The Literary Equivelant of Pixie Stix
This snappy collection of Madman guest appearances in the equally-cultish "Nexus" and "Jam" books makes a pleasant addition for fans and collectors of these respective authors and artists. As an introduction to either Madman, the Jam or the world of Nexus, it can be a little jarring, with only the basics to fill in newcomers. Still, the art is vibrantly alive and the stories zing along like a neighborhood big wheel race. It's not unusual for comics these days to have an attitude about them, but in these stories the feeling is one of pervasive whimsey. Bernie Mierault and Allred have collaborated before (and continue to do so) on the short, "Dr. Robot" and the one issue "Everyman". They share an artist's empathy and enthusiasm for their creation that leaps off the page in the back and forth collaboration of the two heroes. The universe within Mike Barron & Steve Rude's"Nexus" is already so hyper-detailed and complete, the only room left is for Allred to supply Madman with his trademark "ginchy" dialogue. But it's not such a bad thing. Bound together the stories have the effect of an exhibition of classic "Amazing Stories" pulp fiction art crossbred with the eye-popping post-modernism of Roy Lichtenstein. So, if you like what you see here kids, there's worlds of boundless artistic joys to be found in each one of these giants of modern comics own works. Check 'em out!

Enter a "New State"
My frantic and nervous lifestyle led me to search for some sort of way to relax and calm down. Unable to just relax and meditate on my own, I sought out audio tapes to assist me. I popped in the tape and layed down, ready to meditate. After quite a long lecture about his techniques, Dr. Siegel begins your meditation. His soothing voice and imagry put me in a very relaxed mode, a new state. This tape would be great for anyone who wants to mediate, but needs also some guidance.

Great Illustrations, But Not Much Story Here
Mom and Billy leave home at night in the family car, and are setting off to somewhere (left to the readers' imagination). Through beautiful illustration, you see the various interesting things that pop up on a night time drive, like city lights, a carnival, a lit up stadium, wild animals, etc. The book concludes with mom and Billy standing on a scenic overlook at sunrise, looking over a small New England-style town with, "It's going to be a beautiful day."

A book that you may, or may not read more than once, but children may find it interesting.

Introduction & Illustrations Enhance the Reading
6/3/03 The amazon editorial review listing of the celebrities , (plus the celebrities listed on the back jacket which they did not include(Wally Amos,Pat Boone,Soupy Sales, The Amazing Kreskin, Fred Rogers ,plus about 10 others (incl of Dick Martin)make it a book that many will purchase without even browsing(I borrowed it based on the well illustrated jacket)....The ordinary people give "much food for thought"(although I could not find the one written by the former mayor of Pittsburg...,many have stopped to 'smell the roses'..many have become the workholic that they felt retirement's funds and funs would rid them the addiction of...then there's Sofia Gelman(Pg 152)a retired neurologist 's whose poem begins "Don't laugh at me,I'm taking classes at the police academy,Imagine me in my 70's, Still eager to fulfill my life motto'Not to miss' ,which was the next profile after a quote from Mark Twain: "Wrinkles should merely indicate where the smiles have been".

Great Technical Analysis
Only 50% of the book is about options. The other 50% concentrates on how to use technical analysis to find winning stocks. It is probably the best book for the beginner and intermediate trader. With the Technical analysis, it can be used for both stocks and options. It belongs on every trader's shelf. The reason it didn't get a "5 Star" is that he really doesn't go into closing a position if the trade is going the wrong way. I pretty much had to learn that on my own. I have read it cover-to-cover 3 times and certain chapters at least 6 times.

Overall a decent book.
The option Advisor is a decent book on options. It gives a good market view on options trading. However the Authors' monthly newsletter The Option Advisor, has a very bad track record. The Author offers a 3 month free trial to his newletter in the back of the book - be careful puting your money into these trades. One should track the recommendations over time, to see how they do before putting money into these trades.

Whining hasn't made anyone ANY money!
I find it funny how many negative things I have been reading here and I have a few comments. First, this book is GREAT? In 4 months I made thousands of dollars by following Bernie's strategies. Second, he actually TEACHES how to do something with your money that isn't confusing, unlike many other money making strategy books. Third, he STRESSES over and over that you MUST CUT YOUR LOSSES when they hit 8% and let your winners run to overcome the deficit.
I wonder how many of these negative people that have posted angry messages here were too emotional and let their greed or fear get the better of them while making investment decisions attempting to follow Bernie's advice? I learned a long time ago that being negative and only talking about the problem and not a SOLUTION to the problem is NOT the way to live life.
Please read this book, and FOLLOW HIS RULES. It does actually work. And don't listen to Forbes, for crying out loud they have to hate anyone else that might actually compete with them and make them look bad. How many of you have made a dime off of what Forbes magazine taught you? I haven't. Read this book...it works, but ONLY if you work and FOLLOW THE RULES!

the true work of dying
This book is the best gift you can give to a family or friend who is having a death. It is not preachy or sugaring. It is full of useful and informative information. It was given to me by a friend, at the time of my inlaws dying. The entire family and friends read it.

Valuable and fascinating insights on Death & Dying
"The True Work of Dying" is a valuable book for any Hospice worker or volunteer and anyone else dealing with its subject. It is filled with helpful insights and informations. Some of the death stories shared are amazing and a helpful guide to stay open and open-minded to the many ways and possibilities of the dying process and death. Since reading the book two years ago, I have shared it several times with grateful family members of dying patients.

read britannica instead
_The Joy of Trivia_ consists of a preface, then an entire book worth of paragraph-long bits of random trivia. There is no index, so the best way to read is just to open the book at random, possibly on the john or in a similar location.

I found many trivia that were wrong, and several of dubious veracity. IF you want to amuse yourself with random facts, I suggest looking elsewhere.

If you're looking for deep plot, this is not the book
The book starts out well, the action starting on page one with the main characters, a husband and wife, finding a body behind their beach home. As the plot unfolds it looses readers, no action until the second murder that tends to seem unrealistic. The end is no particular surprise and reader goes away feeling unsatisfied. Nice book to read in a weekend, if you don't feel like getting into anything heavy.

Innocent Prey
This question goes for the reviewer above. Before I purchase this book, what is the information not included to make this book a true crime read. What is missing, how can I access true information without necessarily having to talk to the actual characters for whom this book is written after? Where is their website? I am intrigued of this info because of your review. Hope to read from you soon.

A true story crime buff

TRUE CRIME DOESNT NECESSARILY MEAN ITS TRUE!
TO PUT IT BLUNTLY THIS BOOK IS GARBAGE.WELL WRITTEN THOUGH IT IS THE AUTHOR HAS A TENDENCY TO PLAY AROUND WITH THE FACTS TO MUCH AN HE HAS A TENDENCY TO FOLLOW POLICE AND COURT INFORMATION TO CLOSELY.HE CLEARLY HAD OR DIDNT WANT ANY ACCESS TO MR.GORE OR MR.WATERFIED (THE ALLEGED CRIMINALS)AND THE BOOK SUFFERS FROM IT.THOUGH FREQUENTLY SUSPENSEFUL THE AUTHORS LACK OF TRUE KNOWLEDGE OF THE CASE OUTSIDE OF NEWSPAPER CLIPPINGS AND INACCURATE POLICE INFORMATION HURTS THE BOOK.BOTH MR.WATERFIELD AND MR.GORE ARE VERY OPEN ABOUT THERE CASE AND CRIMES AND HAVE BOTH DONE NUMEROUS INTERVIEWS AND CONTRIBUTED TO DOZENS OF WEBSITES.THE AUTHORS DECISION NOT TO APPROACH THEM MAKES THIS BOOK JUST ANOTHER PIECE OF TRUE CRIME FILLER.AS A BOOK IT IS WELL WRITTEN AS A FACTUAL ACCOUNT IT IS PURE RUBBISH.TOSS IT INTO THE TRASH ALONGSIDE MOST TRUE CRIME BOOKS
