For All Ages and for All Time
Like her former partner Robert A. Johnson, Helen Luke is a master of rendering the psychological meanings in great literature understandable and relevant to all people wishing to gain a deeper level of understanding about the growtn of the human soul. Having plumbed the depths of her own psycho-spiritual aging process(Such Stuff As Dreams are Made On), Ms. Luke has created a work fusing literary scholarship and personal experience into a guide for all of us to follow towards the inevitable. When the time comes for me to plant my oar (read her interpretation of The Odyssey)and turn towards the life of prayer, song and storytelling I will be eternally grateful to have had this wonderful Wise Woman as my guide. Deserving of a wide readership.

Marvelous
It is nothing short of miraculous to "discover" that the last frontier is not outer space after all, but Inner Space ("the things which are seen are but a mirror of the things not seen")...if you are questing for this reality, you might find it helpful to read St. Teresa's book THE INTERIOR CASTLE.

A Quiet Strength Roars with Astute Wisdom
Of all of the meditation books specifically for men, and there really are a number of them, A Quiet Strength is by far my favorite! While it has an issue and meditation for each of the 366 days, I prefer to look up an issue I am dealing with in the index and, every time, I get very pertinent advice. Now and then I leaf quickly through the pages, stopping abruptly and read the section I have stopped on. It always seems to be very pertinent to what is happening in my life at the time. This is well worth the time to search for a copy and encourage (them) to reprint. Your life and those around you will be much the better for it....

The interviews are descriptive and the pictures are intense.
Brian O'Connell's Voices From The Heart, profiles 25 active volunteers from around the United States. The volunteers range in age and all are working on a variety of projects that help make the world a better place. The new book is perfect for a coffee table or holiday gift. I read many profiles on my way back from San Francisco and I couldn't put the book down.

An outstanding book
Though small in size, 91 pages, this is another outstanding, thought provoking book from who I consider one of the leading spiritual figures of our time. Brother David has opened my eyes to a new way of seeing the Holy Spirit alive in my life and the world as an experiental reality 24 hours a day. The implications of this can be life changing. His suggestion to substitute "Common Sense" for "Holy Spirit" helps to overcome the dualistic rift that religious thought seems to generate. And the many sayings of common sense cited in the book are priceless. Bring some Common Sense into your life and read and meditate on this book!
