Entertaining and Touching!
I truly enjoyed reading Chincoteague Pony Tales by Bernie Pleasants. It was a quick read - I couldn't put it down. I've been to the Pony Swim before but after reading this book I made it a point to go to my first Chincoteague Pony Auction and it was as good as the book! Don't miss either one!

A great book filled with heart warming stories!
I have been going to Chincoteague all my life, and this book really captures the memories I have. Mr. Pleasant's does a wonderful job re-telling the tales that he has encountered during all his years auctioneering for the event. After you read this book, you'll want to pack your bags and go to Chincoteague to experience it for yourself!

At last: the manual we were waiting for
This books contains it all: who, why, what and how to make effective, efficient, creative and committed change. Changes that last and last. Very practical, down to earth, yet based on a powerful and imaginative model. Don't read it, use it!

Everything you always wanted to ask about change, but ...
were afraid to know. McWinney shows in this "fieldbook" how any change process can be tackled. He convinced me how working with myself, the groups and the resources at hand can create better and longer lasting solutions. Not only to problems but also to the issues of problems that were very hard to solve. The book is a practicle guide to his "Paths of change" and should belong to every bookshelf that contains literature on change and social issues. One warning: this book is not about quick fixes and will only work for you when you are not afraid to venture where you thought you wouldn't dare to go.

An exquisite book portraying Elton John the singer...
This book shows the extreme works of Elton John and Bernie Taupin. The beautiful pictures within the book make the book. Elton John has worked hard to get where he is at now, and he will soon be better has he grows older. I suggest this book for any Elton John lover!

How wonderful life is while they're in the world. . .
A crowning achievement, The Complete Lyrics wraps Taupin's lyrics (and the -- thankfully -- lingering haunts of Elton's melodies) with some of the most beautiful art ever to accompany pop and rock writing. The only flaw lies in the editors' failure to check the accuracy of certain lyrics. Nevertheless, The Complete Lyrics reminds fans and critics alike of the indelible mark John and Taupin have made on twentieth-century music.

Great overall skating book!!!
This is such a good book!! I have read it countless times and I still get information out of it. It goes over jumps, turns, spins, competing, mental preparation, physical preperation, choosing a coach, buying equipment, and more! No, I wasn't hired by Patti Tashman (the author) to promote her book, I just like it a lot.

AN EXCELLENT COMPILATION OF SKATING KNOWLEDGE!!
"The Essential Figure Skater" is the perfect book for the novice or more advanced skater. Covering everything from equipment, to choosing a learn to skate program, to competitions. As a parent of a Free Style Skater,I can recomend this book to anyone considering becoming involved with figure skating. I wish I had this book when my daughter begain skating, it would have saved me alot of frustration!

Getting Ready
This was given to me 4 years ago when I started on my Cancer recovery road. Since then I have bought and given away at least 10 copies. I continue to have them available and give them out as early as possible in other's recovery. I don't know where I would have been without it and everyone I have given it to asks where to get it for someone they know. Thank,s Bernie.

Getting Ready
At a time when one's heart is filled with terror after a diagnosis, and the future looks bleak, and the world has closed down around you to the point that everything seems surreal, it seems nearly impossible to breathe, much less to look at serious medical treatment positively. While you may be someone for whom the "foo foo" element of meditation may be something you'd have to overcome to listen to Siegel, I can attest that the effort is worth it. This tape is calming, nurturing, and hopeful. Facing life-changing medical experiences, its holistic support, and Siegel's own sort of safely reassuring voice-of-your-favorite-uncle tone, can ratchet down the fear. I highly recommend it.

Have a question
Is this the same tape as "Healing Meditations" which I had from several years ago? That tape is EXCELLENT! May have saved my life - I am a leukemia survivor. Bernie and I traded letters - he is a visionary.

Excellent
I am desperately looking for a version of this Book (tape) in Spanish. Can you help me?

Like Dorothy on the Yellow Brick Road
It is my fortune to be blessed with good health and it was my great fortune to find and read this book! Like Dorothy, I read my way down this path with the feeling of adventure that one gets when truly being educated. Thank you, Mr. Barasch, for your wisdom and very good writing on this interesting topic. The insights into illness and healing you have presented I have found in none other of the several books I have read on the topic of health/mind-body connection. I especially appreciated the metaphors you used. Perhaps one day my health fortune will change, but I think I will be well-equipped to handle it now that I have your book in the library that is in my brain!

Incredible book!
I felt very validated reading this book. When I was very sick with an auto immune illness, I often encountered the mind-boggling paradoxes involved in bushwacking my way through the jungle of the healing process. It's this that Barasch totally nails and affirms in a very supportive way. Kudos to you, Ian Marc Barasch -- and thank you.

I didn't find this book till six years after it was published, which makes me think it has been grossly under publicized. Too bad -- this is a supportive resource many could benefit by. I wish I'd had this book when I first started my healing journey!

Excellent resource for upper elem. and mid level teachers.
The lessons all start with a question. Give that question to your students at the end of the day. The next day ask your students what they know or learned about the question. Then do the experiment to allow students to check the results. The explanations are in everyday language. The 180 inventions and discoveries really save you time because you don't have to look them up. You could also use one of these ideas for a unit or group project

This book is a MUST for science fairs and science projects
This book is wonderful for science challenged parents, teachers and children. This books makes science less intimidating.

A Passion for Protection
Bernie's earliest recollections of being fascinated by the sounds of nature set the stage for his discovery, in middle age, of his passion for documenting and protecting the environment. To make his avocation his vocation he had to create a whole new profession, and then sell the museums and zoos of the world on the concept -- but it is a testament to his genius and determination that he did just that.

His recordings are unequalled, and they speak loudest for his passion. However the stories here, which contrast the Rwandan jungle with his previous life, will make you understand when he says, "I feel much more comfortable and safe when I'm alone in a rainforest or a desert at night than I do when walking around the streets of Manhattan, Los Angeles or Paris in broad daylight, or enduring the pitfalls of academia or the business world."

Bernie is that rare creature, a man of genius and principle. In time he will become known as the Thoreau of his generation.

Paul Hawken is right--but how about one of the top **three**
Bernie Krause's albums have been an important part of our lives for nearly thirty years. We are so very pleased to learn that he is as facile in communicating with the written word as he is with sounds. When we were huddled in a little tent last year, 19,000 feet up Tibet's holiest mountain, we longed for something appropriate to read, while waiting for the snows to abate. Into A Wild Sanctuary would have been perfect. Now, stop reading this and go buy the book.
