Bubble Trouble (My First Hello Reader With Flash Cards!)
This is a perfect book for K. It is a book about how bubbles grow and then how they die (pop). Great fantasy book with color illustrations and would be recommended to a Kindergarten level. Review was written by a 5th grader.

Murder in New York
This is an excellent mystery that reminds me quite a lot of Ruth Rendell's books. Mcmullen introduces us to Nellie, an ordinary middleaged lady with many friends. She builds up the supense from the first page on. The characters are very interesting and realistic. The ending was rather a surprise to me, a good plot.

The Perfect Beach Book
If you're planning a trip to the seaside, take this book along for your kids - it's the absolute perfect read-aloud about how family members grow closer when all the normal routines of daily life are left behind and sun & waves exert their magic. My kids always ask for this wonderful picturebook to be packed as we head out for our trips to the ocean - it's a family tradition now to read it on our first nights there! The pictures are really charming, full of small details to savor & enjoy.

Cannonballs and Courage: The Story of Port Gibson

cannonballs and courage
CANNONBALLS AND COURAGE is the bicentennial history of Port Gibson, Mississippi. The author interviewed many present day residents of the city, and the resulting work is a combination history and optimistic outlook for the future. This work also covers the controversial subject of the civil rights era and the 1960s boycott of white owned business, a subject not touched on in earlier histories. The book is richly illustrated, with photographs on almost every page.

The Case of Jennie Brice

Not at all dated
This book was written in 1912, but unless readers take the time to check out the publication history in the front of the book, they will probably never guess that this book is almost a century old. The Case of Jenny Brice is still an intriguing murder mystery with a realistic heroine. What strikes me most about this (and others by Rinehart) is that as you read, you don't think, "This is an amazing book to have been written 100 years ago." You think simply, "What an amazing book." This is a very short book, actually more of a novella, which makes it an excellent book to read when you can take a day just to enjoy a good mystery.

The Case of Jenny Brice is atmospherically set during a flood in a boardinghouse of a poor Pittsburgh neighborhood. From the very beginning, Rinehart develops a real sense of place. Unlike too many amateur detectives in novels, this heroine has a believable reason for being involved in the case. Again, seen as a product of 1912, Miss Pittman is an especially extraordinary woman, but even without that in mind, she is a convincing character. The Case of Jenny Bright has been referred to as not one of Rinehart's most outstanding mysteries, but in light of the stiff competition from her other novels, that is not really a criticism.

Compared with many of today's better mysteries, The Case of Jenny Bright holds its own. It is not just a curiosity because of its age; it is a fascinating mystery in its own right.

A good Book!!
Mary-Kate and Ashley get invited to stay the weekend at their friend, Patty's, grandmother's house, who is a famous author, and get to hear the grandmother read some of her new book. But of course, there is a mystery to solve, like always. The mystery is that the Patty's grandmother's cat, Flapper, turns up missing. I liked the book, and if you're a fan of mary-kate and ashley, you will too.

I love this book
Marykate and Ashely are very good at these books. And it shows them at a great age. The story and movie takes place at Hawaii. They can't wait to go swimming and biking. But someone on the 7th floor is taking things that are worth a lot of money. At first they think its someone who wants to stop a movie being flimed there. If you want to find out read this book, and if you are tired of winter this will be like a vacation!
