The BEST book
The Girl's Revenge is one of many books about the Hatfords and the Malloys.I love the sieries and think that this author is a very good writer!

Excellent reading
The Girls' Revenge is a really good book. I like the way Phyllis Reynolds Naylor can continue this series to the fourth book without having the excitement or comedy drag. I especially liked the fact that Peter keeps going over to the enemy camp, much to his brothers' anger and embarassment. I would recommend this book to any Phyllis Reynolds Naylor fan.

Exiting
I really liked this book it's really funny. It takes place in December. I would explain, but that would give it away.

ROMANTICALLY INTRIGUING!
What a delightful read! Roxanne found the perfect blend of toughness and tenderness in Logan Matthews character. Her descriptions of the cliffs on Lake Superior made you wish you were there! The intrigue and suspense were a delightful surprise in a romance novel. An excellent first novel!

ABSORBING ROMANTIC SUSPENSE
A romance I thoroughly enjoyed, with heart-warming, fully-drawn characters. The heroine, Claire, becomes an "instant mother" for her sister's three orphaned children, and takes them to live at a charming inn in Minnesota. There, she encounters an irresistible "man from the past" - the hunky (but mysterious) Logan, who threatens her heart even more than her peace of mind. I read this book well into the night. Couldn't put it down. Am looking forward to reading more books by this talented new author.

What a wonderful story -- of longing that can't be denied!
The heroine's poignant efforts to raise her sister's orphaned children tugs at your heart with just the right balance of humor and tenderness.

The hero sends your heart fluttering in an entirely different direction! Logan, sexy and dangerous, is irresistible in his forbidden bad-boy appeal. The climax to the romance is eagerly awaited -- satisfaction guaranteed!

The suspense keeps you on the edge of your seat, till you're sure you hear the north winds howling above, feel the crashing spray at your feet and sense the villain's breath tickling the back of your neck. It's all you can do to keep from rooting out loud for the 'good guys'.

Ms Rustand crafts her novel with a sure hand and a deft touch. Make room on your keeper shelf -- this book delivers!

Brilliantly explores Suburban Middle School Social Psyche
Although I purchased this book for my pre-teen and early teenage daughters, I was intrigued by the title, and was drawn to read "How I Wonder What You Are". I found myself shoulder deep within the often-twisted psychological world of a bright, intense and deeply caring middle school girl. I cannot imagine anyone reading this book without getting a twinge of "Ouch, I know all too well what that feels like!"

The main character, Laurel, guides the reader through her world of insecurity, good intensions hampered by the instinct for social survival, and perplexing romantic twinges. Laurel is a deep and creative thinker, who's driving ambition to seek fairness within a highly imperfect and often confusing world spirals her into bouts of internal conflict and self-doubt. All of this coupled with an all too real, and wondrously funny, sibling rivalry between Laurel and her younger sister, Jeanie, makes for a complex and touching story about female adolescence.

There is another dimension to this book, which should attract readers with technical or scientific leanings. The mystery of human intelligence versus that of machine is a secondary, yet richly explored and detailed theme throughout the story.

Last, but certainly not of minor import, is the richness of thought and humor with which L.M. Lynch weaves her characters. While Laurel intensely seeks sense within a seemingly ill-logical world, her little sister Jeanie revels colorfully within her own self-made world of fantasy. It is worth reading "How I Wonder What You Are" for the pleasure alone of sharing even brief moments with Jeanie's touching and often-hilarious attitudes. My 10 year old found some of Jeanie's lines and ditties to be so full of mirth, she continues to quote them months after having finished the book.

I highly recommend this book to readers of all ages.

One of my favorite books
This book was phenomanal. Whether you enjoy science fiction, mysteries, or coming-of-age stories, this is the book for you. L.M. Lynch successfully mixes together elements from many different genres to make a story that is truly unique. With a strong moral and superb use of humor, this book is a gem that is not to be missed. The characters are well developed and as you read it, you will think, "This is what my middle school was/is like!"

Fantasy skirts with reality in this story of change
The largest, best-loved climbing tree in town has been cut down by the new family to own its property, and Laurel and her friends can't understand why. Her uncertain friendship with the new owner's daughter results in a growing certainty about the son in the family: is he human, or is he a computer clone? Fantasy skirts with reality in this story of change.

TINA'S BOOK REPORT
Karen's Kitty cat club was a great story written by ANN M.MARTIN. This fiction story was a fascinating book. I give it five stars out of five.

The author told me about a kitty cat club. The story explained the rules in running a cat sitters club.

In the kitty cat club Karen wants to be the vice -president. She thinks she should because she came up with the idea for the club. Amanda has a cat named Priscilla and is Karens friend. Hannie is Karens best friend and she likes cats but never owned one. Then one day she decided to get a cat and she named it Pat.

Karens, Hannie, and Amanda now have a kitty cat club. They have meetings on Saturday afternoons. They bring their cats to Karen's house and discuss if anyone got a phone call from someone that wanted a cat sitter.

This story was interesting because there were lots of surprising parts in the story. I thought the kitty cat club would get a lot of customers but it didn't work out that way.

This story was well written because it was easy to understand. It was a fun topic and I recommend this book to those who like animals and who enjoy being part of a club. I think other kids would enjoy reading this book because it kept my attention and interest.

it's for all ages
this book is for people who like cats!

My Brother Didn't Make Me Do It
There is not much stuff related to the title and I actually think Julie's brother is nice.

I am although happy when I read the ending and I do give it five stars. If we could give one to ten stars, it would be ten.

Julie is concentrating on other things, not her brother. And one including JRA. It's a disease that makes her bones hurt and now she has to take pills.

I will want everyone to read it, especially people who have JRA.

My Brother Made Me Do It
This was a touching, funny book. The story is told through letters.
The book was about a girl named Julie who has JRA. She corresponds with her new pen pal, Mrs.Kaplan who helps her through hard times. Despite her JRA, Julie works hard, and in the end, she wins in a way.

This story shows what any kid with JRA can go through and what they can do.

My Favorite Book in the Universe
This book is really funny, but at the end it is very sad. I cried when I read this book. It is about a girl named Julie who has JRA. Julie's pen pal also has arthritis, and she is very wise. Julie's brother, Frankie, talks her into doing things that she knows she'll get in trouble for doing, but he also loves her very much, and at the end of the story, he is very helpful and kind to Julie. This is my favorite book of all time. You should read this book. I think it is a very important book.

A haunting book
In Del-Del, Kelleher evokes powerful images and emotions that even after 1 year still send shivers up my spine, and put a lump in my throat. Intriguing, powerful and fasinating.

wonderful
This book is thrilling and a great read for anyone from ages 10 and up. Kelleher is a great Australian writer of pre-teen novels, for your science fiction audience. This book is wonderfully writen. The story is about this young boy who thinks he is possed by Del-Del, it is shows his interaction with his family as the character of Del-Del, develops. Definately not a book that one can drop until it is finished

del-del is chilling
This book is one of the spookiest I have ever read. Reading it as a adult I don't know if I could have coped with it as a child, although my son and daughter did. They enjoyed it so much they insisted that Mum and Dad read it too, so we did. Although written and set in Australian it is absolutely universal and could have been set anywhere there are children with grief to deal with. A totally outstanding piece of work that I had to read in one sitting. Please read this book!

Jean Sulivan, Rebel Prophet of God's Kingdom
The first giveaway of Eternity, My Beloved is the epigraph which informs the reader that the title is borrowed from Nietzche: "I have never found the woman by whom I would want to have a child except this woman that I love--for I love you, eternity, my beloved." Official Catholic teaching rarely quotes that particular German philosopher for a defense of celibacy! But the phrase very aptly captures the spirit of the novel's protagonist, Father Jerome Strozzi, aka Tonzi (based on an actual worker-priest named Auguste Rossi) who immerses himself in the demi- monde of Paris' prostitutes, pimps and petty criminals. Once again the narrator plays a major part, this time complaining that Strozzi has hijacked his plan to write a novel about a prostitute named Elizabeth. But Strozzi's combination of anti- bourgeois sentiment, gospel conviction and humility proves irresistible. Freedom, that elusive gift Juan Ramon spent most of his life seeking without realizing it and only finally grasped in an act of self-incarceration, is Tonzi's hallmark. It allows him to plunge into incriminating circumstances daily, to see God's providence in an act of betrayal, a missed train or an eviction, to touch the hearts of street-wise prostitutes simply because his agenda is entirely unhidden.

"A long time ago he had recognized as a secret vice the habit of embracing formulas [e.g., 'Arise, take up...'], building arguments, using the Son of Man as another object, situating Jesus in history instead of, even today, living one's life sufficiently within His so as to grasp the meaning of those phrases and trying over and over to understand them. He apologized for being tactless, because it seemed to him that no one had the right to use these words if his own life had not first transformed them into bread and wine, into flesh and blood, and if he couldn't say them in his own personal voice." [61]

As the novel develops the narrator (named Sulivan) becomes more and more obsessed with Strozzi and his powerful influence over people, especially prostitutes. Like a true modern, he professes skepticism about Strozzi's celibacy but can find no evidence to impugn it; rather, the women speak of his friendship and his demand that they exercise their spiritual freedom. "All that he was good for was to rekindle light in eyes that had become dead. Meanwhile he was paying the price." He is regularly roughed up by the pimps whose business he threatens and reported to the chancery by virtuous Christians whose wayward pleasures he subverts.

He is regularly roughed up by the pimps whose business he threatens and reported to the chancery by virtuous Christians whose wayward pleasures he subverts.

By the end Sulivan has abandoned all pretense of plot and is simply describing Strozzi or quoting him. The pages read like the spiritual journal which is so far only his third book to appear in English. As an introduction to it, here is a final Sulivanism from Eternity based on Strozzi's life that makes explcit the Paschal character of that priest's mission: "Love wants eternity; it is closer to death than to life: nothing can prevent it from sooner or later being crucified."

A Staretz in Paris
Sulivan does a wondrous thing: he tells his tale in two keys. It is both a post-modern tale of urban tragedy and chaos, and a kind of hagiography replete with references to St. John of the Cross, St. Teresa of Avila, and especially St. Francis de Sales. He manages to strip the pietistic mask from Christian sanctity and reveal just how gritty, scandalous, and healing the Spirit of Christ is in every age.

A priest and a retired whore in occupied Paris.
"Jerome Strozzi is a renegade priest who roams the seamiest side of Paris resurrecting the dead. No wonder he barges in and takes over Jean Sulivan's novel, "Eternity, My Beloved." which was supposed to be about a retired whore called Elizabeth ... The book stabs at the deepest stuff of life and it might, if only in those flashes when eternity cracks and you slip the border into that buried beyond, let you see again that it is all possible, all right here waiting to be lived. Because Strozzi is. Because Strozzi bears witness that eternity is now and resurrections can happen on any corner." -- Tim McCarthy, NATIONAL CATHOLIC REPORTER

INSPIRING, ENCOURAGING, UPLIFTING!
Many thanks to Linda Hollies for this BODACIOUS book! Our adult Sunday School class read it this Fall. Thanks to her thought-provoking writing and the "Just Between Us" questions at the end of each chapter, it provided us with a format for heart-to-heart sharing and lively conversation. Personally, it has deepened my Faith and given me the courage to live a fuller, bolder life. The reason I have written this review is because I am in the process of ordering 2 more copies as Christmas gifts and I want to spread the word about this book of Life Lessons. Our class loved it so much, we gave it as a gift to one of our bodacious Pastors. We would really love to have Linda Hollies come preach at our church someday!

uplifting bible lessons for everyone
I came upon this book by chance when it first came out. Linda Hollies twist to the women in the bible related to my life today!!

This is One Bodacious Book
I read Linda Hollies book and loved it! I read a chaper a night while on vacation. I couldn't shut up talking about it to others and decided to purchase a few copies after I had to return the one I borrowed. I knew I wanted it in my personal library so I could refer to it whenever needed. It spoke to my heart and put a fine point on experiences common me and I'm sure many others. This book helped me to see me in terms of how God sees me and places me in key pivotal places in the biblical record and I found that very validating. This book's relevancy goes way beyond gender or any descriptor that might limit how we love ourselves or others. I read and highlighted portions for my son to read and used the book for us to explore our views on male/female relationships. I was amazed at how open he was to it and I know he found some things relevant to experiences he has had with women. I purchased three more copies to give as gifts or just to give to someone who looks like they need to know the truth about who they are in Christ and the world.

I Think the Best in this Series!
This book is the best in the series so far. The mystery was very good and kept me guessing until the end. In fact, I had picked another murderer and plotter entirely. Also, Fidelmaa is much more likeable in this series. My main complaint so far was that I really did not like her. She was too haughty and full of herself with an acid tongue. In this book, that seems to change. We meet a much more vulnerable Fidelma, but one who is still as smart as a tack. She finds her way through the morass and one or two red herrings to discover the murderer and to thrwart a very dangerous plot against her brother's kingship. She sets out to find out who arranged an assisination of her brother and a rival king who is supposedly trying to make peace with her brother's kingdom, and discovers a missing monk from a neighbouring abbey, an illegal mining operation and a very dangerous political plot. Great stuff!

Interesting and enjoyable mystery
The Monk who vanished is a mystery set in 6-7th century Ireland. It is very detailed and brings the reader easily to this ancient time without sounding like a history or anthropology lesson. The mystery stroy is very well developed and has unexpected twists and turns that are justified and well put together.

This was worth waiting for!
As an avid reader of the Sister Fidelma books I was more than pleasantly surprised by The Monk Who Vanished. It kept me guessing from the start with unexpected twists and turns.

Fidelma's world is brought to life in this seventh installment in the mystery series. This is a highly personal adventure for her with her brother's kingdom at stake. As always there is more than meets the eye in this adventure. With all of the sub-stories Tremayne keeps you guessing as to whether it will all come together in the end or if they are separet mysteries unto themselves. With everything thrown at her, Fidelma keeps her cool and saves the day with her wit and incredibly sharp mind.

This was a story well worth waiting for. I eagerly await the next installment!

Searching
This is an awesome book I had as a child. My older sister was very Icky and Picky and both of us have been searching for this book and it has been very unsuccessful. If you have one hold on to it, because as you can see they are hard to come across. I wish I had held on to mine to pass on to my child and nieces and nephews.

Great Book!
This is a super book! I still have my copy from when I was a child. It is a little worn because it was my favorite book. I have two sisters and icky picky fit them both! It is now my youngest childs favorite book. We read it 4-5 times a day sometimes. It's a really cute book, if you can find a copy.

Great Book
I had a copy of this book when I was kid. I loved it and read it all the time. I still call my older sister - Icky Picky! And she still gets mad!!! I wish I still had my copy - I can't believe it's out of print. If you have it, hold onto it! It's a great book.
