Jessie spent her girlhood being disappointed and hiding that hurt, so she is determined her Father not do the same to her young half-sister, but she is more determined NOT to marry a man just like dear old Dad. Oh, she is wildly attracted to Hatch, but she fears her life would end with another series of being second place to the business that her father build. And she is quite set that history not repeat itself, not for her little sister, nor for her in marriage.
Being rebellious against her father, she has failed to turn out to be a business person and currently is determined to become a private investigator, by helping an old lady who is a psychic and rescuing a teenage girl from a dangerous cult. Much to her surprise, Hatch shows signs of being just a shade different than daddy. Instead of patting her on the head and ignoring her new 'business', he becomes a strong ally in helping Jessie handling her father to see the younger sister does not go through the same disappointments as Jessie to he helping smooth things for "the Moms" who always use to Jessie to run interference with Vincent, and he even supports and aids her investigations.
JAK gives you her quirky dysfunctional families that seem to function, you seen in so many of her books. The relationships are wonderful, warm and humorous, and Hatch and Jessie will steal a place in your heart.
A wonderful JAK gem!!

The first chapter details basic definitions of the field. The next five chapters deals with the patient, physicans, Healthcare in general, and lastly specific telemedicine services. The authors suggest the formula for telehealth success as improved quality and access to care at a lower cost and without raising professional objestions.
I found the chapters developing the business case for Telemedicine and telehealth services most compelling. These markets are still in their infancy and are still struggling to develop their potential. The authors share with us their strategy for selling Telehealth services (page 157).
Telemedice and Telehealth, also provides a cautionary note. The authors indicate that to date they were not aware of studies demonstrating a viable telehealth model with the current legislation and reimbursement structure. Further issues such as licensure, quality assurance and backup systems remain to be clearly defined.
This book is an excellent read. Concise, articulate and timely. I would recommend this book to any one intersted in Telemedicine or Telehealth.
In this installment, Abby learns that her grandmother might have breast cancer. At a family gathering, Abby tries to reunite folks who have not seen each other in ages and acts as peacemaker. She tries to heal familial rifts. At the end of the story, she and her grandmother confront the tragic issue of breast cancer and it is to the author's credit that she does not slap on a formulaic happy ending. The grandmother's concerns about whether or not she has breast cancer remain unanswered, which is a pleasant departure from the standard. Abby and her grandmother connect and Abby learns about how she, too, can take measures to protect herself from this disease.
