Orp and the F.B.I
This book is a mystery about a person getting a hook stuck in her back. She was practicing fly fishing in the attic. There is a big lesson in this story. The lesson is: Fish outside, not inside! My favorite character is Chloe because she stayed at the hospital with Herman. People my age will like this book because it is a great mystery.

I've been recommending this book to everyone I know with a child preparing for the SAT II.

Good for teaching when to be quiet and when to be noisy
The summary inside this title states: "Constantly hushed by all the older people around her, a little girl finally goes outside and lets loose with all the noises she knows."

The pattern begins on the first page with: "SH!" says my mother. "The baby is sleeping." This continues with grandma, father, brother, sister, and others.

Suzy Kline has created an effective book for pre-school and kindergarten children to discuss appropriate places to be quiet and to be noisy. I usually read this to kindergarten students early in the school year when they begin coming to our elementary school library. The students also learn quickly from this story that S plus H makes the "sh" sound.

This book would also be an excellent resource for teaching or reinforcing onomatopoeia: those words used to express sounds.

Great for children!
I started reading Suzy Kline books when I was very young and loved her characters so much that I still read her books to this day. This book specifically focused on one of her lesser known, but more interesting, characters, Song Lee. It's a very interesting book and any child will love it!

For fans of Zep... or, just fans of wonderful writing
I started reading it last night, and read 33 chapters before having to put it down. It is excellent! Mainly because of the author's writing style. Cynical, funny, and to the point. It's the semi-autobiographical memoir of a 14 year old Led Zeppelin fan living in Glasgow, Scotland in 1972. I, for one, really like it. And when an author does a good job, I like to spread the word. So there it is!
