Wonderful
Max Lucado has always been one of my favorite authors and he proves himself worthy of that title once again with this book. Max offers insight and wisdom when writing about the word of God. This book helped me to get back on track with my quiet times.

Great!
Up-to-date sprung to my mind when I skipped through this book. It follows the paradigm of building a short animated film from scratch using all the latest features of 3ds Max 5.1 and Character Studio 4. It even has a chapter devoted to Combustion 2.1. Some of the chapters I was most impressed with were the human body modelling chapters. Finally someone has added a FULL tutorial on how to model a human body from scratch! The effects chapters are amazing too, thick, hollywood explosion techniques! Woohoo! I would say this book is aimed for someone who has used Max for quite sometime and knows a little about modelling. But I recommend this book to anyone that has Max!

The stuff from which great scifi films are made
When his wife is caught in a lethal gangbanger cross-fire Harp Adams life falls apart. He is inconsolably grief-stricken and roams the streets like the lost soul he has become. Eventually finding work in the hills of Texas he discovers a strange glass-like rock of captivating beauty. Then his life goes from bad to worse because within this luminous stone is an alien being called Ishira who decides Harp is to be its host victim. As the result of a violent struggle to keep control of his mind and body, Harp finds only two choices remain to him: kill the intruder or submit to its commands. The Abduction Of Harp Adams is an original, exceptionally well crafted science fiction story that will command the total attention of the reader from first page to last. Hollywood Alert! -- This is the stuff from which great scifi films are made.

real-live document to create art.
as a composer Adorno was a breath of fresh air with an historical depth, the academics in music still haven't dealt with the implications of his thought, the political and social functions of music are now beginning to be duscussed by people such as Susan McClary and Edward Said. Although Adorno had a rather dismal view of the world his "Aesthetic Theory" is to me like a real live docuament to write music today, and within the mileau of postmodernity to be able to create art at all is a miracle, naturally his marxist overtones are very important for again in music this is an area truly neglected by serious thinkers in music

Like a movie tie-in with no movie...
The Aerobleu series is made to look like authentic Jazz-age artifacts, with a style and feel that have the reader almost able to smell the smoke in the air of the 'legendary' Aerobleu club in Paris. The Pilot's Journal, one piece of the puzzle that is the series, is handwritten and personal, with enough left out that there are "holes" that the reader's mind fills in.
I haven't picked up the other two Chronicle Books in the series, but I have a feeling that by the time I'm done reading them, there will be a timeless story indelibly etched on my mind of Aerobleu and it's glitterati. It's well worth both the price and the wait, and I can't recommend it highly enough.

Logical and/but Expensive
This book costs way too much. It is a scam; because this book is required for College Algebra courses they can pretty much charge whatever they would like. I love math, don't get me wrong. But I don't have the money for a college education and I wanted to teach myself Algebra and this was a highly recommended book. Unfortunately, I simply cannot afford it. I have, however, found a copy in the local library and loved it! It is logical, lucid, and an excellent book by which to teach yourself Algebra.

Great Supplement to Textbook
This novel teaches history in a novel, thought provoking way. It doesn't simply recites the facts like a history textbook, but analyzes and makes connections. It's excellent for review for college level classes and for ideas for essay thesis-writing. All in all, it deserves the highest mark.
