A Wonderful Book
This is one of the best books I have read in a long time. Written by Dale Susan Brown and Richard Nelson Bolles(Author of What Color is Your Parachute), it is a simple and concise guide to finding a job if you have a disability. It pulls no punches and tells it the way it is.
It gives simple, concise advice on how to conduct a job search, and what to do in an interview. It tells you how keep a prospective employer from getting nervous about your disability, and how to communicate in an interview in an honest and positive way.
If you are person with a disability this is a terrific book, if you have a co-worker with a disability, it is a terrific book, if you have people working for you with disabilities it is a terrific book, and if you are a "normal" person (whatever that is...} it is a terrific book.
The advice in the book leverages the expertise of both authors and is sound and easy to understand. It also helps you to do a better job, once you have employment. The book is highly recommended for everyone!

WOW -- What a book
WOW - What a book, co-authored by Dale Brown and Richard Bolles, the world known author of What Color is Your Parachute. Dale and Richard have developed a book full of concepts, how to and methods for empowering those of us with disabilities to want to seek out employment against the roadblocks that confront the normal job search.

The book is a MUST READ! A "must read" for even people who are currently employed; as it will give you the insight of what a person with a disability will go thru during their job search. Any temporary able bodied person may become disabled at any time in their employed life. Your "employment life" will be altered forever; thru no fault of your own doing.

No one chapter stands out. Each chapter carries its' own weight for the total read of this outstanding document.

I wish the authors great success with an excellent and easy to read reference book and a solid companion to WHAT COLOR IS YOUR PARACHUTE!

The authors have broken down yet another barrier!

Great book for job-hunters with special needs.
This is a great book for the individual with a disability who is thinking about getting off public assistance or who is just planning to switch jobs. This would also be a good book for any employer who might hire an individual with a disability.

Often both employers and prospective employees have misconceptions about what the law says about disabilitiy. The book explains how the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) protects individuals with disabilities. At the same time, it also explains what the ADA will not do.

I particularly liked the section on creative ways to interview for a job. Having a disability may make one seem strange and unfamiliar to a prospective employer. The book suggests creative ways to emphasize how one is also similar to the employer. Even if you do not have a disability, you may still want to read some of these clever suggestions.

It is often difficult to get disability benefits in the first place. This makes returning to work seem a risky proposition: What if you try to go to work and you are really not ready. If you fail, will you lose your disability benefits and have to start all over again? The book explains ways to protect some degree of benefits while easing back into the work force.

The two authors blend their areas of expertise to produce an outstanding book. The book is divided into sections with clear explanations and objectives. In the back of the book there are useful appendices with resources for further help and support.

Lighting the way home family bible
Most gorgeous bible I have seen. All the beautiful paintings will totally put you at peace while you're browsing this bible. All the inspirational verses and text are another way to get to know T. Kinkade, the artist and man. Have bought this for more then myself, everyone is just in awe seeing it. Scripture is very easy on the eyes, just done exquisitely, and with amazon.com
so affordable.

Inspiritational
I just received this bible for Christmas and I must say that it is the most beautiful bible that I have ever seen. Inside are pictures of Thomas Kinkade's work which are absolutely gorgous and inspiritational. If you are in the market to buy a new bible this is one I highly recommending purchasing. I was lucky enough to receive this as a gift.

Illuminating the Message
I can think of no finer artist to illustrate the Message than Thomas Kinkade! This magnificent volume is generously filled with his heart warming illustrations. Appropriately, his talent with a brush conveys his ability to capture the light and illuminate from within. I feel a stronger connection reading God's word with this Bible than I do with the one I have had for three decades. Indeed, worthy of being an heirloom!

THE BEST!!!
This is my favorite study bible and I have several, including the NIV, LAB, Ryrie, Scofield, and others. But this far out surpasses any of them.. I have the NKJV and that also is my favorite version of the Bible.
The study notes at the bottom cover about every verse and is very good at explaining without over doing.. If I only had one Bible this is the one I would pick..
There is a lot of other reasons for liking this Bible, like the beginning commentary on each book, the IN Depth articles, Word focus, Quick View Charts, Concordance, Maps (in-text and full-color) and in the front of the book it tells where to find all of this with the page number.

Excellent Study Bible
I received the NSB as a high school graduation gift. It is an excellent tool when studying the Word. The foot notes are pretty good, yet lacking on some important verses. They do not always clarify where needed. Yet with so many verses of the Bible you cannot really complain! Whats is really helpful is the built in concordance; while not exhaustive, still it contains the most widely used words Either way it beats carrying around a Strong's. Also helpful is the "Harmony of the Gospels" which tells all the recorded events in the Gospels and compares where they are documented between the 4 texts. Overall a great tool that has served me well the past few years. A great gift for young and old!

#1 Best Seller Ever
The most ancient of all books, no other book has ever sold as many copies as this written revelation to the finite man from an infinite God. The mysteries therein answer life's most difficult questions. 66 books which are split up into law, history, poetry, prophecy, and instruction in living gives the reader a glimpse of the heart and character of the One true God, the Creator of all Creation. In short, this book is about the beginning of time to the end of time. Creation was created perfect with man being God's most prized possession and the only creature to be made in His image. In order to be an entity unto itself, apart from being a puppet of God, man was given a free will. A choice was given him to do evil or good. Man chose evil. God being perfect, holy and just could not allow this to go unpunished. But God, loving man so much, wanted to give a way of redemption in which the only way was to transfer the punishment upon some perfectly innocent person. God, the Son left His throne and became man, Jesus Christ. The punishment was placed on Him when He was crucified on the cross. Three days later, Jesus rose from the dead conquering death. Thus, those who identify with Jesus as their Lord become innocent by association and take upon themselves His righteousness and by God's love and grace have a home in heaven when they die. For those who do not accept this One and only way, there is a lake of fire to punish them for ever and ever. That is the story in short. Read it for yourself. This book claims power to change your life. The NKJV is one of the more accurate translations and easy to understand while keeping the format of the KJV.

Ozzie Nelson was something special right to the end:
Ozzie Nelson was a dynamic person with an enthusiasm that was enchanting, a warmth and full of compassion for others. After, first discovering his autobiography at the library. I have finally been fortunate enough to find a rare copy to add to my collection. And, had the tremendous fortune of having his twin grandsons autograph it for me. They said that they preferred to dress as their cousins, Danny snd Jamie, in the photograph printed of them for their grandfather's book; but were made to wear the outfits for the picture, which to me is adorable. As I saw them perform in their concert, although, their style of music is quite different than their late grandfather's. They have the Nelson humor, optimistic spirit, and their own men. Besides their late grandfather, Ozzie, the other person I admire is their mother whom is an artist of primitives. My great-grandmother was a portrait painter, and so good that I felt I couldn't compete. But, when I saw primitives by Kristin Nelson, I knew that's what I wanted to do when I was fifteen. Before I realized it, once as I was watching an episode of the "Adventure's of Ozzie and Harriet," when it was aired on television, my mother said to me that I was a young version of Kristin. That made me happy, yet as I grew I felt a connection to her and wanted to be as sophisticated as she, I didn't know anything about her then, and didn't have any role models other than my elegant great-grandmother whom passed away when I was six years old. I've grew to learn that she and I have much in common: aside from both being the eldest in our families, the same luminous eyes, and not given to easy confidences. Her father was a genuine war hero in the second world war winning the purple heart as my father did thirty years later. She was a visionary, like Ozzie Nelson, somehow she had the power to turn her goals into realities, and her dreams came true. She had a collected all of Ozzie's younger son's record albums and photographs, and had dreamed of marrying him from the time she was eleven. At the age of thirteen she met him at a basketball game. Her father took a picture of their first meeting, which she put up on her wall in her room with thousands of others of Ozzie's younger son and the legend, "Nothing Is Impossible." Although, they didn't see one another for a few years later. She had felt they were meant to be together. When her husband died I was very young, and didn't know they were divorced until much later. My father had passed away around that time also, except with cancer of the liver as Ozzie passed away from. Yet Ozzie was sixty-nine and my father was forty-two years old. I saw my first picture of Ozzie's twin grandson's, and they strongly resembled my father. I also developed as my aunt said to me an infactuation on one of them. Never thinking that I would ever see them in person. That could never even happen. I read how Ozzie loved the ocean, and enjoyed to play volleyball at his beach house. So, I painted a picture of him incorporating him with a volleyball. Most recently, A&E did a biography of the Nelson family, and I learned that his beach house was sold after his wife passed away, and the new owners levelled it to make way for a new house. Ozzie lived an extraordinary life. Like my father, he did it gracefully and with integrity for others to lead by his example. His only granddaughter whom herself had beaten Hodgkin's lymphoma after being dianosed shortly after she was married. She and her husband had one daughter, but separated when she was three. Although, her former husband hasn't remarried, she had a son eight months ago out of wedlock. And, is busy making the movie about her family's life story. I have admired Ozzie and his daughter-in-law Kristin since i was very young. And, am not sure what I think about a movie about their lives. Ozzie's autobiography is wonderful. I come from an illustrious family myself, but my memories of them and them are private treasures. After, his grandson's concert and they signing the book. I somehow found the courage to ask them if they were going to their mother's art show. The one whom I had a crush on said to me he might go, and as he said that all else in the room had faded away. The other one said that he and his wife were going, and with a warm smile and a thumb's up he said before I walked away, "I'll see you at the art show." He has his grandfather Ozzie Nelson's smile.

Life before, during and after Ozzie and Harriet.
I read this book about 12 years ago. It is a great book about the life of an amazing 20th century musician. From his childhood in New Jersey to football days at Rutgers University, turning his band's lead singer into America's favorite mom, "Ozzie" is a captivating story about one mans adventures through life.

OZZIE NELSON WAS SECOND TO NONE
As I had read his 1973 autobiography that i found at the library one day. Ozzie has truly become an inspiration. He proved that with alot of hard work, discipline, determination, and a sharp, alert mind anything and all things are possible.

This Is The Best Bible For Practical Christianity!
Dr. Norman Vincent Peale revolutionized the way we apply Christian principles to our daily life. Peale, in conjunction with the highly enjoyable CEV text, will give you a jolt of life affirming faith. This is the kind of Christian psychology that rescued a more rugged generation of people from despair. We now live in a time where Peale's thoughts are even more applicable. The life lifters, prayers and mini-sermons throughout this text will make Bible reading an absolute joy. It ends up being hard to put down, like a paperback novel. Norman Vincent Peale will always be remembered for his unflagging optimism and his faith in God and the human spirit. He was not a candy coater, he was a realist who understood that God gave humans the capacity to change and grow through Christ. This Bible is another chapter in the God uses Peale legacy. It's now out of print. So, if it's listed here used, buy it. If it's expensive, save the extra money and buy it. It's worth it.

Positive Thinking Bible
This is the best Bible I have ever owned. It provides positive
thinking advice from Norman Vincent Peale in mini-sermons.
Norman Vincent Peale originated the popular religious magazine,
Guideposts.

A Winning Team: Peale and the Bible!
Dr. Norman Vincent Peale was arguably the most well-loved Christian preacher and author of the 20th century, as he did so much to enlighten and motivate our society and culture in the post-war era. His life was truly a blessing to us all. The Positive Thinking Bible was published after he passed on, but the breezy CEV translation combined with dozens upon dozens of comments, prayers and lessons by Dr. Peale sprinkled throughout the text make this one of the most enjoyable Bibles I've encountered in my seven years of ministry. I can share passages (and Peale's corresponding commentaries) with the Bible-weary, and for a change, have them actually *enjoy* scripture studies! Further, as one who believes in a positive and affirming approach to Christianity, I find motivation and encouragement here for myself. I would recommend this version to anyone who appreciates that the Bible is a book full of motivational power. God bless you, Dr. Peale!

Great features, further improvement possible
I don't think I need to explain how great the "Nelson's Textbook of Pediatrics" is, so I focus on the features as software.

This product is based on a java applet and for Windows and Macintosh. For each of the chapter, about 30 review questions are available in a multiple-choice format. The answer is not only with alphabetical one, but also with a concise explanation with a link to the textbook. I find this feature very helpful. I haven't checked "Nelson Review of Pediatrics, 2nd ed., Behrman,R.E.CW.B.Saunders , 2000 263p", but the publisher says that this feature is based on this book.

Update service is available. Every time when you launch the program, you are asked whether it checks the updates. Full access to NelsonPediatrics.com for further information is also available, after you sign up on the web site. After all, the support service is awesome.

However, there are some things you should know as windows users, which is why I put 4 stars. First, you are required to use Netscape or Internet Explorer as your default browser. The browser must be new enough, too. Second, you must insert the CD-ROM every time you use this program, since it doesn't install all the files to your hard disk unlike the previous edition. Third, if you are using localized Windows other than English, you may have to replace some files. The procedure is as follows, quoted from the mail I got immediately from the support center:

>The Java Runtime Environment (JRE) that we distribute with the Nelson
>product is not the internationalized version. It could be that one of
>the following may address the issue (FIRST BACKUP THE JRE DIRECTORY IN
>NELSON'S INSTALL DIRECTORY):
>1. Download and install the international version of the JRE 1.2.2 (the
>one we use for Nelson) from
>http://java.sun.com/products/jdk/1.2/jre/download-windows.html. Then
>copy the installed JRE directory and all contents to the Nelson
>directory, naming it JRE.
>
>2. Download and install the international version of the newer JRE 1.3.0
>from http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/jre/download-windows.html and do the
>same thing as above.

Nelson's Textbook of Pediatrics
This textbook is the gold standard of pediatric books. I used mine all through medical school and still use it in my practice. I highly recommend this text to students, residents and physcians. The thought provoking text and excellent illustrations make this a must have book. I couldn't practice without mine.

A Classic Textbook of Pediatrics
No medical text can ever be comprehensive, or completely up to date. The science of medicine advances so quickly that books are outdated the day they are published.

Nonetheless, "Nelson's Textbook of Pediatrics" comes as close as possible. Along with another other classic pediatric text, "Rudolph's Pediatrics," Nelson's represents the best of pediatric medicine in America. Every pediatrician has a favorite, but Nelson's is the gold standard.

Nelson's is particularly strong in pediatric cardiology and immunology. For the latest in infectious disease, see the "Red Book" published by the American Academy of Pediatrics. For neonatology, developmental pediatrics, and the surgical sub-specialties, consult specialty books in those fields. For congenital malformations and syndromes, "Smiths's" (by Jones!) is a good place to start. For the latest in oncology, your best bet (after your local trusted oncologist) is to search Medline or the Web, but watch out for quackery.

Fine but simplistic
I almost think this book is misnamed. Covering Genesis through Revelation, it serves more as an overview of the books of the Bible in its order, including providing background, author, theme, and other information that you would expect in a study Bible or commentary. This is fine. The charts are available throughout, but they are quite simplistic and are not really in any order. Of course, you can look in the index for help, but unless you know what you are looking for, a particular chart or map might be hard to find. For instance, they have a small chart on Christ's superiority at the end of the section on Hebrews. Unless you knew that was there, how would you ever find it? Although this book is fine, if you are searching for clearer and more detailed charts and maps, let me recommend the Holman Book of Charts and Maps. I think this would be a better buy, if I had to choose between the two.

My First Stop Bible Study Reference Book
Do you have only a limited amount of time for Bible study like I do? Due to this, I need a few good reference works that can really jump-start my Bible study - ones that I can rely on every time I want to really dig into a book of the Bible. Nelson's Complete Book of Bible Maps & Charts is just that sort of book! It is now my FIRST STOP reference book for Bible study. Why? The balance of charts, outlines, and articles give me excellent big pictures of the Bible that I can actually REMEMBER.

This work's greatest strengths are the summary charts for every book of the Bible. Unlike most, these analyze each book in A NUMBER of complementary ways, not just one. You see themes that overlap and weave together! The outlines and many, many topical charts give even more depth to each book and help tie books and themes together. The articles also include a lot of very useful background material. Overall, this reference is laid out in a very user-friendly fashion.

I use this book for both personal study and teaching preparation. It is literally a must-own for anyone serious about understanding the Bible better; I cannot say enough good things about this work!

Great and Useful tool
I've had some opportunities to look at this book and it is very helpful to get a general overview about the Bible. There are good pictures and charts that are very helpful. I know that there are many other types of books that are similar, but I would rate this one above the others

NEED MORE COPIES PUBLISHED
Received my first copy on my Wedding day 6/1/1985. My wife and I have used this book for almost 18 years. It has given my Wife and I great encouragement, joy, and great reading. I haved used it praying for prisoners, homeless people, and numerous others in own ministry. People have asked my time and time agian for a copy of the book or how can they get one. Please, Please, ask the publisher to publish more of these books. They can change lives.

A Hard Read but a Good Read
Like "The Book of Romance," Tommy Nelson makes sense on one of the least studied books of the Bible.

I caution you, however. This is not necessarily an easy read. It gets to be a grudge match at times, but that is the way Solomon wrote it. Nelson does a wonderful job in trying to relate this book to every day usage.

Despite the difficulties in reading this book, it will be well worth it when you finish. I give Nelson an A for the effort he put in to explaining and interpreting this difficult book.

This should be standard issue for all H.S. Grads
This book is packed with practical wisdom because it comes from a book whose Author was endowed with wisdom from God. Oh how I wish that this book had been around prior to my years of foolishness beginning in High School. Parents would do their children a great favor if they had their older children read this book while praying that God would give them a heart to understand it. This is definitely not just for kids as I still find so much that applies to my life with all the baggage that I brought into the Christian life!

Relax and enjoy God
This is a great book for somone trying to understand how God is the fullfillment of all our longings. Many Christians find it difficult to relax and enjoy the life God has sovereignly layed before us. Taste and see that the Lord is good, wise and satisfying.
