A heartwarming story for children
Our family thoroughly enjoyed this story. The waretcolor pictures are wonderful. Knowing that this is based on a true story is a plus. It shows the love and compassion of children.

Loved the book.
I don't know who loves this story more, myself or my daughter! I look forward to reading it every night with her. Finding a book with a positive role model for girls is not easy to do--this book has it.

BUSTER, WHERE ARE YOU? I LOVE YOU!
This is a tender story illustrating a universal love we share with our four legged furry friends. This is a great story with warm and lively pictures.

Beautiful!
This book is lovely. The pictures are gorgeous. The text only compliments the pictures. The text is simple and easy to understand.

I used this book when teaching the gifted students math and science. The book is so lovely that many times my students would just read it because of that, not because they were trying to see a concept.

Now I use it as a goal for my personal photography. (I can only hope to be that good someday!)

This is a gorgeous book and well worth the money.

10 Star book on nature and patterns
If I could give 10 stars to this book, I would. As a fellow nature photographer and instructor, we use this book as the text book for our photography programs, especially the ones on composition, patterns, and natural design. William Neill's photography is outstanding, each picture simple and clear to the point being made. The text is a reflection of the outstanding quality and precision of the photographs, making their point clearly and simply, yet capturing the imagination. You will start looking at the world differently after reading this book, having your imagination captured by the shadows and cracks on the sidewalk, the curls in the petal of a flower, the fascination of designs found in food, plants, the clouds, everywhere you look will seem fresh and new, seen through new eyes.

Interested in math and geometry, this book will open a new world to you in understanding the complexities of nature as well as geometry and other sciences to you. Fractals, rectangles, spirals, mathematical computations we all learned in school come alive under the simple and magical words and the gorgeous images by Mr. Neill. I would include this as a text book in any math class, inspiring and opening student's eyes to the possibilities found in nature.

For nature and photo enthusiasts, you will go back to this book time and time again for inspiration and information. It will help you understand why rose petals open as they do, how a drop of water can hold the most volume before it explodes, making yet another geometrical shape. You learn why cactus have spines, how lava cools, cracking in even shapes. A very exciting lesson comes in learning how scientists, after many frustrating centuries, with the help of computers finally came up with a mathematical computation for measuring mountains, coastlines, clouds, fog, the physical and ethereal elements of nature. The chapter on fractals really expands your understanding of the sciences.

Mr. Neill has done a sequel to this book and it is also worth getting, as is anything he touches. He is an inspired and dedicated photographer, who some say is carrying on the work of his mentor, Ansel Adams, but I say he is carving his own unique road, in someways surpassing the master's work.

Revealing and Feeling Photography
Each page is worthy of framing itself! You feel as though you are with the photographer as each description of the picture is both clear and inviting the reader to feel what was happening at the time the photo was taken ...All aspects of nature, from flowers to underwater scenes....are creatively captured for the viewer. I loved this book and din't want to finish it...

Champagne & Caviar & Other Delicacies: Celebrate With the Finest Luxuries
Published in Hardcover by Black Dog & Leventhal Pub (1998)
Authors: Judith C. Sutton and George Wieser
Amazon base price: $11.98

Expands your horizon on gourmet foods
Of course, I knew the champagne and chocolate parts would be interested, but I found the chapter on truffles rather fascinating, too. I had caviar only once, and didn't like it, but now that I've read up on it--I may give the caviar a second chance. This book is perfect for those of us with champagne tastes and a tap water budget!

Makes the inaccesible accessible
This is a great book. At least a dozen delicacies I wouldn't have tackled without a good roadmap are made approachable and delicious. It's witty and informative, too.

Delicious...
Makes you want to go out and buy a bottle of Dom P and go get some beluga. Highly recommend it but the book will cost you a lot more than $10 to stock up on the ingredients!!

The Complete Idiot's Guide to a Healthy Relationship
Published in Paperback by Alpha Books (10 December, 1997)
Authors: Judith Kuriansky and Judy, Dr. Kuriansky
Amazon base price: $17.95
Average review score:

Excellent resource for couples of all ages
I'm almost sad that they called this an "Idiot's Book" because it makes it seem like the information in here is very low-level. It's actually incredibly helpful for all levels of couples - from those who have never dated anyone else before to those who have dated quite a bit but now want to learn more about their relationship.

There are chapters on everything in here - cheating on the internet, the way you deal with your partner's parents, dealing with losses, your arguing styles, how you criticize each other, working through sexual incompatabilities, you name it. I can't imagine any couple that couldn't learn a few things by reading through this. Even if one partner reads it and then talks to the other about the key topics, it'll help a relationship shake out the kinks.

Highly recommended.

A must have relationship guide!
My boyfriend and I read this together (out loud) and discussed it as we read it. We started our relationship with this book. I feel that because we discussed everything from the start our relationship grew and was healthy from the start. (we are now married) I recomend this book to all my friends from the ones just starting out to the ones having problems. It helps you learn more about yourself as well as your partner. No this book doesn't tell you... this has to be this way etc. etc. (it doesn't catagorize you, or put you into separtate groups) It's more like a get you thinking kind of book, which in turn opens you up to your feeling, emotions, and your partner. If you take the time to read it you won't regret buying this book!

Great book for rebuilding your marriage
Easy to read and discuss with your partner. This book has a lot of excellent information and good ideas for getting a sliding relationship back on track. I recommend each parntner reading a chapter, then taking 30 to 60 minutes to discuss it together. I especially enjoyed the quizzes.

Highly recommend this book to anyone looking for answers.
The further one delves into "Conquer Crisis With Health Esteem" the harder it is to put down. Judith writes in the first person from her heart and soul. You get the feeling she is speaking directly to you as a friend. With each paragraph, page and chapter you are given the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of your exsistence. To observe where you came from, to see where you are now and what you can do to modify what is yet to come is truely an enlightening experience.

A Very Practical Self Help Book for Everyone
A REVIEW

of

Conquer Crisis with Health Esteem

by Judith Parker Harris

I wanted to write a review of this book for all of those healthy readers who might not consider it to be of value to them. I was one of those people. I am rarely ill, consider myself a pretty well adjusted person, have friends, a career, and deal with all of lifes little surprises fairly well. Also I have rarely been interested in or read what I considered a self-help book. And then I turned 49. All of a sudden I wasn¹t dealing with anything very well. And I was going through a complete reevaluation of my entire life....and coming up short. It was a very uncomfortable year. It left me in something of a crisis.

I picked up Judith Parker Harris¹ book because I have been privileged to work with her for the last few years producing public service announcements. For the first few years of our friendship, I didn¹t know that she had Multiple Sclerosis. And when I found out I was more than impressed by her ability to have cured her symptoms and controlled her disease. I have had friends completely debilitated by this disease and I had never known anyone who had managed to control it before. And when I talked to her about some of the things I was going through, she always had something very insightful to say. So I bought a copy of the book and skimmed it, pretty sure it wouldn¹t be relevant to my situation. I was wrong.

I have now read Judith¹s book cover to cover. I did the exercises. I took a long time to finish the book. And as I did each of the exercises, and read each section, I found a clarity that I hadn¹t expected. More than once I found myself saying: Well this finally makes sense. She gave me the tools I needed to make some changes. And now I find that I¹m going back to reread certain parts of the book sort of as a measurement and check on myself. When I am faced with difficult decisions or situations that leave me feeling powerless I can refer back to this book to regain a sense of control, a feeling of being able to solve my problem in a healthy way.

So, if you¹re looking for some answers, whether to a particular crisis or, as in my case, to several long standing issues you¹ve managed to not deal with and which are holding you back, you might try this book. It¹s one of the most worthwhile uses of time and energy I have encountered in a long time. To quote Heather Locklear and all those LOreal spokeswomen, in the end I did it because I¹m worth it.

HONEST APPROACH TO SELF-HEALING
"Conquer Crisis with Health Esteem" is about the truth---how searching for the truth will help increase your self-esteem. Facing your worst enemy, is another way of putting it. In 1985, author Judith Parker Harris did just that in order to get well from Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Not accepting this fate and after months of hopeless searching for a cure within the traditional medical system, Judith turned inwards. She sought deep into her soul where haunting memories stepped forward demanding her immediate attention. Slowly Judith became an expert in healing herself. It took five years. This workbook combines the soul with the physical. It lists the many questions Judith had to face in order to get well as well as some of her encouragingly brave and open answers. "Conquer Crisis with Health Esteem" is for anyone who wishes to master any crisis.

Creating Union: The Essence of Intimate Relationship
Published in Paperback by Pathwork Pr (01 December, 2002)
Authors: Guide, Eva Pierrakos, Judith Saly, and Evie Hansen
Amazon base price: $14.95
Average review score:

Creating Union is a must for healthier relationships.
Creating Union brought great change in my life with my life partner, children, friends & people I encountered in my everyday life. I found that Creating Union had great insight to peoples' hangups that prevented healthly, spiritual growth in order to relate to the world and mainly to oneself in an honest, loving, kind manner. I recommend this book to all people. It brought me in touch with me which in turn help my relationship with my life partner. If this book has found you concider yourself blessed. Enjoy!

Great book for root cause analysis of relationships
This book really gets to the core of relationships and why we behave, feel, and live as we do. We are so beautifully delicate human beings with so much potential if we just knew how to release that potential! This book explores our conscious and subconscious beliefs about relationships which broadens out to other aspects of our lives as well. If you liked, "Men are from Mars..." you'll love this!

"Required Reading"
"Creating Union, the Pathwork of Relationship," by Eva Pierrakos and Judith Saly, is the deepest, most insightful book on creating and maintaining the man/woman relationship, within the vision of Christ Consciousness, that I have ever read. It should be "required reading" for anyone involved in a relationship, searching for relationship, or even thinking about relationships. Self-knowledge and honesty, essential to any loving union, are the keys to this joyous fusion of the souls with each other and with God - it is "life." All my thumbs are UP!

Curios: Poems
Published in Paperback by Sarabande Books (2000)
Author: Judith Taylor
Amazon base price: $12.95
Average review score:

Dazzling
Judith Taylor's poems are funny, scary, and startling both because of the emotion they reveal and the language they are woven from. The women of Curios transcend limitation even when they still think they're surrounded by it, and in showing this Taylor allows her readers to transcend limitation too.

Read this book!
Taylor's work is a canny combination of candor and deceptions, illusions, allusions and assertions deftly rendered into short poems that take up much more space in the world than one might think from looking at them. For the most part, she effaces narrative: "I believe in plot, my dear, only when it suits me." She provides both the words and the gaps. Lacunae are not seconds for the reader to breathe, but absences that become part of each poem's strange logic. She devises and assembles details that immediately become the crux, liminal fringe that becomes the essence of a situation. You'll hear echoes of Louise Bogan and James Tate, of humor and bewilderment, weariness, acceptance and defiance. There is beauty in both the vehicle and subject of these poems. In the absence of ligature is a study of loss and desire. As you read, the lines that you will start to memorize add up: "I can't stop computing the long division of my sadness" and "In time, the world begins to shape your stubbourn mind." The pleasures and provocations of this poetry are bountiful.

Curios is a true breakthrough work
Believe the blurbs and promo copy on this book. Judith Taylor has pulled off a marvelously original collection of poems that are simultaneously eerie, witty, and profound. And she succeeds in spite of following none of the usual poetry workshop precepts: there's no sense of place, no meter, none of the usual topics. Each poem is written in seven or eight lines, each end-stopped, and the effect is dramatic. Thank you Sarabande Books for defying convention and publishing this work.

SUPERIOR METHODOLOGY; VERY COMPREHENSIVE
Designed by experts, and with care; "Current Pediatric Diagnosis & Treatment" is one book that both paediatricians and GPs know too well. It covered every aspect of child's health-care in a way that would arouse envy in other texts. Its superior methodology is one factor that has kept its name above others. The authors of this book deserve tons of commendations. They did a fantastic job. Every chapter of the book speaks for them!
Its illustrations are utterly comprehensive; and the frequency with which its information is updated ensure that only the most current advances in paediatrics are included.
Very welcomed! Books of this quality would ensure that doctors (and medics) will always live upto their respective billings.

Children won't seem a problem with this book
Everyone recommended big fat books of pediatrics, with lots of words and little answers. But this book is all you want and need to know about in your pediatrics rotations. With diagnostic essentials, getting through diseases just gets a lot easier, and with therapeutical answers, it just builds good doctors. I specially liked the chapter on antimicrobials and vaccines, so essential in pediatric care. Definitely a must have for a good medical student with lot to learn and too little time (at the end, that's what medicine is all about). All my medschool classmates just wanted to have my book.

An Excellent hands on manual
This book is a great combination of up to date, accurate information in a clear and concise form. It gives you all of the details you need to make a sound diagnosis and is still easily readible. A great value and a solid buy for both in the office and the hospital.
