enthusiastic fun
What's great here, in addition to stellar photos and high production values (what kind of paper is this?) is the surprising quality of the selection of the people. I like seeing boxers and map makers, basketball players and glass blowers set next to each other.

To surpass oneself is among life's greatest rewards
Wayne Gretzky's retirement from hockey seems a fitting occasion to remark on the phenomenal collection of virtuosos Ken Carbone has gathered together in his new book. The gift of a Virtuoso like Gretzky, and of this book, is the realization that absolute focus and dedication to a passion can lead one beyond oneself. That message resounds like a gong through the handsomely designed pages and expressive photographs of The Virtuoso. The thrill of sharing a Virtuoso's talent is the transcendence it offers, the visceral feeling that one is witnessing, in the Eastern sense, life lived fully in the moment. Inspiration, indeed.

Buy this book for everyone you care about
Joseph Campbell's sadly over-used expression "Follow your bliss" is personified in the 40 profiles that fill the pages of The Virtuoso. What a revelation to find that the world possesses such remarkable individuals in places we might least expect to find them. The Virtuoso says much about taking risks, about going as far as you can to arrive at a place that is larger than yourself. Love, and a dash of madness, are at the core of every choice a Virtuoso makes, shaping the lives of these extraordinary talents in the most unimagined ways, and those who come into contact with them. It takes a vision to see the vision in others. Clearly this author has that. Bravo!

Whispers Through Time and Space VOL 1
"Jello Cheer", is a delightful poem for exposing young children to poetry! "Watching", celebrates the child's discovery of the world around him/her. "The Storm", reminds us to live now,so that we have no regrets tomorrow. Ms. Bender's writings are filled with hope, faith, and the magic of life. I look forward to more works by this promising new writer.

I enjoyed reading her works and am proud to be a part of the Pocket Buddies family. Judith is very generous. She is working on Pocket Buddies to help children in need. She does this by donating a portion of the proceeds to children's charities. Everyone should read this book.

Women (and Men)--Get This Book!
A friend recommended this book when I told her about a horrible experience that I had from a co-worker who attempted to destroy my reputation and took credit for a project I put my guts into.

Briles writes with such common sense on who to deal with situations like mine--my only regret is that I didn't discover her wtiting sooner. This is the best book I've read in several years.

Ideal book for conflicts in the workplace
Our company specializes in diversity and gender issues in the workplace. We are high recommending this book to all our clients who have women as employees.

A good book for working with and managing women
I got this book from a recommendation of a friends wife--she had heard the author speak recently in Denver. I manage a retail operation that is 90% women--the author has helped me a great deal. Get this book.

Abraham: The Initiator on Spirit, Will and Ego

Strongly recommended reading for students of metaphysics
Abraham: The Initiator On Spirit, Will And Ego by Judi Sutherland and her husband Larry Sutherland is the fascinating story of a woman's psychic experience and transcendental contact with a spiritual being who identified himself as Abraham. The result of their communication, including answers to some of the deepest human mysteries of experience and explorations into the nature of the Will, the Self, and God, are all recorded in this compelling testimonial. Most of Abraham: The Initiator On Spirit, Will And Ego is presented in a question-and-answer format, with Abraham's wisdom in sharp relief. A riveting metaphysical treatise on the oldest and greatest questions of existence, Abraham: The Initiator On Sprit, Will And Ego is strongly recommended reading for students of metaphysics, psychic phenomena, and channeling.

Review by Bernie P. Nelson
The Spiritual model in this book is outstanding and deserves a top star rating. The authors are highly qualified to present this information. Judi Sutherland has 23 years experience in the health field and is a Registered Nurse with a Masters in psychiatric nursing. Larry Sutherland has a masters in Management/Supervision and has worked with health care programs. The concept and mission of Additive Creations, as the creation source, is connecting to Mind through Will. The model provides a loving path for SPIRIT realization and provides fresh insights into the nature and relationships of SPIRIT, Will and Ego, and provides for the creation of a positive Spiritual reality continuously. The revelations are received through Judi by automatic writing. The message is not a rehash of other belief systems, but understandable information is provided for improvement in daily decisions and living. It's a must read for anyone interested in self-improvement.

Richard Fuller, Senior Editor, Metaphysical Reviews, Oct 01
"Our true nature is SPIRIT, Which is GOD. Unfortunately, we have been diverted from our primary purpose as co-creators with GOD by an error in creation. This error is Ego and it must be dealt with." Thus begins Abraham and the reader's connection to a new and better understanding of who we are, and who we can be.

Judi and Larry Sutherland, authors, visionaries and receivers of automatic writing from the entity Abraham the Initiator, have assembled a body of knowledge that contributes considerable insight into the true meaning and purpose of life. "Ego is attempting to keep us locked into the Illusionary Reality (our world on Earth) and its insanity and SPIRIT is endeavoring to attain our release," write the Sutherlands.

Abraham coalesces many spiritual concepts into a significant new direction in spiritual thinking. It is evident, for instance, that many organized, traditional religions criticize metaphysical ideologies. And metaphysicists shun traditional religious concepts such as Christ -, and even de- emphasize God by calling God the "Universe".

Abraham the Initiator, through the Sutherlands, has depicted a philosophy that clearly demonstrates a relationship between the two ideologies, and that spiritual awakening is the beauty of Abraham. In this time of uncertainty and divisiveness, the people on Earth need to be brought together.

Judi and Larry Sutherland, companions in Spirit, bring us the very old yet very new (to us) means of salvation, peace and happiness. In this reviewer's opinion, Abraham can help actualize the power to succeed!

An excellent channeled book that offers a means to salvation, peace and happiness. How to damp out the Ego to allow Spirit to manifest. Great!

An outstanding contribution to Civil War studies.
After Chancellorsville: Letters From The Heart is a collection of the Civil War correspondences between Emma Randolph and Private Walter G. Gunn of the 11th New Jersey Infantry as Dunn. They began their exchange of letters when Walter went off to war and Emma was a young girl not yet twenty years of age. Water was carried from the bloody battlefield of Chancellorsville to a hospital in Baltimore. And it was their that he relayed to her the everyday events that comprise an intimate, eye-witness account representing a compelling and informative account of the hardships he endured while in the service of his country. Emma's letters were of the familiar things of home that Walter so badly needed to counter the horror that he lived through -- and almost died from. In time, the grew to love one another and planed a life together after the carnage and slaughter of war was ended. After Chancellorsville is an engaging and much appreciated contribution to the growing body of Civil War literature left in legacy for the benefit of future generations.

Great and memorable reading!

A rare view of the homefront during the Civil War
Among all the hundreds of books about the Civil war, very few show the human dimension of men away on duty and the folks back home. Here Private Walter Dunn of New Jersey, wounded at Chancellorsville and with a minie ball still in his shoulder, is sent to a hospital in Baltimore. He works as a medical orderly as the wounded stream in from Gettysburg. And he renews his correspondence with Emily Randolph back home in Plainfield, New Jersey ( he lost her letters to a Rebel scavenger on the battlefield) Emily is an unforgettable young woman, playful, optimistic, dutiful, and serious, a fine observer of the people and the activities at home (among them the Lincoln reelection campaign). Walter, in turn, is in a vantage point for interpreting the events of the war, particularly as Baltimore lies vulnerable to Confederate attack. There is an interesting love story here, but more than that, the book is outstanding in reaching daily life and customs during the war. A fine addition to Civil War literature.

TONS OF INFORMATION
What is impressive about this book is that it covers a wide range of women's health issues: hormone changes, osteoporosis, menopause, bladder infections, fertility/infertility, cancer, fibroids, endometriosis, high blood pressure, heart disease, and the importance of diet and exercise. While the book covers a vast variety of issues, there are some topics that are quite brief and not as detailed as you will find in other books. Although there are topics which cover virtually every age of a woman's life, the emphasis is placed on the teen years through to the thirties. If you are looking for a more in-depth book, you may find what you are looking for in "Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom" by Dr. Christiane Northrup, and if approaching menopause, be sure to read, "The Wisdom of Menopause" also by Dr. Christiane Northrup. Northrup's books are complete, in-depth, extremely well written and both are more than deserving of five-star ratings.

A Concise Book About Women's Health
This is a wonderful book for any woman from Teens to Age 100! It is like sitting down and having a chat with a friend who happens to be a doctor. There is no stuffiness, institutional reading but a concise place to learn about what is happening to your body as a woman ages, what tests she needs and what the results could be and possibly mean without causing panic. The reader doesn't feel like she is either being spoke down to or that the information is so technical, it flies over one's head.

The reader is not only treated to knowledge to empower her to good health to grow old by but the material is also practically related in Dr. Reichman's sharing of her own stories.

I think this is a must have for any woman's personal library!

Excellent !
After visiting four doctors, and not knowing what to expect next, because I wasn't getting any better, I was desperate, believe me. This book answered all my questions and described everything I was going through in detail, all pieces go together know. Thanks Dr. for taking time of your life to give us the precious gift of health knowledge.

Keep this a secret.
This is the first book I have read about grocery where the battle between manufacturer and retailer is examined for the dirty little war that it really is - too many pass over this as just another compeitive issue, when it is a fight that will see one side losing big time.

Buy a copy and keep it a secret - you will appear to have mastered the major strategic issues in grocery, this book is that good.

The issues are examined in a balanced way and the conclusions are well drawn. Be warned, it takes time to read as every three or four pages gave me so many ideas that I would put it down and write a paper inside my business from the ideas and options the book had generated.

Well worth the cost, but keep this between just us.

Clear, Deep and fun to read
I have been reading books on retailing for at least five years, and I have no doubt this is the one book that everyone in Retailing should read. It is clearly written (with some anglo french words which give flavour), and though Corstjean its a great acdemic researcher , this book can be read by anyone. Its deep, because they go into deep analysis of the real problems facing food stores today. Its deep because their explanations go always to the basic understanding of the problems. Its not a book full of superficials facts, its arguments are always supported by basic consumer behaviour theory.

A Contemporary Marketing "Must Read" Book
The Corstjens have produced a rare book. It's not -as it's commonly the case- an extended article. It's a book full of precious content with several deep insights about the trade. By the way, that's another accomplishment of them: they talk about real things, not about academia concepts, although they do have deep fundaments in all their arguments. It's a dense and high level reading for all of those interested in understanding the naturally existent bargain disputes between manufacturers and retailers.

Great read, but left many shows out
I really had a wonderful time reading through "TV Mania", but I realized there were several shows which made an impact on America that were not listed in the timeline: what about "Mr. Peepers"?

TV MANIA
PERHAPS THE GREATEST BOOK THAT I HAVE SEEN WITH REFERENCE TO THE TV SHOWS THAT INFLUENCED MY LIFE. THE NOSTALGIA AND PICTORIAL DISPLAY OFFERED MANY WARM MEMORIES AND HUMORISTIC REFERENCES. WELL DONE, NOT OVERDONE.... BRAVO

TV LOVERS ALERT!!!!!
What a wonderful and loving book that chronicles tv from the beginning. The book is a treasure to hold. If you love tv you must not miss this.

Review of Alexander....
Overall, this was an excellent book. It does not differ much from the english version, and it is, as is the english, wonderfully illustrated. It is not perfect, however. I thought that it was well translated into spanish, however, the words are not as easily read and understood as the english version. Also, it was very disappointing to me that the character's names are the traditional, english names, and were not translated into their spanish cognates. That detracts from any feelings of non-ethnicity and partiality that good literature nees.

Great addition to your library in Spanish
This is a great book for those of us who want to raise our children bilingually and equally wonderful for Spanish-speakers. The Spanish is fun--I also love the repetition of "el día terrible, horrible..." The fact that the names are not translated is fine--not all English names have a Spanish translation and vice-versa. I believe it keeps the integrity of the original version and the Alexander character.

ME VOY A AUSTRALIA !
Qué dice un niño al que TODO le sale mal ? "Me voy a Australia !". Los dibujos - en blanco y negro - están espléndidamente ilustrados, la cara de Alexander es indescriptible por su picardía. Un libro para leer y ver con los hijos a la hora de dormir. Un libro alentador, especial para aquellos niños "difíciles"
