This book, with a gentle sense of humour, and many opportune references, is a source of jubilation. One by one, all the bloody stupidities and insanities accumulated since so many years, fall in dust. And little by little, JF Revel shapes a righter image of this great nation to which we so much owe. A true event in the briny marsh of the generally accepted ideas !
It should be hoped that this comforting speech will contribute to let american people know that some french hold them in great esteem, and cherish with them, Democracy and Freedom !
Like Reagan when he asked Gorbatchev to "tear down that wall", Bush has been ridiculed from the beginning in many countries, particularly in France. He's been called a "cowboy", "simplist", etc. According to "Old Europe", he should have listened to them, with their great experience... After all, they know about human tragedies... They had two World Wars, two of the greatest fascists of History -- Hitler and Stalin --, a never-ending mess in the Balkans... Quite a résumé to say the least...
They obviously are the ones who how to handle such things.
Mr. Revel will tell it better than me. The book is well documented, to the point. He great read to anybody who wants to make his opinion and understand how the world came to show such division in the face of grave danger.

With insight and humor but without self-pity, she tells of the challenges she faced at school, including bullying, as well as the relief when she was put in a sight-savers class and at last found a place where she was "normal" - like the other children in her class - and had teachers who understood her needs.
Against all odds, Little decided to go to university. The book ends as she works as a teacher and writes her first book - one inspired by the need of her disabled students to read realistic stories about children like themselves. After reading this book, I know understand how she writes so knowingly - it's because she has lived many of her stories.

A Summer Without Dawn is the best and definitive historical novel ever written on the Armenian Genocide during the First World War. Its spirited, vibrant writing, frequent twists and happenings, abundance of events and unusual love stories, ``secrets of the heart`` keep the reader`s interest at the boiling point till the last page. A fabulous read for lovers of good literature and history--one is educated while being entertained. It is bound to become a great classic in its genre. . .
For every child who has ever dreamed of owning and loving a horse, this book will further enhance that dream! To love and bond with these wonderful creatures is one of life's great experiences.
Jean Ivey creates wonderful dreams! I'm looking forward to her next adventure!

Prochoice people will naturally dislike this book, but for the open-minded prochoice person looking to get an understanding of how some prolife people see the abortion debate, "Who Broke the Baby?" will be quite informative.
At first glance, these slogans hit the core fears of a woman facing an unexpected pregnancy, and feed at her most selfish intentions, that her life is more sacred than any other life. Broken down by Dr. Garton, these slogans are seen in their proper light, as fear-mongering mantras designed by people who are not concerned with her or her unborn baby.
Dr. Garton presents to women that they do have a choice, and shows them how they are being manipulated. Similarly, the media might not have had time to think about this bumper-sticker statements, but "Who Broke the Baby?" gives reporters a chance to know how they are being used.
Yes, there are a lot of issues that are complex for a mother to be to deal with. There is no denying the financial and logistical troubles she may face... but confusing her with the muddled thinking of men and women who think having childen is an insult to femininity is not the answer.
Recommended by C Everett Koop, and consistent with the theologies of both evangelicals and Catholics, Dr. Garton's book transcends denominations as she herself is part of mainline protestants, a Lutheran.
I fully recommend "Who Broke the Baby?" by Jean Staker Garton.

Abba possessed a unique blend of charisma, talent, and originality. Who can forget the sentimental lyrics of ,"I Had A Dream", the gentle flow of "The Rivers of Babylon", the melancholy strains of "Fernando" or the upbeat dance-hit, "Dancing Queen"? The list of hits went on and on.
What I particularly liked about this book was the numerous photographs all depicting Abba at their finest. Many photographs are ones not often, if ever, published before, at least not on this continent. In addition, the book reveals a lot of factual, personal information about the individuals themselves. The road to fame and fortune is not an easy one as readers will discover through the pages of this book. Some facts have been printed before, but other aspects of their career are presented here in a more complete, in-depth light. Fans of Abba, will no longer need to wonder, "what ever happened to..." because the epilogue tells you just that. Of all the books on the group, this is one of the best in print.

A previous reviewer mentioned purple leather. I'd love to get one of those, Amazon!!! I, too, love purple. The one I bought is great, though, and as it was a bit shelf-worn, I asked for and was given a discount.
Do not wait until the unexpected events arise, get the book now and be prepared. It is crazy to not grab this opportunity (this book)now.
I had the unfortunate experience this summer when I had to rush my husband to the emergency room. He immediately was "under the knife", the doctor called me when it was done and said all went well, that was great. But now what? When can he move, how do I change this dressing, what can he eat? Thank heavens I had this book. No one told us a thing.
Another great thing NurseJean has given us, the consumers, is the power to demand the best from our doctors. She has fueled us with knowledge on what and how we can demand the best service from our healthcare providers. They work for us!
This book is a MUST HAVE. It was heaven sent for everyone.
Buy it, read it, and refer to it forever. The health of us as individuals and the health of our loved ones is worth it.
