Publisher's Weekly, are we talking about the same book????
Mr. Urla's book is clear, concise and well illustrated.
The instructions for each exercise are easy to follow with pictures that clearly show the postions being described. Even as a beginner in the practice of yoga/yogilates, I have had no problems figuring out what to do. This book works well with Mr. Urla's exercise videos, which put the individual exercises together for a smooth, flowing workout. I highly recommend this book and the videos to anyone who is interested in learning this terrific form of body conditioning. If you want to read a bit more about Yogilates before spending any money go to Mr. Urla's website at www.yogilates.com

second to none
this book is extremely well written and easy to follow for anyone who has the desire to learn pilates and/or yoga. while it is usually more effective to meet with an instructor, if the instructor isn't Jonathan, buy this book. having taken a workshop with the author, it would be difficult for me to be instructed by anyone else, therefore having this book to refer to is completely necessary. I encourage anyone who has the desire to do something that will give incredible results, to get this book and follow it several times a week. you will not be disappointed!

Well done And Bravo!!
I have taken Mr. Urla's class in the past and I find the written work to be as complete as all of his previous work including his tapes. I can recommend this text/manual highly. Especially if you are trying to figure out Pilates, Yoga what is the difference? Jonathan continues to teach this work thoroughly and
I look forward to his future work. For all NYers find out where he is teaching next and get there.

101 Things You Need to Know About Internet Law

Internet law for dummies :)
I believe this is a good tool for non-lawyers, who need to know about the legal aspects of internet. This is an excellent reference for common doubts, like being impersonated on the internet, internet auctions and its legal binding, privacy, digital signature, etc.

I find this book a short but substancial answer to the problems mentioned before, in a simple language that may be understood by everyone interested in the subject.

Fascinating "legal guide to the 'Net"
Laws governing the 'Net seem to change as often as the 'Net itself changes. For every technological breakthrough, there are also seemingly endless legal questions that eventually come up. This book attempts to address the major legal issues regarding the Internet. As such, it's a great guide to the most common legal questions to be asked.

While the book sticks to 101 specific legal topics concerning the 'Net, most of them apply to such areas as "legal contracts," "digital signatures," "liability," medical transactions, privacy, advertising, and online banking. While some of the material covered here might seem to be "common-sense," as with any other form of law, it always pays to be totally informed.

If you do any web surfing, e-commerce or any other Internet activity that might be "governed" by laws, this is an excellent book to keep handy, not just as a learning tool, but also as a quick reference.

Highly Recommended!
Author Jonathan Bick gives general readers a short introduction to the ways that various laws apply to the Internet. He focuses on existing laws about contracts, defamation, privacy, copyright, trademark and other areas, and explains their application to the Internet environment, since few laws specific to the Internet have been drafted. He covers a variety of topics, including Internet-related taxes, rights, options, obligations, liabilities, debt collection, advertising, billing refunds, intellectual property protections and more, all organized into one- or two-page discussions. Each section is followed by a summary of the law or recommendations on how it applies to business. We [...] recommend this clear and easy-to-understand guide to anyone who uses the Internet for work, business or entertainment. And if you hit a section that doesn't apply to you, skip ahead - one advantage of the book's organization is that you can jump to the sections that interest you.

BEAUTIFUL THING, CHANGED THE WAY TO SEE THE LIFE.
I BELIEVE, THAT BEAUTIFUL THING IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FILM OF GAY GENRE THAT I'D HAS SEE, IS A FRESH FILM, THAT TELL US A STORY VERY COMMON IN OUR SOCIETY. I ALWAYS BELIEVED THAT THE HOMOSEXUALITY WAS SOMETHING BAD, BUT WITH THIS FILM I CHANGED MY POSITION IN FRONT THIS CONCEPT. THE ACTORS SCOTT NEAL AND GLEN BERRY BETWEEN OTHERS MAKED AN ESPECTACULAR ROLL AND CONGRATULATIONS TO THE SCREENWRITER AND THE DIRECTOR, THE SCREENPLAY IS VERY GRATEFUL.

They Made Their Own Kind Of Music
For a change, we have here a most outstanding gay story which doesn't mention AIDS every three paragraphs - in fact, I believe it only comes up once. What a relief! It's the most moving love story, where those who fall in love just happen to be two boys. This really has to be read to be believed - no review could do it justice, so my advice to you is simply to get hold of a copy! You will also fall in love - with Jamie & Ste, Leah, her Mum and Sandra - Jamie's Mum. You will laugh and cry, sometimes at the same time. A modern masterpiece. Some further advice to you, when you've finished reading, find a Mama Cass/The Mamas And The Papas CD and lap up the atmosphere. You'll notice how many songs could have been written especially for "Beautiful Thing". By the way, Mama Cass didn't die choking on a sandwich - she had a heart attack.

Beautiful Thing : A Screenplay by Jonathan Harvey
It is about two school boys who fall in love.

A long hot summer on a housing estate in South London. James is bunking off school, whilst his Mother Sandra juggles job promotion and her relationship with hippy-dippy boyfriend Tony.

Next door lives Sassy Leah, who spends her day listening to Mama Cass records. In the same block, Jamie's class mate Steve, although sporty and popular at school, Is bullied by his drunken father. One day Steve, seeks refuge in Sandra's flat and ends up sleeping head to toe with Jamie...

Author says "The only images I really had of gay people when I was growing up were those public boys in cricket jumpers taking each other punting on the river, or the working class boys who got kicked out and ended up working as rent boys. This play in which somebody can be working class and still have their sexuality accepted. That was my agenda. It's not about what you get up to after lights out, it's about falling in love."

The feel good book of the summer film 96

We love the book and the film

Just Enough Cooks for this Broth
Explore these powerful astrological evaluations of the causes and effects of the September 11th attacks. With a selection of readings from popular astrologers such as Robert Hand and Jonathan Keyes, you'll have the opportunity to look at these events from several perspectives. How were the charts of George W. Bush and the United States itself, impacted? What were the economic influences involved?

I particularly enjoyed the fact that every perspective wasn't devoted to the USA, corporate, we are the chosen children of capitalism viewpoint. Instead, we're treated to far more objective looks at the events (and the provocations) which led up to them.

Finally, we're shown a glimpse of what is to come. Offering some astrological probabilities of upcoming aspects, we are invited to see fresh possibilities and insights.

I enjoyed this book far more than I usually do, when several astrologers get together and caucus over the same bit of information. The repetition we may see only serves to reinforce particular ideas and the articles are woven together into a seamless and unified whole.

Wonderful Collection of Essays
This work is a terrific resource for anyone interested in understanding not only the astrological correspondences to 9/11/01, but also the implications for the economy and for the collective psyche. Essays are written by top-notch astrologers and are accompanied by maps and charts for illustration. Well worth reading!

Superb astrological consideration of 9.11.01.
The nature of the subject and the writing quality of the seven astrologers involved (the most famous being Robert Hand) make this a very unusual book. A very, very, very broad range of astrological and non-astrological perspectives are very carefully covered in this assessment of the terrorist attacks on America and some of the possible implications for all of us.

Astrologically the main emphasis is on interpretations of the charts of the events in September, together with related charts such as those of the United States, George W. Bush and, to some extent, Osama Bin Laden. Many other charts are also considered such as the World Trade Centre bombing in 1993 and the national chart for Israel. Interpretations of the Saturn-Pluto opposition transit through 2001 and 2002 receive particular attention throughout the book.

The astrology is continually placed in a broad context, with extensive considerations of the historical, political, and economical background to the attacks, together with similar perspectives on the consequences. Many questions are asked. Did the perpetrators use astrology? Did the terrorists intend to crash into the White House? Where do we go from here? Very occasionally some of the views appear rather fanciful, but overall this is superb stuff that does intelligent justice to modern astrology.

The Perfect Gift
This coffee table book is the perfect gift! I bought it for all of my family members. The artist's paintings are exquisite. I know everyone else enjoys it as much as I do.

A Reflection Of The Artist
The artwork displayed in the book "The Creativity of Jonathan Knight, A Visual Dialogue" presents pieces of everyday life at the most delicate moments. The paintings, colorful but soft, offer a refreshing look at nature, still life, and the natural beauty of humans through the artist's eyes. A consistent variety of breathtaking images keep you thumbing through the pages. It is definitely a book to keep on the coffee table when entertaining guests, especially those who appreciate quality artwork.

masterful
I would just like to comment on the creativity of Jonathan Knight, He has a talent like no other, there's a sense of awe in each piece, I personally enjoyed "The little flute player", and "Each day I pray", the detail in the miniature's are superb! Not only is he talented in oils, but pastels, water colors, etc. I feel each piece says something personal about the artist, there's also a story behind each one! I would love to own each piece represented in the book, for now I'm happy to be a collector of the Visual Dialogue, this book is a must for all art lovers! BRAVO!

The Adventures of Jonathan Gullible: A Free Market Odyssey

EXCELLENT BOOK!
I took economics this past summer with Mr. Schoolland. Very cool teacher and his book definitely supplemented the class. It really helped me to understand the economic theories because he presents them in a comprehensible fashion. Good book to have!

A Lesson For All
As a retired history teacher of 32 years at the secondary level, I beleive not only that this little book should be read by all children, it should be mandated that every home have a copy permanently on file. For those familiar with the Founding Fathers and their intent, you will be surprised at how far we have strayed. We intend to use this as part of the home study course for our two granddaughters ages 10 and 9.

So Good It's Banned by Hawaii Public School & StateLibraries
Schoolland does a wonderful job of exposing the foibles and hypocrisy that permeate government programs and policies, making a highly effective case for the free market and the libertarian principle of self-ownership.

The book is written as an easy-to-read children's story, but since it also operates on a deeper level, it is a compelling read for adults as well. I would recommend this as a "must read" for everyone above the age of ten, and would not hesitate to recommend it to an adult of any age. In fact, when friends and family ask me to explain my political philosophy, I get them a copy of "Jonathan Gullible."

An interesting side note, is that although the book has been published in at least 22 languages world-wide, significant difficulty is encountered getting the book carried by the Hawaii State and Public School Library systems, here in the author's state of residence. Recently, several such institutions have been asked to carry the book, and upon their failure to acquire it on their own, copies were donated. The donated copies are currently undergoing a review for "balance" before placement can be approved. Ironically, this fits in rather well with the message Schoolland has presented in "Jonathan Gullible."

Ambition and Love in Modern American Art

Try in vain to put it down.
I, like others, picked up Weinberg's book after the stellar Nochlin review. I was somewhat puzzled by the project at first, but as is often the case with the art Weinberg discusses, "Ambition and Love in Modern American Art" is too seductive to dismiss. While his categories seem vague, even silly, his discussion of the artists and their work is elegant. His style is always engaging, mostly because it is so often personal. I suspect that critics have been troubled by Weinberg's approach, the lack of any real scholarly investigation, replaced by coffee-table talk and emotional musings. I can't really refute such critiques. But I do think that Weinberg's approach holds a lesson for all those interested in studying, writing about, and even practicing art. To try and separate oneself from the art you create or examine is a futile enteprise. His inclusion and discussion of such themes (God forbid!) as love, desire, and ambition adds a much needed jolt of blood and flesh into art history. It reminds us that art history is no science and that art historians need not feel so insecure about that. After all, art-making itself is not just a process of intellect, it is one of passion. Perhaps historians should investigate their own stirrings a bit more, as Weinberg has done here, to make their own scholarship truly insightful and what's more, readable.

A Perfect Antidote to the Myth of the Pure Genius
This is one of the best art history reads I've had in a long time. Wenberg's is an original mind. You just have to try it for yourself.

A must for scholars of American art!
Picked up this book based on Linda Nochlin's rave review in Art in America, and also, having recently heard Weinberg speak in New Mexico. This is a smart well-written text which will appeal to scholars and regular folks as well. Chapter on O'Keeffe, and the one on O'Keeffe and Stieglitz quite fascinating, as is the Weinberg's take on Agee and Evans. I plan on assigning this to my students for a course on 20th century American art.

Hey, Fun-Seekers, I rate this book a million stars
I have loved this book since I was a teeny weeny little girl. I totally agree with everything that has been previously said about how good it is. It's accurate, it's a headlong read - you can hardly put it down once you get rolling. I had one of the original hardcovers (it was my aunt's), plus a falling-apart paperback which I just gotta replace. True, the movie does not do it justice although it is real, real good - I think this was Tyrone Power's role of a lifetime. The music is now considered a classic and the cinematography is utterly gorgeous (filmed in Mexico with all the mountains and flora and fauna, etc.). I told my daughter to bury me with a copy of this book... This is truly a movie they should absolutely re-make (and get it right) - anyway, more later!

An Exciting Adventure
This intriguing novel immediately propels the reader into the life of a young and courageous Spaniard who sacrifices everything he owns for a chance to find honor and treasure in the New World. Each adventure, from the escape from the Spanish Inquisition to the conquest of Tenochtitlan (Mexico City), seems so real that you feel as if you were there alongside the characters, fighting for a common cause. This novel offers a vivid and accurate depiction of the Conquest of Mexico, the atrocities of the Spanish Inquisition, and a comparison between the "pagan savages" of the New World and the supposedly superior and religious conquistadors. The excitement of battle is also intertwined with an enthralling, romantic story line.
Although this book would be fantastic with only its compelling story line and breathtaking adventure, it is enriched by a profound and universal philosophy that questions and defines such concepts as love, friendship, racism, and religion. Captain from Castile is an inspiring and enthralling novel that I would equally recommend as an adventure, a romance, a historical and cultural depiction, or a deeper, almost philosophical piece. I found it a book that was hard to put down, yet so absorbing that when I reached the final page, I wished that the book was longer so that I might remain in the story a few moments longer.

If you love historical adventure....
...you'll love this book! I have to agree with "No from Seattle." This is one of my five all-time favorites as well. I first read it about 35 years ago when I was a kid, and have re-read it probably 5-6 times since (it's pretty intense and not a once-a-year read). Its compelling characters, graphic and historically accurate account of the Inquisition and the Conquest, heroes and villains, tough hombres and scoundrels, are no less real to me now than they were 35 years ago. Pedro de Vargas has been my archetypical hero since my first read, and few others have matched or exceeded him in my mind. Cortez was every bit as complex in reality as he is portrayed in the book, and the Conquistadores' audacity and greed in believing that a few hundred men could conquer a martial civilazation was realistically and breathtakingly portrayed. The period in Tenochtitlan is portrayed in a detail rarely seen anywhere else, including in histories I've been inspired to read as a result of this book. The account of the Sad Night was grim, desperate, and exciting. The author's descriptions of the Aztecs, a tough warrior race with a strange mixture of brutality and beauty, gave me a much better sense of the high culture present in North America when the Europeans arrived. And of course we can't forget the romantic storyline - enough to satisfy any romance addict. Be warned - the movie doesn't really do the book justice: it only covers about the first half of the story, with a contrived ending, and Tyrone Power was a little too old and a little too wooden to play Pedro de Vargas with conviction. But don't let that stop you from reading this book! It has to be one of the all-time great adventure stories.

A Good Read!
Are you sick of the condescending tone of most Internet instruction books? Well, Jonathan Ezor has written the book for you. It focuses specifically on managing the risks involved in bringing your company online. Ezor uses Internet jargon, but he defines terms quickly and clearly. He doesn't sugarcoat the risks of the journey into cyberspace. Despite the risks, he shows that the effort is worthwhile because of the Internet's incredible potential for your company. We at getAbstract recommend this book to those who are bringing their companies online, and to those considering this step.

A practical guide to the craft of becoming an eBusiness
A good read, and a great addition to anyone's business book library.

If you are looking for a book that will actually provide you with know-how and help in the management and operation of your company, this is the book for you.

There are a handful of books out there that actually make sense for "real" companies trying to move online. This is one of them.

Unlike books full of goofy theories and breathless hype, this book is a clear, methodical exposition and explanation of the legal and structural issues related to becoming an eBusiness.

The author is an attorney, however, unlike the typical "legal department" issues that slow things down, his practical experience with the law will help you speed things up - all the while avoiding pitfalls that could trip you up down the line.

This one is staying in my "must-read" collection.

A "must have" for every business owner's book shelf.
As a business owner, I found this book to be an eye-opener. In a clear and concise manner, the author pinpointed the both the areas to watch out for, and the areas of opportunity when venturing onto the Internet. My partner is now reading it!
