A scholarly clarification of a misunderstood subject.
This has got to be one of the best books any Muslim can read. It reveals the truths regarding the mysterious Dajjal and Gog and Magag. The prophecies relating to these figures are explained in such a way as to convince even the most unrelenting critic. What is most satisfying is that the explanations of the prophecies can be witnessed in the world we live in today! Those whose conscience would not allow them to believe in the fairy-tale like stories normally related to this topic, will be overwhelmed to learn the true realistic significance of the prophecies of the antichrist in the latter days as well as the convincing evidence in support of this interpretation (from the Quran, Bible, and Hadith reports). As already mentioned, Muslims wanting to understand the global trials and effects of Islam in the latter days will find this book an invaluable asset.

Description needed!
First, an apology for using the review mechanism to ask a question, but ... no description, and no apparent way to email the author directly? Intriguing as the title sounds, it's hard to guess what the book is about! Turkish is clearly highly related to Japanese; besides being a similarly agglutinative language, there are too many compelling parallels to ignore (e.g., { sore-, kore-, ore- } <=> { bura-, sura-, ora- }; { -ka, -mi (please excuse the dot) }. Is this book an attempt to establish a linguistic connection to Turkish? or a way of applying Arabic linguistic methods to an "unrelated" language?

Amazon base price: $37.50
Used price: $24.00

Excellent and interesting book
Muhammad Yunus describes in this book how the idea developed about starting a bank for the poor. The writing style of Yunus makes the book very easy to read; almost like a good novel. Because this book doesn't focusses on just micro-credit (because it's an autobiography) I think it's an excellent introduction to the topic of micro-credit and finding sollutions for the poor. But for more in-dept info, buy another.

Cooking for the champ

The Way To A Man's Heart
I bought this book in 1980, when I first heard of The Nation Of Islam. I was already in love with Muhammad Ali and knew that a book he approves of would be THE GREATEST. I was 19 years old then, and I immediately taught myself most of the recipes. I would invite friends over to try the recipes, and the results ranged from "who taught you how to cook so well," to "will you marry me." I learned quickly that if I wanted marriage proposals, I'd better learn how to cook well, and "Cooking For The Champ" by Lana Shabazz turned out to be the best teacher; not to mention its ability to help me get many marriage proposals. Thank you Lana Shabazz for making me a good cook and treasured wife. You are THE GREATEST chef. And yes, I still have my copy.

Where are the great women??
Where are they? Why aren't we like them? This ancient text leaves you with those questions, and has you drilling your heart over this final though...When will I become like them?

The introduction gives insight to the ancient text that was recored by As-Sulami Rahimullah. The life of him, and the basic orginization of his text Dhikr an niswa al muta 'abbidat as sufiyyat. The introduction is very useful to those who read english translated Sufi texts, because you must be trained formally and spiritually how to read a Sufi book. Why? Just because the book is old, translated into English and available does not make it a good rendering to the actual work itself.

Regarding thr format of the book, it is in a biogrophy style, with the Arabic text facing the English. The name of the women, her Kunya, or her name she was known by. Then the narration begins with the Isnad of how As-Sulami heard of the particular woman.

You are left with nothing but awe, love and want of the divine and at least left begging Allah for their qualities. these women were true devotees, they spent their time working hard for their akhira, and taking little from the dunya. May Allah give us all a glimpse of what these women had, for they had it (mar'ifa) at every waking momment!
