Neglected masterpiece
Although Hayek's influence on economics and political science has been profound, his work in psychology, of which this book is the sole product, is still relatively unknown. This is unfortunate, not only because Hayek is a great psychologist, in the same league as Helmholtz, Fechner, and Freud, but also because his more influential work is often based on the conceptual framework established in The Sensory Order. I can think of several reasons for the neglect of this book. First, it is not easy to read. Despite a lucid style, the ideas contained are so complex and expressed in so compressed a form that several readings are required to fully appreciate them. Second, the ideas are so revolutionary that we still fail to grasp their implications, though even Hayek himself, it should be said, failed to address them adequately. Hebb's Organization of Behavior, the first explicit proposal of Hebbian learning and cell assemblies, and Gallistel's Organization of Action, a compilation of classic works on motor coordination, contained similar ideas, but they are nowhere as original and profound as this book.

fritz-studies - a great aventure goes on
What the authors call fritz-studies is a research project, in which this fine book is only the first step. They have also a german/english website under the same title as the book, which might be a good addition to this catalogue. Just search with google for Sondermodelle and you will find it and get further information.

Excellent Guide
I actually found this book in Greece as I was leading of tour along the path of Paul's missionary journeys. As I examined the book I was sorry that I hadn't had access to it before I left on the trip...it provided excellent biblical and cultural insight into each of the places that we visited (Thessaloniki, Philippi, Corinth, Athens, Ephesus). It is the kind of thorough guide that every busy pastor hopes to find that will make his/her work a little bit easier. It is not a lengthy book but the information is sufficient for the background one needs to learn about the places Paul (and we) traveled.

Simple retellings of Bible stories that manifest GODs love
I have had this book since I was very young. I always enjoyed being read to from it, and now I read it to my younger brother and to my catechism students. This book has beautiful illustrations, and tells a myriad of stories spanning the Old and New Testaments. The stories are short enough to hold a young child's interest, and are simple enough to be read by beginning readers. The Story of GODs love will always hold a special place in my heart and is perfect for young Christians.

Greengrocer Attempting to Psychically Edit Your Thoughts
Although Mr. Gemerchak's insight into Bataille's critical synthesis of Hegel is outstanding (the most lucid and edifying to date), his personal obsession with custard, women's shoes, and bats may be distracting (albeit entirely amusing) to the majority of readers. To the expert, however, Gemerchak's link between nocturnal, egg-based footwear and his subject serve as a reflexive articulation of desire, authenticity, subjectivity, and fetish, likening his work to those of Garcia-Marquez or St. Augustine. To be certain, this freshman endeavor places him well on the way to reaching (surpassing?) the recognition and significance of Lacan, Baudrilard, or even DiCaprio.
This reviewer's life of the mind and basting techiniques have been significantly altered by Mr. Gemerchak. One leaves his book with a strong desire to be hosed down by a fire extinguisher, blamed for unattributable sins, and left to rot in the trunk of a Buick. I highly recommend "The Sunday of the Negative" as well as his sophomore tome "Mr. Binky Gets a Bump" to anyone longing for a deeper understanding of metaphysics, self-awareness, or flan.

Excellent book with illustartion and descriptive commentary
The title of the work is "Surface Technology and Electroplating in the Electronics industry". This book covers the theory and practice of electrodeposition for devices as wide ranging as hybrid circuits, circuit board technology, superconductors, magnetic media and general consumer electronic or telecommunication applications. The work is descriptive and clear for the layman and detailed enough for the expert. Technique, methodology and clearly illustrated applications are extensively referenced. This is a good work for teaching, reference or the professional bookshelf even though the state-of-the-art is somewhat dated.

A true story of friendship
This is one of the best stories I have ever read about true friendship between teens. This is the story of 3 frinds who are not your average teens. I will warn you up front one of the teens does not make it to the end of the story due to a tragic illness. But, through all of the story you are able to see how they interact and how they closely support each other and depend on each other while in the hospital. It is well written and should be read by all in my opinion. Even rereading it 20 years later make your heat ache.

Are You a Good Swimmer?
Hayek uses flawless logic to prove that Keynesian economics, which is touted today as our own modern monetary policy, is inflationary economics. The end result of this application can only be a situation which is worse than the one it was intended to remedy. Hayek proves that individuals acting independently are unable to provide the consistent statistical information necessary on which to base an ordered economy. Hayek then explains how Keynes' pursuit of a perfect monetary policy will never be realized because artificial intervention can only produce inflationism. Hayek's focus throughout the book on the temporary fix versus long-term consequences now has me watching our present government and its monetary decisions in a new light. In 1979, Hayek showed what is happening today with perfect clarity. Every act of intervention brings about a need for more. Hence, his title "A Tiger by the Tail". Once we have grabbed a hold we cannot let go and are inevitabily dependent upon the government to bail us out and keep us afloat. If you read this book, you don't have to believe...just be a good swimmer.
