A must for lovers of Oscar and great literature
Oscar Wilde is my favorite author and in my opinion one of the greatest writers to have ever lived. His magnificent stories can make you laugh out loud but they can also move you to tears. No library is complete without the writings of Oscar Wilde. And I highly recommend this book and anything else by Oscar Wilde.

Oscar Wilde complete shorter fiction contains all of Oscar Wildes fairy tales. And it also contains his short stories and some poems.

The fairy tales collected in this volume are "The Nightingale and The Rose" and "The Selfish Giant" and "The Happy Prince".The aforementioned tales happen to be my absolute favorites. The are among the most beautiful stories I have ever read and they will truly touch your heart.Other fairy tales in this book are "The Devoted Friend" and "The Remarkable Rocket".

The short stories in this collection include" Lord Arthur Savile`s Crime "and "The Sphinx Without a Secret".And also "The Canterville Ghost" and "The Model Millionaire"."The Canterville Ghost" is absolutely hilarious and yet at the same time very touching.

Other stories contained in this book are "The Young King" "The Birthday Of Infanta" and "The Fisherman and his Soul "and also "The Star Child"."The Birthday Of Infanta" will truly break your heart and "The Fisherman and his Soul" is also a very touching story.

The poems in this book include The Artist, The Doer of Good,The Disciple, "The Master" and "The House Of Judgement" and "The Teacher of Wisdom".

I highly recommend this book and if you haven`t read any of these stories treat yourself to this book you won`t be sorry.

New Paradigm For Evangelism
This book is helping change our church and the way we do outreach and evangelism. The author's premise is that we cannot reach the world for Christ if we are not reaching our families, friends or inner-circles first. If there are any broken relationships or "ruptured relationships" in a christian's life, then we are not able to go and share the gospel message honestly with anyone. It is a powerful book that is very blunt and sometimes slaps you in the face with the honesty and insight of the author.

oscar micheaux's finest book
Oscar Micheaux wrote seven novels. "The Conquest" was his first novel, and his best. If you can only purchase one book BY Oscar Micheaux, this is the best.
Prof. Jayna Brown's introduction is outstanding. Her introduction is tough but fair. The introduction places Oscar Micheaux in his historical context, as a conservative Booker T. Washington follower.
This is the first reprint of "The Conquest" that is not a facsimile copy of the original typeset edition from 1913. As a result, the lettering, font and artwork in the book are modern and elegant.
The book itself is autobiographical. But the book is about more than the struggle of one African-American. The book is also about a whole variety of topics: homesteading, railroading, rural America, and the urban vs. rural divide.
I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in homesteading, railroading, farming,or American history. Micheaux was one of a kind. The same thing that was said about writer George Schuyler could also be said about Oscar Micheaux:
"He woke up every morning to see which way the world was turning, and he took off in the opposite direction. He loved playing the role of the maverick."

The materiality of ideas
The organization of this book, chapters arranged by materials and technologies and projects described without established typological or functional pattern, focus on the work of Richter and Dahl-Rocha from the emphasis it is based on: the materiality of architecture and the nature of construction as the deep truth of built things. This topic is presented along a superb series of projects, cleearly conceived and cleanly developed, and with documents that include inciting conceptual sketches, precise photographies and revealing working drawings. The texts by Liernur and Gubler included in the book help to locate its content within the disciplinary generalities supporting it and the cultural specificities of this partnership. The brief project descriptions describe them with precission, without interfering with the documentation, but guiding the complete reading of the work.

Niemeyer looks back
Niemeyer looks back in a non-linear fashion at his life, which spans most of the 20th century. He talks about his friendships with presidents, musicians, radicals, architects and drunkards, stressing the things that made them most human. A good read, not only for architecture fans but for anyone who is interested in Brazil. The translator includes detailed footnotes explaining the names, places and buildings. I found it surprising to find out what a Bohemian Niemeyer is and the delight he has in telling stories of adventures with his pals in Brazilian brothels. He mentions Henry Miller as one of his favorite writers and at times the influence is evident (although Niemeyer is too classy to go into sordid detail). A poignant read by an atheist who knows the end is near and is admitedly afraid of death, who values family and friendship above art.

Ballad of Reading Gaol and De Profundis
This edition contains the two best pieces of Wilde's writing. The poem "Ballad" is strong in its sense of poetry and imagery without being sing-songy. De Profundis, while a little difficult to wade through at certain points, simply captures many of life's truths and sets them down in the written word, to be studied, remembered and savored all at once.

Undisguised poetic thoughts about Gay life
This book is a refreshing look at contemporary Gay life that is not clouded by "political correctness" or special interests. It is simply an honest celebration of the joy that can be felt by the Gay or Lesbian through genuinely living life, as well as a sharing of the pain that can arise from troubled or failed relationships.

Its strength is in its unpolished honesty; refreshing for those who are tired of being told how Gay and Lesbian life should be lived. Deep Feelings simply reflects how our lives are lived, and provides a wonderful jumping point for entering a reflection on the reality of one's own life.

The Sociology of Architecture at its Finest
I used this book as my "bible" when writing my undergrduate honors thesis. The theories Newman sets forth in this book are genius and timeless. IF you're interested in public housing and the effects of the architecture on its inhabitants PLEASE do yourself a favor and get a copy of this wonderful book. Every architect and planner should read this book regardless of what they design as these guidelines will improve any building built or any city planned.

Sharp, wise and practical
I've used this book both as a manager, working with individuals and my work team, and also as a consultant and facilitator working with client groups. It is a fantastic resource for the following reasons: 1. it has a very sound foundational model that is built on trust, organisational learning principles and action research; 2. it has an excellent blend of theory and practice, with heaps of case studies, anecdotes and wisdom acquired through experience; 3. it has a lot of really useful tools, reasources, survey instruments and so on - excellent stuff that helps you apply the ideas easily and straight away; 4. it has a lot of humanity, compassion and profound thought about what it means to be an individual working in a complex, dynamic organisation of today; 5. the ideas in it are built on values and ethics, an unusual, but welcome, approach to me; 6. what it advocates is practical, achieveable and realistic - it's not touchy-feely waffle, it is sound advice and tested approaches. Good on you cobbers!
