Fox's Mom gave Fox one of those Looks...
That basically sums up all these books. They are absolute classics! I love everything about every single one of these books- I read them growing up and nearly cried as a teenager when they removed them from my local library. No matter what age you are you can enjoy these fantastic books. James Marshall has turned out nothing but classic, wonderful and fun books. If you've never read them, you're missing out on your childhood, and that goes for his George and Martha books too! Get one TODAY!

Terry Gross is the best!
I came across National Public Radio many years ago just tooling around the FM dial. I found "Fresh Air with Terry Gross" and was hooked by the interview at the time, with Clint Eastwood. The questions were ones I would want to ask him. I was intrigued by this voice I have never heard before on radio, sophisticated, smart, smooth, curious, and down to earth. No commercial radio hype, none of the exaggeration for a big news story, not a celebrity exclusive. I've since heard this audio compilation of the the comedians interviewed on "Fresh Air laughs" and loved it. This isn't just a side splitting laugh a minute tape, it also brings you a realization that these are real people. The Bill Murray interview is so unlike his performer identity we all know that you have to listen to it carefully, because Terry brings out his humanity with her interview style. We get to listen to conversation that has substance and not just style. This is a tape you can sink your teeth into, it's that thick.

Beautiful story, beautiful book
This book is a beautifully written and illustrated story of a young girl who appreciates the simple and wondrous small thing in life -- a feather, etc.
It allows children to see that the bigger picture in life is often in the smaller things.

A Book About Everyday People Who Say "Yes" At the Right Time
The stories are not written in a dramatic style; they are about real people living their lives; stumbling along while allowing Spirit to have a small influence with magnificent results.

Expecting more intense miracles, I was at first underwhelmed by the book. However, noticing that the stories lingered with me for the next week, I realized Marcia Z.Nelson is a master at reporting the facts, just the facts, leaving the rest to the reader. It works.

I use this book as a mediation book in the morning. It helps me get outside of "self" and perhaps even allows me to become a little more willing to have God in my daily decisions. A good read, this one.

A scholarly and invaluable contribution
Translated from French into English by Phyllis Aronoff and Howard Scott, Gilles Havard's The Great Peace Of Montreal Of 1701: French-Native Diplomacy In The Seventeenth Century focuses on how the persistent, bloody, and often desolating wars between the French and their Native allies on the one side, and the Iroquois confederacy on the other was brought to a conclusion in the summer of 1701. 1,300 represents of forty First Nations (which ranged from the Maritimes to the Great Lakes and from James Bay to southern Illinois) met with the French at Montreal and, after a month-long ceremony, signed "The Great Peace of Montreal" which ended the Iroquois wars. The treaty, Gilles Havard persuasively argues, was the culmination of the French colonial strategy of native alliances and adaptation to Native political customs. The treaty process illustrates the extend of cultural interchange between the French and their Native allies and the crucial role the Native Americans would later play in the French conflicts with the Iroquois and the British. The Great Peace Of Montreal Of 1701 is a scholarly and invaluable contribution to both Canadian history and Native American studies.
