Quantum Leap has been one of my favorites TV shows ever. Altough in Mexico it wasn't released completely, I even get cable to have the chance to see it in it's "real" format.

A to Z, is an excelent choice for those of us who really want to be in control of everything of the show. It includes everthing you need to know about every chapter. This book is "a sure thing". Trust me.

This book is the ideal book for every Quantum Leap fan, young and old, from new fans to true Leapers. As a (self-proclaimed) expert on the show, I found I still learned a thing or two from this book. Home sweet home: a place of love, refuge, and memories. For Helen Martin's it was also her life, her work and her Mecca. In the play "The Road to Mecca" Athol Fugard explores the question: Should we leave our Mecca, our spiritual fountainhead, when we can no longer take care of ourselves? The conflict between the three strong willed characters Helen, Elsa and Pastor Marius explores the question in the light of different religions, cultures, genders, ages and environments. Fugard said the play was suggested by the life and work of Helen Martins of New Bathesda, South Africa. The real Helen from age 50 to 75 transformed her house into a personal universe that enters the realm of archetype, symbol and metaphor. The house, furniture, windows and walls became a kaleidoscope of colored glass. In her garden she constructed over 200 figures: owls, Biblical figures, Buddhas, and ancient gods and goddesses. One South African scholar described her work as one of the most stirring experiences of his life and another called her one of South Africa's artistic geniuses. Fugard in his play shows Helen's creations as a glorious, makeshift oasis of creativity and life force and Elsa, his character, sees Helen as an example of freedom and transcendence. One powerful scene is when Helen, seated in her Mecca with dozens of candles playing off glittered walls and mirrors, tells Pastor Marius "I can't reduce my world to a few ornaments in a small room in an old-age home." The effect is stunning. The play is thought provoking and gives few answers. Helen is alive when it ends. Sadly, in 1975, the real Helen committed suicide. She drank caustic soda and died after three days I solitary agony. Her will included complex instructions listing in detail the ritual disposal of each of her sculptures. But today her home, known as "The Owl House" has been proclaimed a national monument and is a mecca for artists and tourists.

A reclusive elderly widow (based on the late Helen Martins, whose South African home is now a museum) has created her own "Mecca" by decorating the inside of her home with candles and mirrors and by surrounding the house with an assortment of personally-sculpted mermaids, wisemen, peacocks and pyramids. Although her neighbors view Miss Helen as a crazy old woman, she has made friends with Elsa Barlow, a young teacher who has returned for a surprise visit. On that same day, clergyman Marius Byleveld has come to help Helen apply to a nursing home. Marius is fond of Helen and fears for her safety. Elsa is in opposition to a move as it would take Helen away from her art.

I was originally concerned that a drama focusing on an old woman's artwork would not translate well to a listening experience. How could I care as deeply about Miss Helen if I was not able to see the oddball sculptures she had created? Surely the vision of "a city of light and color more splendid than anything I had ever imagined" could not be adequately transmitted through the speakers of my tape player. I need not have worried. One of my favorite parts of the entirely wonderful listen remains the moment when Helen lights her room with candles -- music comes up and there is absolutely no problem seeing a room aglow in a growing light of imagination and art. Adding to the experience is a superb cast performing a well-written examination of what it means to be an artist, what it means to be older, and what it means to be shunned. Fabulous!

Excellent recording quality, an interesting listen.

Julie Aigner-Clark is a genius! Her inventive products, exceptionally creative, are designed to entertain children while they learn. "See and Spy Counting," is no exception. With an imaginative approach, this nifty little board book teaches numbers and counting through "seeing and spying" an object, and counting "how many" of those items appear in the picture. Each page features a different animal in an appropriate setting, such as a COW on a farm, and the text reads, "How many BARNS do you see? = 1. How many EARS does the cow have? = 2." and so forth.

This book counts from one to five, seven separate times; aptly applying repetition to reinforce learning. The colorful images are simply illustrated, and highly contrasted to the background, creating emphasis to stimulate babies interest, while providing preschoolers with supplementary lessons on colors, animals and everyday objects such as fish, flowers, and eyes. Children and parents alike will enjoy this clever teaching tool! Birth and up.

This is a great book for young readers. I bought this for my two year old and she loves it. There were simple questions that challenged my daughter to really look at all the bright pictures. This book is kind of like the "I Spy" books, but is made for much younger children.

THis is a cute book. It has some of the favorite characters from the baby einstein series in it. What I liked best was the bright vibrant colors in the book. My son enjoyed looking at all the pictures. It is a very nice book. If your child loves the baby einstein products they will love this

A great book with suprising stories from the best country singers. It is a great book, very inspirational stories just one problem, wish they had more stories because they run out quickly, and your left wanting more.

What a great job Julie Clay did writing this touching book. Even though the book is about "Stars" you can relate to their stories of childhood days. The way Julie tells their stories, you can picture them in your mind like you are right there. The illustrations in the book are wonderful. I hope Julie will do another one of these type books in the near future.

What a joy to have this collection in our home! We promote reading with all of our three children although it is sometimes hard to find material that they will all enjoy. This is it. The Stars That Shine is a beautifully written and illustrated collection of true stories retold to us in an eloquent fashion. From Bugger Red to little Mae, these stories will warm your heart and remind you both of your childhood memories and of the importance in creating positive memories for your own children. It's a 'must have' addition to any family library.

We have throughly enjoyed this book. There are many recipes that are fast and delicious. Try the Pad Thai, one of our favorites.

Julie's books are so-user friendly, you'll find favorites (as I did) that you'll want to make over again. The soup recipes work especially well..!

My husband and I recently made a trip out west and used this book as our guide to follow the Oregon Trail. It was excellent! Her directions were right on the money and the book was easy to read and follow. She breaks the trip down to a day by day driving guide which was great so we knew how much time to plan. I would encourage visiting the 'out of way' options she offers. She also offers several driving options depending on your time allowance. A must have for an Oregon Trail trip!

Julie's book is very useful in traveling the Lewis and Clark Trail. Highly informative and illustrated, it includes specific as well as local information about the various sites included in the book. Well worth having and using.

A trip to the Grand Tetons this year was greatly enhanced by this book, which I came upon with a search on Amazon.com. We used it to plan a car trip from Portland and we followed the Oregon Trail home from southern Wyoming. The maps were wonderful and the information accurate. We even golfed 9 holes at the Soda Springs municipal golf course to see the swales on the 8th hole, in addition to many other stops of intetest!

OK. Where was this book when I was looking for my first job? It's practical, lively, and filled with helpful advice. I'd recommend it to any job-seeker!

This book is a tool for job and career success. It is a classroom textbook or can be used alone as other books published in a self-help format. For the person that is willing to put the time into doing the exercises the rewards are great. This is especially true for those still in school/college without a lot of work experience.

The review that was placed with this book title is judging the book not as a text book that is part of a classroom setting. I am sure that any text book would get a poor review when quick/easy answers are wanted. But when true knowledge and a sure path is wanted, this textbook has more depth than a 50 page quick fix.

We found this book loaded with great tax savings tips. Especially important are discussions of tax-savvy investments, and how to minimize your taxes looking ahead to next year.
