I got this book for my son about 2 years ago. He's 4 now and still likes it at Halloween time. My 1 year old also enjoys reading it. We actually got Halloween decorating ideas for our house from one of the pages in the book--my son wanted his house to look spooky like Barney's and we went and got similar decorations and hung them closely related to the way Barney had them. The kids were thrilled and had fun! I'd recommend this book for fun Halloween reading for the young ones!

My grandmother bought this book for my mother when I was still a very young child. I can still remember my mother reading me these stories each night. It is an excellent way for Christian parents to teach their children invaluable lessons about life while teaching them stories from the Bible as well. Even today - 18 years later - I will recall an illustration or a story from this book. To begin your children on a foundation of faith, I highly recommend this book. Even though it may be out of print, it's worth taking the time to find if you have the resources. Not a day goes by that I don't thank my mother for giving me these solid stories of God's faithfulness at a young age that I could grow in my faith and put my trust in God's awesome grace.

I purchased this book because I was having trouble coming up with ideas for bulletin boards. When I received the book I was expecting creative ideas to help me decorate my sunday class bulletin board. The book not only gives you patterns for story boards but it gives you table activities for the children to participate in too! I found this book extremely helpful. And for $6.97 how can you not pass it up?

Bill Grogan's goat is another great read/sing book. This is also one of the MENC recommended American folk songs that all children should know. It comes with the music in the front of the book. My students' ask me for this book often and I find it hard to resist them. It is an especially good classroom book, because the hardcover version is very big so all your students can see the pictures. You and your class can sing it in echo format or as written. It's hilarious from beginning to finish. Wonderful.

This book is about a bird dog that doesn't want to be one. One day he and his master went out hunting to shoot some candian geese and thats exactly what happened. He tould the bird dog to go fetch what he shot. The goose that he shot was still alive which the bird dog nursed back to health. Once the goose was better she wanted to go south and so did the dog. But he couln't fly. So they found out ways to make it there and they finally did! This book is absolutly great. It tells the reader what a friend ship is really meant to be! even if you are a diffrent species! Get it!

Being Henry fans for many years, we are always happy to see a new Henry book. My children and I agree that this is our favorite so far. We read it together and belly laughed as Henry dashed to save the boy from the pig! As we are small town midwesterners, we can relate to the county fair theme and are pleased that Henry got to experience both the excitement and competition a fair brings to town. My five year old son wishes the next Henry book would be "Henry the Police Cat". "Blue Ribbon Henry" is the cat's meow!

Mary Higgins Clark is the queen of suspense. When I picked up this book and started to read it I could not put it down until I was done . It is excellent. Mary Higgins Clark does it again.
