The title says it all...
I read this book every day and love it! Kevin Nelson gives practical, fun and whimsical advice to people who love (or want to love) to run.

The Runner's Book of Daily Inspiration
This book was given to me as a gift. Being a "novice runner" of two years, I found this book to be very motivational. It is very intuitive on the thoughts of runners and some of the obstacles runners may encounter and how to get beyond those barriers. I have thought it such an excellent book that I am suprised it is not readily stocked and available for 24 hour shipping, especially during the holiday season. You know us last minute shoppers. Great gift idea for the novice or avid runner in your life if you can find a copy of it in time.

A Book to Push you Through it All
The Runner's Book of Daily Inspiration:A Year of Motivation, Revelation, and Instruction is most likely the best investment I have ever made. Last year, I made a resoltion to myself to get in shape, eat healthy, and basically be a fit person inside and out. This is not a very easy resolution to fulfill, as I soon found out. It was my plan to run at least 3 times a week, and supplement it with another form of aerobic exercise. Very quickly, I lost my motivation, and was not living up to my expectations. I came upon this book soon afterwards, and tried to regain my motivation. After restarting my exercise program along with reading this book, I am now running every day of the week, rain or shine, hot or cold, I run through it all, all due this very book. If you buy one book in your life, buy Catcher in the Rye. But if you buy two, buy this one too!

Great resource!
This book has a great selection of climbs from glaciered peaks like Mt Rainier to remote rock climbs in the North Cascades. The pictures of the routes and the graphics of the rock pitches are excellent. The histories of each climb add to the total enjoyment of doing a route. It is a pleasure to read and a real asset for the climber.

A great climbing resource!
This book includes a great selection of climbs in the Cascade Mountains. From classic routes up Mt. Rainier and Mt. Baker to more obscure climbs in North Cascade National Park, it has it all. The descriptions are clear and contain all of the pertinent information to get you to the top! The pictures of the routes and the graphics of the rock pitches are extremely useful. The history behind each climb also adds to the overall enjoyment of the climbing experience. It is a good resource for the beginning climber as well as the advanced. Read it and hit the hills!

A must for every climber in Washington!
This guide thoroughly describes several climbs in the cascades of Washington, ranging from simple walk-ups to technical rock climbs. It gives detailed information on the best climbs. I have used it extensively on numerous climbs and find it informative, current, easy to read, and very helpful. The maps and pictures with routes are especially helpful. Almost every major climb in the North Cascades is covered and the history section preceding the description of each climb is very interesting. This is a great book and a must for any mountaineer in Washington, whether they be a beginner or a seasoned climber.

Byron...who knew?
I am not a fan of the English Romantics but I will make a big exception for Lord Byron. He's wild! "Don Juan," parts of which are included in this book, is bawdy and hilarious. Keep in mind that the poem was not considered fit for young ladies to read when it came out...are you tempted yet?

The Dover Thrift Editions are surprisingly well-constructed - they'll outlast, say, your Oxford World Classics paperbacks - and the poems are usually well-chosen. And they're....cheap!

You can't go wrong with this one
This is a great collection of thirty of Byron's short poems, arranged in chronological order. Everyone should own at least one collection of Byron's work, and at this price, why not make this the one?

Short but sweet
This is a great collection of mostly short poems by one of the greatest poets in memory. beginning with "Damaetas" and ending with "On this Day I complete my Thirty-sixth year" these 30 poems, in chronological order, represent a great portion of Byron's work, including portions of Childe Herold's Pilgramage, hebrew melodies, don juan, and manfred. great as an introduction to byron.

Beats Ettinger Hands Down
That pretty much sums it up. This book is a lot more user friendly. Ettinger's is good for those in acedemia. Nelson & Couto is for those in the "real world".

Vet Students Agree
I recently consulted with a group of advanced veterinary students on which of the small animal internal medicine texts would be the most useful to me. For the record, I am an allied health professional with more background in human medicine. I looked at this text and Ettinger's, which--again!--my sources kept referring to as the bible of small animal internal medicine. Ettinger was only about $30 more than this text, and as a big two-volume set, it looked like a better deal at first glance. However, this text is FAR more user-friendly, and there were sections that I read right away out of sheer interest. Unless you are a vet student planning to make a meaningful investment in heavy books, this book is likely to meet your needs and do so in a relatively painless way.

Small Animal Internal Medicine
As a veterinary student this book has been my "bible." It has current information and is a lot more user friendly than the Ettinger texts. There are simplified charts and tables of diagnostic and therapeutic plans and differential diagnoses. The author includes other current opinions on the subject matter as well as his own. I feel this is a great reference book for veterinary professionals.

Soul Care Bible Hits the Mark!
Outstanding Bible. Loaded with information to help people in various crisis situations. Very importantly, this Bible provides lots of scripture so that people in these situations can turn to several places in the Bible and see how God delivered those in similar situations. This Bible is also great for pastors, lay counselors, and others who desire to help people build a spiritual foundation as they address their life issues.

Finally a Counseling Bible
This Bible is a great asset to anyone in a counseling ministry. Articles about specific counseling issues such as raising children, divorce recovery, sexual abuse, guilt, eating disorders, and many more are included in the text. Even more numerous are the "soul notes" interspersed throughout the text. These notes explain how certain verses pertain to the counseling topics. Another outstanding feature of the Bible is the extensive index which enables the reader to locate the articles, soul notes and verses about a given topic. Definitely a wonderful version of the Bible.

A Lay Counseling Must!
Covers a wide variety of topics which a lay counselor might encounter. Format is easy to follow and very effective at getting the point across. Great resource for anyone wanting to help people.

Hilariously Funny
This book is filled with some of the most diabolical tricks I've heard of. People who are serious about getting even have a lot to choose from. Some of them can land you in jail if you get caught. Thisbook is intended for entertainmentpurposes only.

The COMPLETE Guide to getting Even
Anyone every pull a prank on you? Steal your girlfriend? Need to be punished? This is a dictionary of pranks and stunts to pull on those people that you really don't like. Or just want to read and dream of revenge? Either way, a hillarious read.

Fantastic - plenty of evil thought provoking material!
This book should be in the reference section for anyone who's ever wanted to get even with someone! The scary thing is the number of variations on a theme your mind comes up with as you read it.

The Structure of Delight

A tapesty of self discovery that is always on my nightstand.
Nelson Zink has put together a wonderfully winding roadmap for self discovery. I find myself returning to each one of the masterfully written stories at different times in my life to regain perspective. A perfect book for anyone who believes in defining themselves or gaining understanding of others without textbook labels.

Stories within stories for CHANGE!
I had the good fortune to hear some of Nelson's stories even before this fine little book was published the first time. With nary an explicit mention of "NLP" this book demonstrates many aspects of NLP in a particularly inviting way that lets folks experience positive change now. And besides that, there's lots of darn good stories!

Great review and/or introduction to basics of NLP and life
Utilizing stories within stories, Zink spins an interesting (although at times hackneyed) tale of personal growth. A great way to package many different techniques in a lively format. Definitely a nice reprieve from "technique textbooks" and "seminar transcripts" that seem so common in the world of NLP. I found myself highlighting many useful quotes and stories, and have recommended the book to several close friends and associates. It's on my list of books to reread every so often.

Surprise! it's powdered.
I loved this book. I needed to find some recipes to use the milk I already have in my food storage. I never realized there were so many ways to use powdered milk. I was so excited with the taste of the recipes that I made seven of them in two days. I also used the evaporated milk recipe in one of my families favorite deserts. It was a real hit.

This book is one of a kind.
I am one of the author's 12 children. Growing up with powdered milk was the best. We learned the many uses of dry milk and how to use it. Now, being married I wouldn't be without it. I give it as gifts for all occasions. This book contains everything from fruit smoothies to cottage cheese to pancakes and desserts. Growing up, I thought that dry milk was a staple in everybody's home. I was wrong. With this book, it could be a staple in your home, one you wouldn't want to live without.

It is very informative and well designed.
I actually helped her to bind this book, and I want to tell you that I think this cookbook is a must to have in your food storage. Not many people know what things you can make with powdered milk and this helps you out. I echo the words of the publisher. (:)

Essential Reading
This is one of the best books available for people who either have children or work with them. The make sense, and they work. Why would children do better when they are punished, when adults don't? I've used these ideas with the children I work with, as young as age three, and they work. I've also taught them to parents who have taken parenting classes with me, and all have reported success with the method. It allows us as adults to avoid power struggles, set clear limits and have boundaries with our children, rather than using external control. As the author explains, external control doesn't work in the long term - kids only learn how to not get caught, or they become totally dependent on the approval of others, which makes them likely to get caught in peer pressure. Punitive time out teaches conformity and compliance. Postive time out teaches kids to think about the impact of their behaviour on others and the consequences of their choices.

Bravo and thank you
Bravo and many thanks to Jane Nelsen for her latest book, Positive Time-Out. Since it's publication last November, nearly two hundred parents from my workshops have tried this fabulous approach with their children. The response and outcome has been more than favorable. Parents have shared that they no longer experience the power struggles and frustration that had accompanied their previous attempts with time-outs. Initally, many parents expressed hesitance in using this approach. Most said they felt it was necessary to make time-out punitive--even if they were following many of the Positive Discipline guidelines. However, I consistently hear parents say, "since we've changed our approach and stopped using time-out as a punishment, things have improved". All of Jane Nelsen's books have reframed the parenting approach from a negative to a positive and indeed it has helped many families achieve peace, cooperation, and satisfaction. As a parenting educator, I have used this model exclusively for nearly twenty years and have had the experience of receiving compliments and gratitude from the thousands of families who have benefitied from it's amazing and positive outcome.

Positive Time Out: And Over 50 Ways to Avoid Power Struggles
Amazing! This book blew my mind -- the idea that time-out could be positive when conventional wisdom teaches that it should be punitive. It made total sense to me. The author teachers that childlren do better when they feel better. Don't we all? I apoligized to my two sons (six and eight) for using punitive time out. Together we created a positive time out (which we decided to call "CORP" (for cooling off to regroup). They loved the sports analogy for time out as a time to calm down and regroup. Now, when they get upset, they often say, "I need some Corp time," or I ask, "Would some Corp time help you right now?" The author is right; my kids are learning a valuable life skill -- and so am I. I take Corp time myself when I'm about to "lose" it. The other ideas for reducing power struggles are also great, but my relationship with my kids is so much better since we created Corp together. These ideas could make a huge difference to the way parents (and teachers) discipline children. I recommend it to everyone.

Thank you, once again, Victor.
With "The Teachings Of Don Carlos", you delineated your path. With "Toltecs Of The New Millenium", you shared your experiences on that path. Victor, you have brought a reverence and sense of respect back to this world. You have shown us that here, all around us, we have a remarkable opportunity-- to tune one's spirit to the world at large. Embracing the world in such a way brings one into a deeper and clearer relation with Intent. This, is truly perception, and being, worthy of pursuit. Thank you.

Separate Reality - Altered States
For many of us looking for answers that doctrined religions cannot quite give us, Victor Sanchez has exposed a world where faith meets reality. Through his own research and paticipation, Sanchez experiences a spiritual domain that continues to exist admist the colonization and materialism now precedent around the world. Not restricted to boundaries of religion, Sanchez takes the reader through first hand understanding of what is possible when your allow and train your mind to believe in "separate realities." In a Carlos Casteneda like approach, Sanchez writes of his experiences with a group of Native Americans in rural Mexico, who have sustained their belief system and way of life before and after Spanish colonzation. Sanchez spent 15 years with these people and is sharing the world that these people "see." Those who have been exposed to Castaneda's work would find equal enjoyment with this book and have another supporting perspective of human capabilities with spirit and energy. Sanchez provides an answer to what is real to our eyes, may be only what we've been told and trained them to see. How easy is it to believe something you can't see, and if you do, should it be excused as hallucination or paganism. To the growing number of people not completely happy with formal religion, here is a glimsp of ancient wisdom that offers a possibility of human existence on a separate reality, one that is real.
