Wonderful simple projects and coloring for ages 3 to 7
This is a sweet coloring book type of activity book for pre-school and early elementary. It included a Bible themed ABC section to color, as well as numbers, colors, and basic shapes. The last part of the book is filled with easy projects to color and cut out for holidays. Most pages have Bible references too.

Deep insights from one of the greatest mystics
If you are not satisfied with superficial and shallow interpretations of the Scripture that we hear a lot in our days, this book is certainly for you. It explains the book of John from a metaphysical point of view. The idea is that the Bible is a deeply symbolic book, which uses people, places and events as symbols of certain stages of our inner development. The Bible was written not about people who died many centuries ago - it is written about us and our experiences in the process of spiritual evolution and an inner unfoldment.

You will find this book helpful in many ways, especially if you are looking not only for an intellectual understanding, but its practical application. It will lead you to the further realization of your spiritual identity, with the fullness of power of glory and power that follows. And this will be a true "new birth"!

To all what I said I need to add that I translated this book into the Russian language and published it on the web.

A beautifully illustrated children¿s book!
Richly satisfying artwork, with text that rhymes. Out of a large basket of small books, our kids choose "Noah's Ark" by Amy Flynn & Linda Hayward to be read time and time again. A classic "chunky book".

The Doctrine of Salvation Clearly Illustrated
The truth of the Gospel and tenets of Biblical Christianity illustrated as I've never seen written nor heard preached in my lifetime.

The author's concern for the state of men's eternal souls is palpable.

Sound, Biblical exposition. Solid spiritual meat to satisfy the hungry seekers soul. A bright light under which to "Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith;..." (2 Corinthians 13:5)

Read the chapter entitled "Few Saved" and judge if you are one of the "few" who's found the narrow way.

Read the chapter on the Holy Ghost, and the absolute necessity of receiving Him so that we are empowered to walk in the Spirit as the Word commands.

It's time we cast off preconceived ideas and denominational doctrines that do not line up with the whole Word of God. We need to be healed of our spiritual blindness and self-righteousness. May the Lord grant all who read this book "eyes to see and ears to hear". Your soul depends upon it!

I could feel God's presence when I read these daily.
In this book, I read about the life-changing journeys of 12 biblical characters to learn how they met the Lord, and how I can do the same. I could really feel the presence of God as I read every daily devotional, I often caught myself reading the next few days devotions, just so I could continue in my devotion time with God.

The Pentateuch (Interpreting Biblical Texts Series)
Published in Paperback by Abingdon Press (November, 1996)
Authors: Terence E. Fretheim, Gene M. Tucker, and Charles Cousar
Amazon base price: $14.70
List price: $21.00 (that's 30% off!)

Excellent introduction
This volume is an excellent thematic/theological introduction to the Torah. Historical-critical issues, while assumed, are not a major focus of this book, and are addressed specifically only insofar as they are necessary for a discussion that is largely thematic and theological. Fretheim offers a solid proposal for reading the Torah as a unity within the framework of several governing themes, viz., promise, creation, et. al. His insights along the way are fresh and inspiring in a field that can all too often digress into technical concerns alone. The strength of this book lies in its articulation of major theological themes that govern the entire narrative of the Torah, and in its subsequent proposals for reading the individual books with these themes in mind. Very highly recommended for anyone engaged in this field of study at any level.

Try it.
I enjoyed this book. It's full of good stuff - as you would expect proverbs and what may be more accurately termed aphorisms - which relate universal truths. You don't have to be a Christian or even religious to get something out of "Proverbs".

I found it best to dip in and out of "Proverbs" rather than attempt it in one go. Many of the individual proverbs deserve some time for considered thought. Also, at times the proverbs are very repetitive (for example "spare the rod and spoil the child" crops up in multiple versions) - this could be a distraction if you're trying to get through them all at one sitting.

Several things struck me about this book. Firstly "Proverbs" felt very conservative in tone - one is told repeatedly to follow your father's advice without question (...).

Know thy place, in other words. They are also very masculine, which no doubt will irritate some female readers (Proverb 31 in particular lays down the duties of a good wife). Yet perhaps one should take an understanding view of this given the age of the book.

Modern readers may have problems reconciling the injunction that the search for knowledge and understanding is good. (...) This seemed to me to reflect the problem (addressed more directly in "The Book of Job") that knowledge and understanding can only operate within the limits imposed by God. Beyond that, do not stray. So, what appears unjust and inexplicable is best left as such, as it will make sense to God. This is the "leap of faith" which sceptics (like myself) cannot manage.

"Proverbs" also assures us that the wicked get their comeuppance - yet is this really the case? Or does it mean in the next world - again faith is needed? (...)
