The Soap Lady is in the format of a hardcover children's book (large illustrations with minimal text) and contains some of her best artwork ever. The blue and white illustrations have a haziness and surrealistic atmosphere to them although they are in her usual cartoony style, but here the art's cuttiness does not have a disturbing undertone to it. The story itself is about a young boy who has the habit of getting himself muddy befriending a woman who is made entirely of soap. They have lots of fun playing together, creating artwork on trees, etc., until they are discovered by some nasty children who report their friendship to the adults (who of course don't want their kids playing with a freak). It has a bitter-sweet yet happy ending unlike most of French's works (which tend to be depressing). Overall, the book is a wonderful examination of friendship and tolerance, and the joys of imagination, not to mention cleanliness, and will have you longing for the days when you felt free to go outside and just roll in the grass.
In an angst-ridden world where torrential trouble floods the land comes the serenity that lies within Renée Bagley's poetry. Here, violence isn't described in graphic detail - instead are words of endless encouragement, support and inspiration.
A calming, relaxing read for a lazy day, there is nothing here to harm your soul. One message continually shows up within the numerous poems - turn darkness into light, and no longer sit around waiting for something that may never come. Take the future in your own hands and make a difference.
"The House That Was Alive" is clearly inspired from many a Gothic novel... and maybe a taste of a novel to come from the pen of Renée Bagley? This reader certainly hopes so!
"He is Safe" is a sweet tribute to a now-deceased treasure, while "Seeker of Light" is vivid in its imagery, as is "Midnight's Children". "Alive" is interesting because of its structure, while "A Portrait" has the fascinating vision, "The even colours of a scattered rainbow / like spectrums of emotions lying in the snow." And "Find Your Dreams" is the ultimate in inspirational, motivational poetry, without being condescending.
Even the most reluctant poetry reader can find something worthy inside this first collection from a poet who has the wisdom of a woman twice older. One can only look ahead now to the forthcoming second collection, Break the Chain.

This has to be "one" of my favorite books on the Tarot subject. Needless to say my daughter caught me reading the book, so that spoiled that, but it is a book that has brought us both together, in a subject that we both love.
I highly recommend this book for all those starting to learn the divination art form of the Tarot, as well as those advanced, trust me, there are may good surprises in this book. A+++++ * * * * * 5 Stars, good book, and very easy to learn and enjoy. This book is destined to be a classic amongst the young, as well as the young at heart.
The Interpretations of the cards start from a pretty traditional point, but as she goes deeper into the cards, her, wisdom, experience as a reader, and positive nature shine through. These factors combine to make this a very uplifting and positive book for readers of every age. I am myself twice the age of her intended reader, yet I found I had no problem reading the book.
She does not talk down to her young audience, and this ensures the book encounters no age barrier. It left me with lot to chew on, not only for my self, and as a tarot reader, but also as a father with a daughter the age of her intended audience. If you buy one New Age book this year, buy this one, whether or not you read Tarot.

It is better than I ever could have imagined! It helped open my eyes to some of the behavior/attitude problems I've seen in both my children and given me some great insight on how to help them. My teen has started the book and he loves it. I heard the authors say that the book reads like a chatroom, and that's exactly how my son described it. I think that's why it held his attention long enough for him to get interested in it.
Thank you for offering this inspirational book! It's going to make a big difference in our family.
I truly recommend this book, not only for teens but for peoples of all ages. I think this book will be a great source of information and comfort. I regret I didn't have a book of this caliber when I was a teen, but I will get this book for my grandchildren.
It's a "must have" for parents (and grandparents) of teens -- and read it FIRST. It's a great way to start a conversation with your teen. Excellent gift idea.

There are hanging banners, a sliding front gate, balconies, connecting doors, chandeliers, chess games, closets, hidden jewels, pop-up furniture and more. There are loads of fun little surprises here -- even a hidden passage. My advice: get this even for a little child who may tear the admittedly fragile cardboard pieces. You can always tape or glue them together, or buy another castle, but you can't always find a fun setup for little ones that requires imagination more than batteries, allowing children to act out stories in an exciting play environment.

In the book, "What Baby Needs," from the famous Sear's Children's Library, children will find out exactly what new babies need. The story begins by explaining things that the new baby needs...the same needs that the sibling had. Young children will be reminded of how their parents took care of them when they were babies, and they'll learn what their new role will be in the new baby's life. They will feel comforted knowing that their parents lovingly cared for them, the same way their parents will be caring for their new baby.
There are little sections throughout the book called, "What About Me?" that help siblings understand and realize that they are important too. They provide information on their new role as "big brother" or "big sister," and gives them ideas on ways they can connect with the new baby.
My ParenTime highly recommends "What Baby Needs" - young children will find it very easy to relate to. It also answers many of the questions that they probably have about the new baby's needs and their role in its new life. Young children are sure to enjoy this book. My 6 year old enjoyed this story :-).

The story itself isn't much different from the one you'd find in The Potty Book or other training books. It follows a child through potty training, buying underwear, etc. The narrative uses language a child can understand, but sometimes it seemed a bit too babyish for me. ("poo-poo goes bye-bye"). I don't think you have to talk down to kids to get them to understand. But, that small complaint aside, the book is informative and positive. It's a wonderful teaching tool, and perfectly suited for Attachment families.
The only thing I didn't like was the use of the terms "pee-pee" and "poo-poo" but that's easy enough to change as you read. The message is comforting at the same time the text is informative for kids, discussing the mechanics of the process as well as the benefits.
There is also a pull-out poster that shows the steps involved, and this can be placed on the bathroom wall or maybe in a spot your youngster tends to seek out when s/he feels the need to go potty.
Excellent.
