Eat like Elvis!
It's probably not the best idea to eat like Elvis all the time, but nothing beats his recipes for peanut butter and banana
sandwiches or fried okra. Elvis sure loved his fried foods. Learn how to make Southern cuisine and mouth-watering desserts fit
for dinner at your own Graceland, but don't over do it. After all, Elvis didn't end up a skinny-minny from eating all that fried
chicken cooked in pancake batter. (...)

Mother in Law Loved it!
My mother in law is an Elvis fanatic, so I thought this would be cute to add to her Elvis things. Since recipes come from his cook and plenty of pictures alot have never seen. She actually uses the recipes too. She loves it.

This book is pure splendor !
I adored this book ! The characters were real and honest, and I enjoyed reading along as they developed. My sympathy with both male leads was so strong, I had a hard time deciding who Alana should be with in the end. This is one of those rare books, that once read, changes your heart. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Tear Jerker for sure!
I couldn't put this book down. The amount of love that comes across in this book will fill you for weeks. The love triangle between the scottish boy she grew up with and the englishman she meets provides for some gut wrenching emotion. Saying good-bye to her home in the glen left me bawling. This is definately a keeper and one I'm glad I stumbled upon. Block yourself off when you read this book as you won't want to put it down. Remember the kleenex.

Foghorn Outdoors: The Outdoor Getaway Guide For Southern CA

An awesome guide written with style and humor! Fabulous!
These two (Julie Sheer and Steve Hymon) know their stuff! Reading this book is like taking a fun romp through the best that Southern California has to offer. Written with a wicked sense of humor, with plenty of great personal anecdotes, this book will make you want to strap on the hiking boots asap and hit the trails. We particularly enjoyed the input from their numerous cohorts, like the boogeyboarding Canuck! If for no other reason, buy this book for the to-die-for chili recipe offered up on page 267.

Best guide to Southern California outdoors travel I've seen.
Both thorough and well written, you can't go wrong with this one

Inner-City Teen Ointment
I'm a teacher at a Chicago alternative high-school for kickouts and dropouts. I haven't used this book of stories by teens for teens about overcomeing hardships to teach an entire unit yet, but I keep buying more for my classroom library as more and more students ask if they can borrow copies of it. I've also loaned copies to our Department of Children and Family Services mentor as well as to our counselor.

Why? Students relate to the stories. I understood that students would occassionally enjoy stories they can relate to, but I underestimated how much they'd enjoy it. In fact, I'm beginning to sense that enjoying the book may not be the reason they want it; they may need to hear stories like this.

For this reason, it's a good text for inner-city teens, especially those who've undergone and continue to survive through the kind of hardships that go along with various kinds of stigmata and deprivation. And for the same reason, it's an equally good choice for teachers as it is for those non-teachers who personally know someone who might benefit from such a collection of stories. Julie Landsman continues to put together good, necessary work.

A Great look into the Troubles Teens face.
A Interesting look into the troubles teenagers go through from Family problems to Homophobia, writings by actual teenagers. A Great book for teenagers and Parents of teenagers. A Must Have!

You'll read it over many times!

Hawaii With Kids -- Don't Leave Home Without This Book
Copious notes on what activities and attractions are available and of interest to kids and other family members. Only shortcoming is minimal references to restaurants and accommodations. Author selects top 10 day trip ideas for each island and they were dead on for our family of five.

Easy to read, up-to-date information and great suggestions!
It is very easy to find age appropriate activities for your children. The book is arranged in an easy to follow format which allows you to find special stops coming up as you drive. A great quick reference that we used many times a day while vacationing on Oahu.

Great stories!
I've lived in South Carolina most of my life and never heard many of these stories. I love 'Sunset Lodge' and 'Murder at Cape Romain'! Great accompanying photos and sketches.

Great collection of ghost tales from the Carolinas
My favorite stories were Body in a Barrel, Presence at Hampton Plantation, and the Keeper's Daughter. The author did a fine job of including details regarding her investigations--right down to microfilm, newspaper clippings, parapsycologists, professional ghost hunters, detectives, eyewitness sightings, etc. My twelve year old son even loved it. He showed it to his teacher and she read some of the stories to the class!

So down to earth and uplifting!!!! Makes for great reading.
I love books that speak to a part of all of us. I think this book does just that. Julie Alexander has put on paper so many things we all deal with daily with friends, children, family, jobs and speaks to it in a humorous way as well as a touching way. I enjoyed the book so much and hope to see more from her!!

A "must read" book for daily doses of inspiration and humor!
GREAT DAYS gives inspriation and humor through personal stories and wisdom from its author and from quotes of well-known and ordinary people. Each reading begins with a quote, followed by a story or bit of wisdom to elaborate the point....nothing scholarly or deep--just good pracitcal "boosts" for the mind and the soul. The author draws upon her years of experience as a public school teacher, public speaker, wife, mother, daughter, and friend to make this book very readable and appealing. GREAT DAYS is a part of our high school's collection in the library, and it ranks as a favorite among our students and faculty.

Every child should own this book!
My kids have asked me to read this book to them over and over again. It is exciting, mysterious, and fun! I even bought copies for all my nieces and nephews!

Great book to use with young children at Halloween
I read this book to my two young sons and they really enjoyed the suspense and humor. I was relieved to find a book on Halloween that didn't frighten them, but let them enjoy the holiday, instead. The author seemed to know just what buttons to push to keep a four and five year old on the edge of their seats. They've already requested me to read it three times since the first reading and I have a feeling it will stay on our 'favorite shelf'for a good long while.
