Great beauty
What an exquisite book! Not only is it an informative and interesting read, but it made me want to move to Taos and take up oil painting! In fact, I'm signing up for painting classes this week! The plates are magnificent, and the subject matter, Taos, and Taos Pueblo Indians, are filled with beauty and dignity from a time gone by. Highly recommended for all lovers of the Southwest, native cultures, and landscape and oil paintings.

Lees paints portrait of legendary pianist
This updated version of the great jazz pianist is an excellent work by Mr. Lees. Few other writers could do justice to this project. Gene Lees has known most of the legends of jazz and counts many as personal friends. Only someone like Lees could have done such an extensive piece on this celebrated artist. The story of Oscar Peterson and his impact on modern jazz is worthy of 5 stars. Highly recommended for students of jazz history and those many fans that have collected OP's recordings for decades. A marvelous effort by the author.

Oscar The Orphaned Oyster
This book is a must for children. Through reading it each child will see a bit of themself. They will learn a good lesson that they can carry on with them into their adult life. I found the sketches to be very good and each character had it's own personality. I have read this book to my children and feel very confident that anyone who reads it will walk away with a smile on their face and some peace in their heart.

A beautiful tale for everyone
This beautiful story about a little bird and a kind golden statue who wants to help the poor will go straight to your heart. Though written for children, the lyrical, witty prose of Oscar Wilde and the book's message of love and charity can also be enjoyed by adults. I read this book to my little brother and my mother and I had them both crying at the end. It makes a wonderful bedtime story and also a wonderful introduction to classic literature.

A compelling tribute to his life and works
Oscar Wilde is considered a notable writer, but died in poverty in exile in Paris a hundred years ago. Oscar Wilde: A Life In Quotes is a compelling tribute to his life and works as it uses his own writings to examine his sentiments and struggles, adding the author's illustrations and notes to complete a lively, well-rounded presentation.
