An excellent intro for readers with some math background
This book is a welcome introduction for readers who are comfortable with basic differential equations and vector calculus. As an applied mathematician interested in learning the fundamentals of MRI, I had grown quite frustrated with the simplified literature on one hand ("MRI for technologists", "MRI for medical people", "MRI for dummies"...) and the professional literature on the other, which is directed at people already immersed in the study of MR technology. In contrast, this book is an excellent introduction to the subject for applied mathematicians (though this may not have been the intended audience), as it makes no assumptions regarding reader's science background and thus explains thoroughly all relevant E+M, physics and signal processing. But most importantly, it does so without cutting mathematical corners. This results in a far more lucid and logical exposition than books which try to protect the reader for his/her own good.

A reference and resource for mental health practitioners
Managing Managed Care II provides an easy-to-learn method for documenting and communicating the necessity, appropriateness, and course of mental health treatment for managed care review and outcomes measurement. Using the Patient Impairment Profile method, practitioners can convincingly convey a clinical rationale for treatment, efficiently track progress over time, and demonstrate favorable patient outcomes. This book is a serviceable reference and resource for mental health practitioners and for the individuals who monitor and review treatment. In a word, intense
The author does a good job of depicting a world where creatures called Brawlers exist, and a world where they fit in. The fight scenes are well done, and the characters and feel of the story are in the japanese animation style. I'm hoping the sequel will come out soon. Unique!

Ethnic Conflict
This book is a must for any student of ethnic politics combining some of the best articles in print on the subject. The reader is accessible for students at both an undergraduate and graduate level, but is written in such a fashion that anyone can follow the logic of the authors' respective arguments. Mike Brown's edited volumes are always excellent, this one is his very best.

You Cannot Go Wrong With This Anthology!!!
With stories like "Ferryman" (Eric Brown), "The White Stuff" (Peter F. Hamilton & Graham Joyce), and "A Night on Bare Mountain" (Graham Charnock), anthologies don't get any better than this. My only quibble is with the experimental narrative "Thirteen Views of a Cardboard City"(William Gibson) which rounds out the volume with a whimper, not a bang. Otherwise, this is Hugo & Nebula territory.

A Great Read!
Whether you are a nurse or simply curious about the nursing profession, this book will both entertain and inform. I first read it as a pre-nursing student, hoping to catch a glimpse of what nurses really do. I was pleasantly surprised. In fact, several years later, as an RN myself, I still sneak it off my bookshelf to re-read now and again. There are many stories from all facets of nursing subspecialties. Having worked medical surgical nursing, I can personally vouch for the accuracy of my favorite chapter, chapter six, "The Long Hallway." The stories are diverse and compelling. It's a well written book that has potential to entertain a wide audience. Medical terminology is clearly defined for those unfamiliar with it. If you are curious about what nurses really do on any given day, don't pass this one up!

a latest evolution
this book could be theoritically regarded as an evolution of reward system in HRM to develop the conception of Performance related pay to Pay for Contribution. It could make the reward system more fair, equitable, and legitimate. This is contemporary approach to appraise and rewward work labour in terms of its feasibility and acceptability.
