The BFF Sisters: Jennah's New Friends

This is one great book!
The BFF sisters are a really great bunch. My daughter loved this book. She related to Jennah and her friends right away. We cannot wait for the next book!

WHAT A FIND!
WOW!! I must say that I was very impressed with this children's book. I originally bought this book for my nine year-old daughter on a tip from a friend. However, once I began reading it, I couldn't stop. This comedic, yet touching, portrayal of a young Muslim girl's life in the US is precisely what we need in our changing world today. The language, situations, and issues which the protagonist encounters gives an inside look into a culture that is often misunderstood. I was happy to find a new kind of literature to share with my daughter. I highly recommend this book, and all the future titles in this series, to both young and old readers. What a great find!

A great book for kids
As a mother of two children I recommend this book for both Muslims and non-Muslims. The book is great for entertainment as well as learning basic knowledge about Islam and cultural diversity. It teaches essential qualities such as listening to elders and respecting others of different nationalities. I would even suggest this book as an entertaining read-aloud piece. I can't wait to buy the next book in the series.

Born to Shop London: The Bargain Hunter's Guide to Name-Brand and Designer Shopping

Born to Shop--London
London was our 5th trip with Suzy: as usual she directed us to all the right places and with her usual wit and flair, to boot. You know you have a great source when the husband of the group (who has to carry everything) says that the only guide book for the day will be by Suzy.

Suzy Gershman captures the London shopping scene in one book
The book has been and continues to be an excellent resource for shopping needs. London can be overwhelming -- after all it is the city of shopkeepers -- but following the recommendations in the book have proven successful everytime. I have sent a copy to each of my guests planning to visit London and all have been able to highlight areas of shopping to save time and get what they want. The helpful tips, shortcuts and general information about the markets is fabulous. If planning a trip to London and shopping is on your list of things to do -- don't be caught without the ulitimate shopping guide.

Don't leave home without it!
This book alone is worth a ticket to London. Whether you're a power shopper or just want to pick up a few souvenirs, Suzy Gershman has insider secrets for the perfect item at the perfect shop. And she's great fun to read (even if you're not ready to plan a trip yet.) I've used her books in 3 countries, and she's never steered me wrong. In this edition: don't miss Jo Malone, Lush, and tea at Stafford's.

How to Be Ageless: Growing Better, Not Just Older! (Loving Life Series, Bk. 1)

Growing Older with Grace
Suzy questions our obsession with youth and challenges listeners to embrace saner attitudes on aging with practical techniques and concrete strategies. She shows us that it's possible to break free of society's age-biases, to relish the gift of family and friends, and to live joyfully in the moment.

Highly Recommended!
The fact is, each day we grow one day older. How to Be Ageless helps us to do it gracefully with the inspired insight of Suzy Allegra. This book will stir your soul with its heartfelt message. Its profound encouragement and the promise of becoming the best we can be in our older years presents an awesome opportunity.

A simple and wise book--a great gift for women coming of age
I was first struck by the inviting packaging of HOW TO BE AGELESS, namely its beautiful cover. The blue color is pleasing and the artwork is stunning. The content is simply, yet wisely expressed, embracing the belief that our priorties should focus on internal beauty and not the external, that wisdom is something wonderful and earned with experience of our years on earth...but it's difficult to maintain that attitude in a society that seems to favor plastic surgery, conformity and Barbie-doll bodies. We know better, but get caught up in the hype all around us. This book gently sets us on an altered path, a better course of thinking. Most of us know that obsessing on surface appearance is superficial living and is not going to lead us to happiness, but like many important things in life, sometimes we need to hear a message one more time, perhaps in a slightly different way, for it to penetrate. Suzy Allegra does that effectively in this book, with ease, and with grace and wisdom. Her words make a lovely companion to keep within grasp, on a nightstand or endtable. I reach for it when I need to get my priorites straight. It's a wise and affirming book that would make a great gift for women turning 40, 50, 60, etc. I think I'll buy some for party favors at my next women's birthday party.

Suzy makes bargain shopping a travel adventure.
If you're a bargain hunter, Born to Shop Hong Kong is a must! Almost every one of Suzy's recommendations are stellar. She makes it easy for you to find those one of a kind treasures to bring home-at discount prices. The book groups stores in geographical areas and provides easy to follow maps so you save time. For those who get tired of shopping, she offers unique sightseeing tips such as the Opera singers at Temple market. The restaurants she recommends are frequently entertaining in themselves, such as the one with a doctor who prescribes a meal based on your health. She's a friendly, funny writer with honest reviews of merchants. Her advice on avoiding tourist traps will save you time and money. I was in Hong Kong alone but felt like I had a friend along in Suzy's book. Suzy takes you places the average tourist would never experience. My sister, a flight attendant who just moved from Hong Kong and a co-worker who leads trips to the area had not been to many spots I visited-thanks to Suzy. "Born to Shop" has specific transportation advice on reaching your destination, includes conversion charts and it's a perfect purse size with a stain resistant plastic cover! She thought of everything. I'm going to France next and you can be sure I will buy Born to Shop Paris.

A 'must have' for visiting and shopping in Hong Kong
This book was my bible for 10 days in H.K. Not only were all the shopping recommendations right on, the hotels, especially The Conrad, and resturants were all excellent recommendations. Now what Suzy needs to do is write a book for the rest of China!

The Healing Home: Creating the Perfect Place to Live With Color, Aroma, Light and Other Natural Elements

Authors: Suzy Chiazzari and Susy Chiazzari
Amazon base price: $24.95

down to earth book
I first found this book at the library and just had to buy it. I was learning about feng shui and some of the books just took the concepts way too far. This one is both philosopohical and realistic and it has great tips that help you id some nice decorating approaches. I'm so glad I bought it.

Create a Tranquil Home
This book is inspiring. The pictures are beautiful and serve as a motivation to create a haven of healing and peace within the home.

Suzi Chiazzari writes in a clear, personal style and lends credibility to how the home can influence our physical, mental and emotional well-being. The suggestions presented are practical and make sense without confusing "new age" rhetoric.

Topics presented in THE HEALING HOME include the use of color and texture, aroma, the importance of light, how decor can de-stress one's life, and bringing nature into the home.

Herbie Jones

This is a great book for young readers.
Herbie Jones is an awesome book. Herbie Jones is about a kid and how he is. He is brave because he snuck off and got a hamburger. Herbie is funny because he is trying to get on honor roll. At the beginning he got a 100 on his spelling test. Raymond bought Mrs. Pinkham a purple magic marker because he likes her as a teacher. At the end of the book Herbie's sister killed his pet spiders because she was cleaning the house. Herbie's mom got a new job. You should try reading this book.

Great book!
In the same genre as Junie B. Jones, this book is easy to read and funny. My third grader, who has a learning disability, liked it, and we have found very few books that he likes. Example: the boys in the book think that RSVP means "remove shoes very promptly," so they wonder why they're the only two who took their shoes off at a birthday party. Because it's a clever book, I don't mind listening while my son reads it aloud to me.

FUN, UNIQUE PATRIOTIC BOOK FOR LITTLE KIDS
LIFE ON A LUCKY STAR™ is one of the most unique, patriotic-natured books I've ever come across. The storyline is delightful, the illustrations are beautiful, and the packaging is deluxe. Who ever knew that Yankee Doodle Dandy® was such an adorable character? What a great buy (...)!

This book is great!
The story represents a positive influence on my early readers, ages 4 and 6. As a parent, I'm always happy to come across storybooks that tell a wonderful story with a positive message.

Poems (Library of the Liberal Arts)

Authors: Sappho and Suzy Q. Groden
Amazon base price: $4.95
Average review score:

Elegant in its simplicity
This polished translation brilliantly reflects those spare but sparkling lines from the winsome poet of a lonely isle and heart. I find it still superb after many readings. Highly recommended.

Achingly Beautiful
"To Eros: You crush me." The tenderness and splendor of Sappho's poetry has never been so lusciously rendered as in this translation. Every little word sings with love and warmth. Thank you, Willis Barnstone, for omitting the cumbersone ellipses and brackets of translations past. Now we can enjoy Sappho's passion undisturbed.
