The mother of his old love, Mrs. Longten, contacts Robert. Mrs. Longten, overwhelmed by emotion, tearfully tries to tell him of Dana's breakdown and hospitalization in the nearby Levinson Institute. According to Mrs. Longten as well as the treating physician, Dr. Morgan, Dana has attempted suicide several times over the last few years. According to everything Robert is told, a violent, suicidal Dana who won't speak has replaced the happy Dana that he knew and secretly loved. Her only sign of communication is her artwork in which she repeatedly draws pictures of Robert.
Robert agrees to see Dana in an attempt to help her. It turns out that she always loved him as well and the sight of him appearing before her changes her outlook on everything. She reacts to Robert completely differently than what he was led to believe she would do and he can see the old Dana, the one he knew and loved, lurking within the terrified woman.
While Dana is definitely in trouble, her situation is far different than what he was led to believe by all involved. With almost no one to help him he must try to figure out exactly what is going on. Along with trying to help Dana he also must find some way to resolve some of the past involving her and his brother Dennis.
With roots in the past stretching tentacles into the present, this is an interesting and complex thriller. It is dark, but very enjoyable and has a rather surprising twist at the end. If your only interest is in sex acts on the printed page, then this one is really not for you. But if you are interested in a complex story probing the limits of love and humanity, then this one is right for you.
2. The settings were great. I love to camp.
3. The twist at the end is just so perfect...
4. Blood IS thicker than water, but beer is better than both of them.
5. [This is] an excellant writer, one that everyone should have a crack at reading.
6. Wish it were longer (the book).

I wrote the title and ISBN down at that time I borrowed it and have been looking for the book ever since. It deserves to come back into print.
This book is becoming very scarse these days, which is too bad. This is a top quality book that has a lot of top quality information. The book is smaller in dimensions than many other medical texts but it has 900p of info. The hardcover makes it a lasting resource. If you are fortunate enough to have this book, keep a pen and notepad nearby because you'll want to take notes while reading. All the standard chapters that you would find in any medical textbook are here (cardiovascular, patient care, trauma, medical, environmental, etc). This book provides a comfortable level of new information that won't boggle down the seasoned paramedic.... too much.
ALS medics & nurses will benefit from this book. I believe this book is almost a universal text in the critical care programmes. This provides a fantastic introduction into the flight medicine industry. Don't get thrown off by the word "nursing" in the title. I got laughed at it when others saw me reading it. This book would be a valuable tool for any paramedic because it familiarizes them with this area of medicine. We all need continuing education anyways.
If you want a laugh, show this book to a friend, not in the medical profession, and let them try and pronounce some fo the terms that are common throughout the book.

In the book, Jackie Jack is an infant who becomes sick, spends time in the hospital, then goes home with his parents, where he reaches for a light and jumps into the arms of angels; then his parents climb a mountain, where they feel his love in the sunlight, the breeze, a rainbow. The book is based on a true story; Jackie Jack's parents released his ashes at the top of a mountain.
As a mother, I found the book very touching in its simplicity. At least I thought it was simple (read on!). I particularly liked the picture of Jackie Jack's mother sleeping with him in the hospital bed, because I used to do that. It was also appropriate for us because we brought our child home to die.
My two year old had problems with the pictures, which carry some messages that are not in the text. After Jackie Jack dies, he is alternately shown as an angel or as heart symbols. She found this confusing: In the heart pictures, she asked, "Where's the baby?" That was a wonderful opportunity to talk about his spirit leaving his body. I could have done without the angels, since we havn't taught her to think of dead people as flying around with wings. To her it looked as if the baby was alive again. She pointed to the halo and asked "what's this?"
I personally had a problem with the fact that the hospital bldg is drawn with a white cross on top; I would have preferred a non-denominational medical symbol. Also, the picture on the mountain top shows an urn with hearts flowing out of it. Fortunately, my 2 year old didn't notice the urn and ask about it, because cremation is not approved in our religion (the text does not mention it). However, this is not a generic book designed for readers of all faiths and practices: this is Jackie Jack's story.
I felt that the book -is- appropriate for parents trying to tell a young child about a sibling who died, if you are comfortable with these images.
Beautifully illustrated and marvelously told, the book shares the story of the short life of an infant with leukemia. It is written in a way one would expect to tell a child about the loss of a brother or sister.
I literally stumbled upon the book while hiking in the mountains. It had been placed in a safe haven in the rocks by his parents with an accompanying journal. They gave an open invitation to anyone who stumbled upon it to express themselves freely. (I think the journal entries themselves would make for an inspiring book)
Every night when I walk my dog and look up at "Jack's mountain", I think of that truely brave little boy and wonder how I can love my own children more and more each day.

It gives complete information, direction, and planning anyone just starting out in the business needs.
However, this book gives a great insight on how a Salon/Spa Business Plan should look like. My biggest advice: Pace yourself. If you need a Plan in a few weeks, I suggest get a consultant and be prepared to pay some heavy $$$.
Otherwise, work each day on one section of the book. There are wonderful samples and scenerios. I have yet to see such a comprehensive Business Plan.
Also, remember, have factual data to back up all your information.
Good Luck!
