This book is badly written with bad photography.
A warning to players of 3D realm's latest hit "Shadow Warrior" you are better off getting cheat codes of a web site or a FAQ off a fan site because this book provides little if any in depths help. Many of the references are inaccurate. Plus the screen shot look like they were taken by a blind man. All in all, a waste of your well earned 13 bucks. Take it from me, this is not worth half of what it costs. For example, in area one, there are six secrets in which the book does not explain how to reach any in detail. Just a blant description of where it is, in which any novice would not have the slightest clue what is being talked about. I have also tried following there instructions step by step and ended up in a meaningless room instead of finding the train station. It's huge flaws like this that diminish this strategy guide from other great ones, such as Duke Nukem 3D and Doom. They have no referance to any newer versions of Shadow Warrior or any installation help. Furthermore they offer no help at all with creating or using user creating maps. With all this in mind the 13 dollars is really not worth it at all. Find another FAQ or take it up with Gamewinners.Com because the bottom line is that this book does not cut it. Need Help with Shadow Warrior, look for the unofficial or unauthorized versions. They may actually provide help you need instead of badly written help tips and such. Final review: Thumbs down! Way down to a book that may have taken an hour to write and another hour to cut and paste art class pictures. This book did not cut it...take my word for it...or dont...and waste your money.

Shadow Warrior The Complete Survival Guide
The book delivers. I don't own the book because it is a great read but because it provides solutions at essential times of need. An earlier one star review makes it out to be a bad novel. The book was wholly adequate and kudos on top, a four star. No problem trying to find secret places but then, again, most of my time was spent in the game itself. When I needed help the Survival Guide came through with flying colors. The description of the book by the authors is accurate. No complaints here and the book was a life saver when trying to find the needed solutions to progress though the rest of the game. Definately recommended for the topic it covers.

Awful
This book is horribly counterproductive. The review section isn't worth the paper it's written on, as it doesn't reflect at all the Physics C material. It appears that they just cut-and-pasted the review for the Physics GRE (given to advanced undergraduates), which is absurd. Avoid this book.

A fair review of the class.
The book provides a thorough description and explanation of all the topics covered on the AP exam. However, it could use a few more additional practice tests and problems to achieve a better sense of the test.

Excellent tests- thoroughly prepared me for the exam
helped me in my course and the test. Some of the questions were a little harder than the actual but got me prepared.

Basketball Rules in Pictures

Out of date and limited
I've found the other books in this series to be useful basic primers on the rules, with clear illustrations. This one is less-than-basic on the rules and devotes a lot of space instead to how to play the game. It tries to do two things and does neither one well.

Decent pictures but seems a bit simplistic, outdated.
As you might be able to tell from the front cover, yes, this is an fully illustrated book detailing the rules of basketbal. And while the photos do help to explain the basic rules of the game, the book is for the beginner only and should not be used as a reference for the more intermediate-advanced reader. Good for anyone new to the game and it's rules...and that's it. The feel of the book seems a tad old as well.

Models in Political Economy: A Guide to the Arguments
Published in Paperback by Lynne Rienner Publishers (1985)
Author: Michael Barratt Brown
Amazon base price: $15.95
Average review score:

Labour Slant
I was deeply disappointed with this book. It should be entitled A LABOUR SLANT on Models of Political Economy. Don't come to this book looking for a relatively impartial look at Keynesianism or Monetarism or any other model. All Monetarists have horns. If you don't mind the 'Labour Party good, everybody else immoral' slant of this book then this might be the book for you. Finally, here is the kicker. I have always voted for left wing candidates. But I didn't know that I was buying a Labour tract.

Good overview to DNA, but disappointing examples/exercises
This book starts out with some good overview chapters of Windows DNA-- relating all the various technologies (SQL Server, Visual Basic COM, MTS, ADO, ASP, and DHTML) in an easy-to-read way. It also promises to guide the reader through creating a DNA application (a simple online banking application) through examples and exercises in each chapter (This walkthrough approach was the main reason I chose this title over the Wrox book).

While the early chapters on system design and data stayed well-focused on relating each new concept to the online bank example, the remaining chapters did not. Instead, the authors presented only very basic code snippets, unrelated to the sample application, and many of which contained typos or were otherwise non-working (as of this date, the publisher's website still does not offer errata or fixed code samples for this book). For this reason, I cannot recommend this title to a beginner or intermediate programmer/analyst. Since the content is focused towards these groups, advanced programmers will likely pass up this book in favor of the Wrox title. I sure wish I had!

Munich Map is so-so
I travel to Munich and a few other European capitals a few times a year -- I recently bought a bunch of the Streetwise Maps. The Munich one is rather weak -- it contains just the city center and leaves one in the dark about the suberbs, airport, and surrounding towns. Also it fails to include much the business areas and Olympic Stadium.

The small U-bahn and S-bahn map is also cropped in a way that excludes many important places, this map would be good only for the day tourist to the city center.

You can do better with a free map!
It's true that I could have done worse, which is why this doesn't get only one star. I did manage to get around the city with this map in my pocket (though I had another map for more detailed reference).

HOWEVER, one piece of misinformation really cost me. They have the Fakultni Poliklinka labeled as "English Speaking Hospital for Foreigners". I had a medical problem that needed attention. When I went there, I did manage to find someone who spoke English, but it definitely wasn't a hospital for foreigners. It got worse. This woman was able to make a map to show me where the surgery building was. When I got there, no one spoke English or offered to help me find someone who could. In fact, I had a door closed on me as I was trying to find help. Some "foreigners'" hospital! Fortunately, it was just for a check-up, not a serious condition.

Prague is a VERY difficult city to navigate in... if you think you can get around with just a map like Streetwise Prague, you're mistaken. If you're staying in a hostel, look for a map in the city somewhere; if in a hotel, get a detailed map from the lobby. Don't rely on Streetwise Prague, as quick-reference maps like this aren't that useful in a crowded city designed over the course of 10 centuries.

Be All That You Can Be: 12 Sermons on Developing God Given Potential

Pre-written Sermons?
Ok first we have George W Bush trying to become president and now this! I need oxygen, this is just too much stress for my poor heart. Let me see if I get this right...the book has detailed (fine ones at that) sermons on Gods Gifts to each of us...and this was written in the original intent that preachers and pastors would use this sermon...the ironies of it all. Forgive me if I am wrong but I thought that pastors spoke with the leading of the Holy Spirit...does not Jesus say not to worry about what to say because the Spirit will talk through you. Therefore it is silly to have a book about pre-written sermons. That is like borrowing the Smiths answering machine to use at the Martin's home. And the kicker...the sermons are all about Gods Gifts....apparently if a preacher buys this book, he doesnt have the gift to teach!
