War and the Long White Road
I devoured this book because I've always wondered how young men and women in the military react on a personal level to going through basic training, entering combat, and returning home after a tour of duty in wartime. Mr. Liebold combines his youthful exuberance with a maturing conscience in this excellent book to give the reader insights into the mindset of a young soldier. He does so with discrimination and compassion. His is a poignant account of the psyche's survival under physical and emotional duress, told in the stories from the time he even considers enlisting to his arrival back home after discharge. For all of you with children, grandchildren, and friends currently in the Middle East, this book is a must-read.

A "Worst Case Scenario".......
A scenario, which, thank God, never happened, "What to do when the Russians Come" is a "how-to" guide for surviving occupation until the inevitable fall of Communism. Thank God, again, that said fall occurred BEFORE we needed the valuable advice in this book!

Helpful in personal preparation for revival
John White, M.D. is a psychiatrist, bible teacher, and former missionary. His experiences in these roles give him the qualifications to sort out for us the claims and controversies about what God is doing--or not doing-- around the world. As a Bible teacher he examines revival experiences being reported today, and with the cautious insight of the scientifically-trained physician subjects them to rigorous scrutiny. The church--the entire church--should listen to White. A few chapter titles show his concerns: "Has It Ever Happened before?" "Should We Fear Emotions?" Are Revival Experiences Psychological?" "Are Revival Experiences Spiritual?" "Preparing for Revival" and so on for 11 more chapters. Near the end of this excellent book, White writes: "[The] earnest cry to God in prayer at a critical point in the church's history had incredible results. It is time to prove God again." (p.235) This work will certainly help to promote the human preparation for a revival which will come when God chooses to pour down his blessings.

Dirty and dangerous
Iain Sinclair knows the mythical paths of London like no-one else. In poetic often painfully intense prose, he conjures up the half-dead spirits that stalk the streets of this seedy town. The landscape is dominated by dodgy second-hand book dealers skulking in the shadows obsessed by the Ripper murders, and by the vicious presence of Jack himself, the embodiement of powerful evil forces embedded in the fabric of the city. If you only ever read one novel about Jack the Ripper, or never wanted to read one, White Chappell, Scarlet Tracings is a must. A warning though: it is not for the faint-hearted.

Stories 4th Graders Love
I teach 4th grade in Newark, New Jersey, and wanted to do some work on the Lenape with my kids. The stories in this book were so appealing to them that they tell them to each other and act them out when I read them. Their favorite story is the one about the White Deer, because of the gory scene where a person gets their legs bitten off by a monster, but then sticks them back on with spit. I highly recommend these stories if you can stand the imagery.

this kid is the man
I am a friend of John(who we call "crispy Crespin") I watched his spiritual journey from start to finish and this book does not totally totally totally (Tippett) do it justice but it is an excellent insight in to his brilliant mind. Amanda is also one of my friends and she is flattered to be the Good Voice. To this day I do not know if he found what he was looking for but, he defenatley found him self as an artist. I look foward to the books that are up and coming from the future american classic novelist. If you are interested in other levels of consciousness and reality support this starving artist's first attempt.

"Real" survivor
How Yungjohann got to So. America is a mystery. But he worked on a coffee plantation from 1896-1906 and had set his eyes on cutting rubber to make some money. Going up the Amazon in a steam boat he finally arrived at the mouth of the Xapuri and hooks up with seven men to cut rubber on contract. A month longer up the river, in a canoe, with a guide, finds the group on the banks of the Rio Acre trying to hack out a piece of jungle to make a home. They cut rubber trees, bleeding them, as a fever begans to decimate their ranks. In two months Yungjohann is alone having buried all his compadres. He struggles on, fighting animals and disease--He would find 18 foot boas sleepng on his chest when he awoke in the morning, which screemed like cats when he moved...But did he make money? No. his supplies cost him more than he made. He went out again for eight months, with new men, who also died. For ten years he perseverd in the wilds of the Amazon. The men he met, what he learned in the jungle and camps makes for reading found in no other book. This is the man's diary. IT'S TOO SHORT!

An Oracle of the Past is Ressurected for the Present.
First published in 1919, this oracular book was lost for many years. It has been brought back by Red Wheel/Weiser for all of us to have and to use as a wonderful guide for divination.

Monte Farber writes a beautiful introduction, bringing together all the pieces to the puzzle of what is known as "The Tablet of Jupiter." Mrs. John Le Breton gives us this magickal oracle based on nine of the astrological signs and seven planets. For this reason it is believed "The Tablet of Jupiter" dates back to the middle ages. But can it be used today, in everyday life? Not only can it, but it does. I use it every morning and it hasn't failed me yet.

Pick up The White Magic Book each morning and let it guide you through the day. No matter the tool of divination you use, from tarot or crystals to scrying, this oracle is the one to use. Whether you are a beginner or an adept, this book is one of the easiest to use.
