i loved this one!!
i have yet to read the 3rd (i may have read them out of order) in this series, but out of the 2 i have read, this is my favorite! i love the realtionship between the child and her father. maybe im a sucker for single parents raising perfect kids!! ::smile

Charmed by this witchly tale!
In this her third book in the Donovan series, author Nora Roberts, has provided her readers with one of her most endearing characters, Anastsia Donovan. Cousin to Morgana and Sebastian featured in the first two titles of this series, Captivated(Morgana) and Entranced (Sebastian), Anastasia is the cousin blessed with the powers of healing.

When a new neighbor, Boone Sawyer, moves next doot to her with his young motherless daughter, Anastsia proves not only to be a good neighbor but wins the hearts of both Boone and his daughter. As time goes on Boone is drawn more and more into Anastasia's spell and begins to fall in love with her. Ana, though, worries how she will ever tell him the truth about herself and her family.

This is a fast and enjoyable read. By far my favorite title from the Donovan series so far. And if one has enjoyed this trilogy, now they can coninue to read about another Donovan cousin in a fourth title, the recently written and published book, Enchanted.

A Spectacular Book!
I loved the way this book promoted and didn't down cast Wiccans (witches) She pictured them as normal people with normal lives. The story line and way the characters interact with each other was so believeable. I felt like I could actually see them and the story panning out in my mind. It was wonderful finding an author who can do this and still come out with a story that grabs and holds your attention.

Synopsis
WHY DID SHE FIND IT SO HARD TO LEAVE WHOMING? Family obligations had led Samantha Evans to the land of windswept plains and towering mountains. But she had every intention of returning to the East after her sister's baby was safely born.Unexpectedly, she felt like changing her mind. She found that she didn't want to say good-bye after all, evan though she knew her sister no longer needed her. Was it because she had fallen in love with the beautiful country, or should she admit to herself that a tall, commanding rancher had corraled her heart forever?

Very Good Book, with the feel of "Montana Sky"
This book reminds me of one of my favorite Nora Roberts books, "Montana Sky". Even though the plot is different, they both have that "Big Sky Country" feel to them. Samantha comes to Wyoming to help out her pregnant twin sister and falls for the attractive rancher next door. Can she give up the big city and settle in Wyoming?
Excerpt from the back of the book:
"Rugged rancher Jake Tanner was the most irascible and bossy man Samantha Evans had ever met! Though he frustrated her with his demands, she couldn't ignore the electricity in his touch. Samantha had traveled to the majestic mountains of Wyoming in order to help her very pregnant sister. She never expected the long, lean cowboy next door ro rustle up dreams of a family of her own."

enjoyable book to read
This is the second book for the Cordina's Royal Family series. This book give you more facts on the characters in the first book (Affaire Royale) and it also sets the stage for the final book(The Playboy Prince). It is also an enjoyable book to read by all by itself. I highly recommmend you read not just this book, but the first and last book as well.

Another Good Command Performance By Nora Roberts!
It is a well known fact that romance novels must have a happily ever after ending. Therefore if the outcome is predictable, most romance readers would agree it is the journey which keeps them reading this genre. And if romance novels are your choice of reading matterm few write them as well as Nora Roberts.

Command Performance is the second book in the Cordina Royal Family series. In this book, the author focuses on Prince Alex, the heir to the throne of Cordina. Prince Alex, at 30, shows all the makings of a fine leader soemday. But he has yet to find a wife or provide the country with a future heir. But that may soon change. Inviting Eve Hamilton to dierct a command performance in Cordina, Alex finds this American woman just as lovely as wen he first met her seven years before. But there new fiound relationship at first is quite adversarial as at first each found fault with the other. But the readers has only to watch as Nora Roberts weaves her romance magic to find these two falling in love given some time.

Those who have already read the first book in this series, Affaire Royale will enjoy their return to the fairytale country of Cordina and the inhabitants of the Royal Palace. Many will also remember Eve Hamilton and the crucial role she played in that title.

I heartily recommend this title particularly if you enjoy series in general or perhaps Nora Roberts's series. Now I look forward to reading the third book in the series, The Playboy Prince.

Good read, yet not as riveting as books that followed.
Having read her most recent books previous to reading The Calhoun Women, I felt that she has grown in her creativity of personal relationships. Since I read about all four Calhouns consecutively, I felt that I was basically reading the same story over again. I did like the mystery involving the emeralds and felt that Ms. Roberts did a fine job in developing that subplot. I would have to say that my favorite Calhoun story was that of Susanna's. I appreciate that Ms. Robert's female characters are strong, yet human. On the whole, the book was a good read and difficult to put down.

I loved all 4 books!
I recently read all four of the Calhoun Women Books and they were just wonderful,so intriguing and well written. Anyone who reads them must also read Megan's Mate by Nora Roberts, the last book about the Calhoun Women. I read it as well and it was just as wonderful as the others.

Enjoyed reading the book
The book bought had the first 2 stories : Catherine and Amanda. I would like to avail of the other 2 books too. I have checked if the book was available at the Barnes & Nobel and other book stores and I was wondering if you would be able to let me know where I could find the books that had the stories on the other 2 sisters: Lilah and Suszanna. Would appreciate if you could let me know. Thanks Overall a very pleasant experience reading the book.

Easy to read and creepy at the same time!!!!
As anyone can tell you...being threatened or stalked is creepy...very much so!!! "Night Shift" showed all the aspects of being threatened plus an added bonus: romance. Of course Nora Roberts put in a little romance for her romance fans along with the suspense for her J.D. Robb fans. I just wish I had a cute cop like Boyd Fletcher in my life!!!!! Although... I have no reason to need protection!

Synopsis
IN THE STILL OF THE NIGHT- The calls came like clockwork- a cold hate-filled voice telling late-night radio announcer Cilla O'Roarke that she going to die. The never-ending threats had finally made her a believer. She was desperate-desperate enough to accept police protection. Cilla prefered to keep her distance from the police, and she had her reasons. But there was something about Boyd Fletcher that made him difficult to ignore. He was strong, laconic, infuriating and clearly determined to watch over her every second of the day-and night. And the trouble was, the more Cilla saw of her unwanted bodygaurd, the more she wanted him to share the night she loved...

Tennis Players Find "Love" On The Court....And Off!
Stormy love story between two professional tennis players. This story will especially appeal to tennis fans.
Excerpt from the back of the book:
"Opposites attract, but it can be a volatile mix. Asher Wolfe and Ty Starbuck were tennis superstars-incendiary Ty all fire and flash, Asher the ice princess with devastating control.
Three years before, the combination had resulted in a passionate, unforgettable affair. But misunderstandings had catapulted Asher into an unhappy marriage with another man.
Now the ice princess was back on the circuit, determined to win. But from Wimbledon to Forest Hills, her concentration was threatened. Ty's dark eyes dared her to become the fiery woman he had once loved-and would not lose again."

Cute and Cool
First of all i want to say that this was a great book. The Tennis fans will espesially like it. I don't usually read that kind of stories, but I took this one randomly and was amazad how sweet and kind of naive it was. I liked Tay and Asher very much. I recomend this book to all of you with romantic hearts. Ms. Roberts, You've done a great job through the years! Keep it up!

Psychiatric Rehabilitation
In reviewing this book I found it to be interesting and educational at the same time. It is not dry reading for a subject that could well be that. I will be able to use this book in my clinical practice when I graduate this summer.

Superb introduction to psychosocial rehab for new clinicians
Superb introduction to psychosocial rehabilitation. Introduces the experiece of mental illness from the client's perspecitive, covers symptoms and etiology of severe and persistent mental illness as well as treatment strategies. The book is simply written using case illustrations. I have used it for new staff at our community mental health clinic for the past 2 years. The book was popular - so popular that it disappeared and I am replacing it with several copies, one for each team. I would recommend the book as a resource for any student of a mental health program or any staff person trying to get a handle on working effectively with clients who have severe and persistent mental illness.

Engaging
I couldn't wait for this book to come out and I wasn't disappointed! Nora Roberts sometimes gets accused (sometimes justly so) of making her heroines weak and dependent, but Tory doesn't fit that mold no matter how much she herself feels she may fall apart. Which doesn't mean she doesn't come to need and depend on Cade, the wonderful brother of her childhood friend who comes back into her life. It just means that, having taking control of her life and become her own master, she's finally ready to share that life with someone who's not looking to control it. The relationship between these two was very realistic, very sweet, and a necessary part of Tory's healing process from her abusive childhood. As a murder mystery, there were few real "clues" as to who the killer was, but I did guess halfway through. This didn't diminish my enjoyment, it just made me want to see if I was right. I also noticed the screw-up other readers have mentioned that the author made in terms of the timing of the murders -- I wondered if in editing all the dates got mistaken by 10 years or so. After puzzling over the inconsistencies and then reading the reviews on this website where other people noticed the same thing, I let it go and didn't let it hinder my enjoyment of the book at all. It'll get fixed in the next printing. Lastly, I agree the ending was fairly abrupt. The book definitely could have used an epilogue or something so that the reader would get some payoff and see Tory and Cade happy, Faith restored (pardon the pun), and Progress healed. All in all, an excellent, page-turning story.

One of Roberts's three all time bests
Carolina Moon will be added to Carnal Innocence and Hidden Riches as my three all time favorite books by Nora Roberts. This story was completely enthralling. Faith, the heroine, goes back home to confront her past and solve the long-ago murder of her childhood friend, and falls in love with Faith's brother, Cade. Nora's writing just keeps getting better. I was immersed in this story from start to finish. The only thing that marred my enjoyment was the characterization. With all that happened in the story, I didn't feel as connected to the hero and heroine as I usually do in Roberts's books. However, that fact doesn't detract from Carolina Moon's top notch mystery. This is one book you'd be ill-advised to miss!

Nora Roberts is skilled at her craft
I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I was only looking for a quick summer read to tide me over until one of my favorite authors released a new novel, but what I discovered was that this author is superb at her game. The blurb on the back cover gave me the information that intrigued me into choosing this paperback: Tory is moving back to her southern hometown after years away because she can no longer avoid her strong feelings about her childhood best friend's murder. Tory hopes to put her lingering melancholy to rest by facing it directly, and in the process she finds herself growing closer to her late friend's older brother. Unbeknownst to her, the killer is aware of Tory's presence and making terrible plans. There's also a supernatural element that adds a deliciously Stephen-King-esque flavor to the tale. Roberts crafts her stories with excellent attention to detail; settings are lovingly rendered, characters reveal themselves slowly but compellingly, dialogue is snappy and incidents are described with an immediacy that puts the reader right in the character's shoes. I was falling in love with the town, feeling like the characters were my friends too and all around impressed with Roberts's technical skill. I picked up some of Roberts's previous romantic suspense after reading this one - I personally enjoyed 'River's End', but a book written prior to that one, 'Sanctuary', had some plot element problems. I think Roberts, who is apparently branching out from mainstream romance, was feeling her way into this genre and I think she shows amazing potential to get even better. As a matter of fact, I'm looking forward to her next foray into suspense.

A Suspenseful, Satisfying Read
"Brazen Virtue" is a great romantic suspense novel, written in true Nora Roberts style.
Grace is a successful murder mystery author who is looking for some peace and quiet after a stressful book tour. When Grace discovers that her usually straight-edge sister Kathleen is earning extra money as a phone sex operator she is concerned. But because of the company's strict anonymity policy, she figures that Kathleen will be perfectly safe. Unfortunately, she couldn't be more wrong, as she returns home one night to find her sister strangled with the phone cord. It seems as though Grace has walked right into one of her books, only this time she is the dazed survivor.
Detective Ed Jackson, Grace's new neighbour is assigned to the case. But he is having trouble concentrating on anything but his attraction to Grace and his desire to keep her safe. Grace is determined to avenge her sister's death, so she sets up a daring trap to lure the killer to her. Ed doesn't like the idea one bit, and is concerned for this feisty woman he has fallen in love with.
But neither Grace nor Ed knows that Grace's trap has already worked and that this brilliant madman has turned his obsession to her. As the killer closes in it will be up to Ed to put things together and get to Grace in time to save her life!
This is a thrilling and fast-paced read with a lovely romance added to the mix. Grace and Ed will charm readers with their endearing quirks and mannerisms. This is a follow-up to "Sacred Sins" although it can easily stand alone (I read this one first and had no trouble following). This is a wonderfully entertaining book and I have no doubt that you will enjoy it!

Brazen Virtue deserves a gold metal
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book! I went through it in about 4 days. This is the fourth Nora Roberts book I've read (the other ones were the Three Sisters Island Trilogy) and I've enjoyed them all! Lots of mystery, tons of suspense. Keeps you guessing and on your toes thinking and trying to figure out "whodoneit".

This virtue truly is brazen!
I truly enjoyed this book! The story is touching because there is a little "sisterhood" in the beginning. Anyone who has a sister and who is a sister should read this book. If I say anymore, I will give you the rest of the book and you will not read for your self. Enjoy!

Very disappointed Nora Roberts fan
Nora Robert is one of my favorite authors and I usually can't put her books down. The only thing that kept me reading this book was knowing that it is a Nora Roberts book and it would have to get better. It didn't.

The characters are unsympathetic and it's hard to care what happens to them.

Nora Roberts has used thieves as heroes in other books, but the characters are charming and its fiction, so it works. It didn't work in this book. Doug is a thief who often gambles away what he steals. There is nothing romantic about him. It was mentioned a few times that Doug would sometimes check into a hotel for a week and rob the other guests. Every time this was mentioned I couldn't help but think of the poor tourist who worked hard all year to go away for two weeks and relax. Then, his first day in a foreign country, his wallet is stolen with his cash, his credit cards, and his ATM card. He'll get his cards replaced, but they'll be waiting for him at home. Meanwhile, he's traveled across an ocean and has no means to do anything but sit in his hotel room and watch TV. I really tried to like the characters, but Doug just came off as cruel.

Whitney is shown, repeatedly, to be upset and concerned about the innocent people who get killed as she and Doug go after their treasure. However, she has no concern for Doug's victims - rather, she's impressed by what he does.

If this were my first Nora Roberts book, it would also be my last. I own most of her books and there are no others I actively disliked - and just two I was passive about (Hidden Star and Captive Star, I liked Secret Star).

A great book that makes you laugh and have you in suspense.
Hot Ice-an adventurous, romantic, comedy that had me staying up all night to read. Nora Roberts wrote great romantic scenes like her other book Sancturary. Hot Ice made me laugh out loud many times because of the many sarcastic remarks. Hot Ice is definetly a page-turner that made me want to order more of her books!

A Fun and Suspenseful Read!
"Hot Ice" by Nora Roberts is not half as bad as some of the reviews would lead you to believe. Though "Hot Ice" is certainly not one of Nora's best works, it is still a fun-filled, exciting, and romantic read that I had trouble putting down. So give this book a try, you may be pleasantly surprised.

Doug Lord is used to living his life on the run, due to his chosen profession - larceny. Doug is great at what he does, but it looks like his luck may be running out since he crossed a terrifying and some say omnipotent criminal named Dimitri. Injured and running for his life, Doug surprises New York heiress Whitney MacAllister when he leaps into her car, right before the bullets start flying. Tired of her sheltered and smotheringly boring life, Whitney decides to help Doug, at least for a little while, and see where it takes her. After losing the black sedan chasing them, Whitney brings Doug back to her apartment.

Doug knows money when he sees it, and he figures Whitney may just be his ticket to finding the treasure of a lifetime. Doug has in his possession the stolen documents that lead to a legendary hidden fortune dating back to the French Revolution. Whitney has the cash and the connections Doug needs, but the only way Whitney will agree to help Doug is if she becomes his partner. Doug never works with partners, having been burned one too many times, but he figures he can bring Whitney along until he has what he needs from her and then ditch her.

So Doug and Whitney's adventure begins. With Dimitri's hired muscle always right behind them, Doug and Whitney need to be smart and fast. Their dangerous encounters with Dimitri's men make for some wonderfully suspenseful scenes that will have readers on the edge of their seats.

The stolen documents lead Doug and Whitney to Madagascar, where their journey begins in earnest, but complications abound. Whitney doesn't trust Doug one little bit, and Doug surely doesn't trust Whitney. But as time passes, the ever present spark between them gets brighter and brighter, until it's nearly impossible to resist. Doug knows that letting himself fall for Whitney could very well cost him his big break, but in the end, his heart doesn't give him much choice. Whitney too finds herself falling in love, as she gets to know the intelligent, determined, perceptive, and funny man underneath Doug's sexy exterior. So as these two race through the exotic lands and rainforests of Madagascar with hired killers never more than a step behind, Whitney and Doug find a passionate love in each others arms that they never expected to find. But Doug knows a thief like him has no future with a classy lady like Whitney. Unfortunately, that's not the biggest problem on Doug's mind, because the dangerous game he and Whitney are playing may end up being fatal!

I thought Doug was a wonderful character. He was smart, handsome, intriguing and very real. Though Whitney's character sometimes grated on my nerves a bit with her occasional spoiled rich girl attitude and her annoying little account book, for the most part, I was able to overlook her flaws and see the sensitive and strong woman beneath. Whitney and Doug undeniably make a great team, and their amazing adventure kept me glued to the pages.

Overall, "Hot Ice" was a very enjoyable read. The story never stops, and is filled with thrilling suspense and red-hot romance. I am extremely glad I decided to take a chance and buy this book when I found it, because otherwise I would have missed out on some great entertainment. So don't believe everything you read, buy this book today and form an opinion for yourself, I most certainly did not regret it!
