The Enneagram for Managers: Nine Different Perspectives on Managing People

Clearly written and thoroughly fascinating!
This is really a great introduction to the enneagram for everyone, not just business people. One of the interesting things about the book is that it is an original - perhaps the first - Dutch publication on the subject, in which the author speaks from his experience of the enneagram in practice within a European context. The book begins with an introduction to the various types, and although my daily life takes place in a different environment, the language of the business world seems ideally suited to discussion of this subject, with its many points of view and consequences. The types seem to come to life through the description of their roles within offices and companies. The second section of the book satisfies an awakening curiosity by providing the answers to all sorts of questions about the enneagram, helping you to delve deeper into the subject. What I really appreciate about this book is how the author handles the material with. Quite a different story from recent lightweight publications that smack of superficiality, where the subject is presented as a kind of entertainment that goes little further than loosely pigeon-holing yourself - and others - as one type or another, based on certain kinds of behavior; interesting only until the next typology comes along. The fascination of the enneagram, on the contrary, lies in its focus on human motivating drives and its function as a wonderful tool for better understanding of ourselves. Not that you have to become deadly serious about it, and there is never any question of that in this book. It is written with genuine fascination for what is beneath the surface. And because the enneagram tells us such interesting things about ourselves and our nearest and dearest, that fascination is contagious. So there's a good chance that you'll find yourself attracted to some of the other books described in the descriptive bibliography at the end.

If you have a Theater degree from any American college in the last decade, then you already own this book. This is the definitive text on Theater History. Brockett is the authority. No other comprehensive book on "general" theater history comes close. If you want the book that is on every theater historian's shelf, referenced in every Theater thesis or dissertation, and the text for every Theater History course in the nation, then order this.

Introduction to Oskaras Milaðius
Fourteen Poems is an excellent introduction to the poetry of Oskar Milosz, aka Oskaras MilaĆ°ius. Let it serve as a springboard for the novice to delve deeper into the fantastic mind of our century's least known prophet. Learning the language of symbols, MilaĆ°ius brought back to humanity knowledge of the universe. His humble life bears testimony to his sincerity: fighting the good fight of the underdog, in a purely conscious manner.

Excellent.
This brings to a new light the last 2000 years of history and how the masses have been manipulated by religion, with alternative motives. This provides a great case that Jesus's message has been miscommunicated since his death. During my life I have always questioned much of what I had learnt and read about Jesus and Religion. This pulls together some of my thoughts as well as, offers some good explaination for other ideas and inconsistancy. It just makes a lot of sense.

A Wilde Life
This book is a beautifully written, purple-prosed account of Oscar Wilde's life from the height of his fame as an aesthete to his tragic death in a seedy Paris hotel. Reilly has succeeded in capturing the style of Wilde in his speaking and in the book's descriptive passages, and his writing gives life to people like Constance (Wilde's wife), Robbie Ross, and Bosie, and their lives seperate from Oscar are shown in interesting detail. Each character is given real depth and motivation. I normally do not like "Fictionalized Biographies," but this one is moving and well-written.

An essential guidebook for the recreational golfer!
IM a newcomer to the world of golf and this book has made the road that much easier! Everything is covered from pre-swing routine to some general info on troublesome lies! This is not just raw info but it also provides you with info on how to practice! This book will work wonders for 100% of recreational golfers! The book is great but it must be coupled with instruction to reap the full benefits! IM fortunate in this aspect as my instructor is James Callahan who was the PGA technical advisor for this book!

Tales you Never Forget
The Duckworth publication has a few nice, elaborate, and elegant line drawings (and 3 color plates) by Phillipe Julian.

The complete collection of his fairy tales is a treasure. Children should know the Nightingale and the Rose and the Selfish Giant just as they know Cinderella and Snow White. These are tragic tales, but so beautifully told.

Atheists who want their kids to be the same might not want them to see these stories, as Wilde writes of heaven and Jesus Christ. But that would be a disservice to the child... this is great literature.

A Must Have
This is must have book for anyone who enjoys architecture. It contains projects that inspire the imagination through magnificent design and depiction. The projects are represented through photos of hard drawings, sketches, wonderful models, and the constructed outcome. What drew my attention to this book the first time I flipped through its pages was how the architect plays with angles, curves, and materials. As an Architectureal Graduate Student I highly recommend adding this book to your personal library.
