player
I read Anthony Collins' "Winning Pinochle Strategies" and found it to be one of the most informative books on the play of the game and the strategies needed to win consistently. If you are a novice to this great game or an advanced player that has been playing for years, you will find this book will not only help your understanding of the basics but of the more advance play necessary in mastering this game. As a two time winner of the National Pinochle Association's national tournament, I even discovered subtle hints and techniques that have aided me in my understanding of the game.

Been playing a long time, But, still learned a few things
Loved the book. Well written and easy to read. Lots of info on different situations. Keep in mind I believe he plays a game where a run counts 25 pts, which can really affect your bidding. Usual games I have been in and on the internet, usually use a 15 point count for a run. Liked the book and highly recommend it.

Pinochle Wining stategies
I have been playing pinochle for the past 40 years and can attest to the fact that the authors strategy is 99.9 percent correct. If you want to learn how to play a winning hand, or improve your game, this is a must read book for any rookie or professional.

What a great resource
Whenever I decide to design a sweater with cables, I turn to this book. It's easy to use and the charts are great. It's a wonderful asset for any knitters library.

Designing your own Aran Isle made simple
This book provides a brief history of Aran knitting, an overview and how to explanation of aran knitting techniques, explanation of how to design an Aran Isle sweater, and written as well as chart instructions on 220 patterns. What I found most helpful was the grouping of patterns according to row repeats, from 2 row patterns to 48 row patterns. There were 14 1/2 page examples of Aran combinations with tables showing the row and stich number for each pattern used. These combination examples illustrate how the Aran designs of different length and with can be group to create unique designs.

This book is ideal for someone familiar with Aran Isle knitting who wants the freedom to design their own creations. A book most useful to intermediate to advance knitters, it covers the basics so well it would also be helpful to beginners with an interest in design.

Well Rounded Book
This book is a fantastic introduction for anyone new to the breed or considering the breed. It gives information about the history of the breed but gives information about border personalities and issues

A Grrreat book for anyone interested in Border Terriers
This book is well written, and includes every aspet of Border Terrier Ownership. Vertie doesn't recomend borders to everyone (witch I have seen many books do) and she puts a major emphisis on not buying any dog on whim. There is also interesting facts and stories about the breed. Did you know that Border Terriers where James Herriot's favorite breed? This is an exelent book that I would recomend to anyone who has or wants anything to do with this breed!
